I've been using this code to make menus for all my Excel sheets since NateO made it back in 2003.
- The workbook has 370 sheets, 365 of them are one day per month with the tab named ddmmmyy. - The Main Menu in this file puts the months Jan, Feb, Mar, etc in cells A3:L3. - In the single cells under each month it put the month day tab name (ddmmmyy) and hyperlinks it to the sheet tab.
I would like to do two new things. 1. Put the name of the month in everyother cell in row 2, so Jan would be in A2, Feb in C2 and Mar in E2, etc. 2. Put the day of the week for each date in the cell to the right of the date. So the column heading would be Jan in A2, 01Jan08 in A3 and Tue in B3.
I thought I could make another macro and just insert the rows after the Main Menu was built and then VBA copy/paste TEXT(cell,"ddd") down the ranges, but thought there might be a better idea out there...
Sub Workbook_TOC() Dim ws As Worksheet Dim wsNw As Worksheet Dim z As Integer
In order to beutify my prog's interface, i would like to open the Excel file(active VBA) with the worksheet in the minimized background or hide, i.e. only the Userform or a Dialog window, from the right beginning on! as if it was a standalone VB main interface.
I'm writing a program on VBA for Excel and I've succeeded in just displaying the Userform when opening the file. I have set the ActiveWindow.Visible option to False and the Application.Visible one to false as well so that i only have the user form displayed.
However, if i try to open an excel file via "My Computer", the file doesn't open. I also noticed that when I was leaving the application.visible option to True, i couldn't access the application while the userform was running. I think i need to do something with an event, but i can't find the event corresponding to opening a file oustide Excel.
I am attempting to create a Menu (food) in Excel 2007. I have a list of foods that I would like to select once one is selected the next list would be for the next item and so on. I know how to create a drop down list but once I select an Item I would like the next list to narrow down the field (or choices). I am not sure I explained this well enough so here is another way to put it.
First Column would be a choice of meats. Beef, Chicken, Pork, etc. If you select say Beef the next column would be a veggie, Carrots, Peas, Green beans. But with Beef you cannot select Carrots. and so on.
Creating a drop down menu that allows me to pull data from sheet2.
I have all of my data on sheet2 and my objective is to have a small portion of the data displayed on sheet1 once the user selects the specific "study" from a drop down menu.
how to create a drop down menu that will have a list of all the different studies, and then once the specific study is selected, how do I make it display the pertaining information in the master sheet.
Follow up....more information
The data I’m working with is a master list of different drug studies. All of the data is broken down by the specific study itself, so all I need to do is figure out a way to let the user access the data in a quick and easy way. I figured this could be down with a drop down menu that has a list of each study, and the user could select the study they want to review. Once selected, the data pertaining to the study would then populate the fields on the master silde(sheet1).
i want to create a menu in the worksheet named "Main Menu" that lists all the other worksheets within the workbook with the option to select the required worksheet and view or print it.
I have created a list in a Microsoft Excel Workbook (names and corresponding numbers) and named the list.
Then, I created a drop-down menu through Data/Validate/List that included the names.
I can look the names up in the drop-down box, but I would like to be able to type a few letters and Excel auto complete the rest of the name. For instance I would type Ja...and James Doe would come up with the mes Doe in black (highlighted).
I have a workbook that creates three temporary menu buttons when I open it. These work fine until I try and open more then 1 workbook at a time. This creates duplicate menu buttons (3 times the number of workbooks that I open).
I call up the procedure when each workbook is opened using this code in the "ThisWorkbook" code area: ....
I have a list of values (say a, b, c, d, e) and creating a drop down menu with these values in say A1. Say I chose 'c'. Now in cell A2 I want to be able to choose from the same list without being able to choose 'c' again. In cell A3 I want to be able to choose from the same list without being able to choose the values lalready chosen in A1 and A2. and so on.
i'm trying to build a GUI-only application using Excel Userforms, with File and Help menus on the form. i'm coming from Java where i know getting a menu on a GUI is possible, but i haven't seen any resources for it in VBA Excel Userforms. is it possible to place menu items in a userform?
How do you make it so when a user form is open you can still interface with the backround (the Spreadsheet) For example like the Microsoft Tool Boxes.
Right now, when you use the userform you cn only select things on the userform. I want to use the userform as "quick view" of the spreadsheets main Values.
I would like to create a simple right mouse button popup menu for the text box on a userform. I just want Copy and Paste and the functionality that goes with them if possible.
I used the commandBar to create a right-click menu on a userForm but unfortunately I get an error 400 every time I click on the option "Edit" and I don't understand what I did wrong.
Sub CreateCmdBar() Dim st As CommandBar 'delete the pop-up if it exists On Error Resume Next Application.CommandBars("flexgrid_rc").Delete 'Disables enabled error handler in the current procedure and resets it to Nothing. On Error GoTo 0 On Error Goto 0 Set st = CommandBars.Add( Name:="flexgrid_rc", Position:=msoBarPopup, Temporary:=False) 'add two menu items to the new commandbar With st..................
I currently have a VB macro written where under certain conditions user forms are shown for the user to select options, display messages, etc. When any of these forms are on the screen, and someone drags them, the menu image is 'dragged' across the screen. Is there a way from preventing this from happening?
I have one Popup Menus in Userform, But i want to to Open Popup menu in Specific Position in userform, In Fixed Position,i want to specific a position which opens Popup Menus in Userform.
I have Problem column, with problems from A2 to A14. I have number of calls column, with number of calls from B2 to B14 and finally i have percentage column in which i want to automatically calculate problems percentage. I'm including my exel file.
I am working on a time table worksheet and I need to insert a time Offset that can range from 5 minutes to an hour with 5 minute increments. The message box or user form will prompt, "How long is your Offset:"
The problem is that I only know how to do make a drop down list that is populated from cells on a sheet. Do I have to use a user form?
On a worksheet i have a list of names in Column A the list length can vary this is why i want to create a userform using VBA. The form just wants a checkbox with name next to it for each name in column A. If the checkbox is ticked I want a 'Y' in Column B next to the corresponding name.
Basically I’m trying to create a login userform that launches once the database opens.
Userform = LoginTextbox = UserformTextbox = PasswordCommand Button = UserloginCommand Button = UsercloseSheet containing passwords = Userpasswords Usernames are stored vertically in the A column, and Passwords vertically on the B column both starting from row 1.
I’ve been using code found at [URL] but I’m struggling to make it work. Some of the variables listed below may be useless but I’m not entirely sure so I’m sceptical about removing them. !
VB: Option Explicit Dim ws As Worksheet Dim Userpasswords As Worksheet
I am a novice VBA user, with a more-than-basic knowledge.
I have created several userforms in the past, but they were all “static”, meaning, the user was allowed certain options from a variety of combo boxes, and after filling all the data, the result was migrated into a sheet (database).
Now, I am trying to create an INTERACTIVE userform in which certain combo boxes will become available based on a user’s selection in a previous combo in the same form.
For example: If - in a “Payment” combo - the user will select “Check”, 3 new text boxes will appear (Date, Sum, Bank code) and the user will fill certain data related to his selection.
If, on the other hand, the user will select (in the “Payment” box) the option “Installments”, 3 other boxes will appear (Number of installments, first installment month, sum per installment). These boxes can either be text boxes of combo boxes, and here the user will select/fill the relevant data.
Naturally, the previous boxes, related to the “Check” option, will be made invisible.
Personally, I don’t care if ALL boxes are always visible, as long as they are activated or disabled (grayed out) based on user’s selection in the “Payment” combo.
The next step will be to migrate the selected/filled data from the form back into a sheet, where the data will be placed in different columns based on the final selection the user made in the form.
I am a total noob when it comes to userforms. I want to create a userform with a simple combobox that contains 4 different selections. Along with this combobox will be a Submit button and a Cancel button.
I have created a UserForm with 10 text boxes. 9 are input fields and the 10th is a large comments box. I have designed the form so that entry's can be added, searched for and updated. However, I would like all previous data to be stored as history in the 10th text box.
I just need to make a user form for entering data in one of the sheets ( Pending Confirmed Orders ), requested user form should be used to enter the orders information in columns ( each column in new entry ) and just the rows ( from 6 - 21 ) with noting that row no 16 is to link external pdf file as you will see.
