I've been trying to put together a VBA code that allows me to find a number between 1000 - 10,000. I am able to find any number below 999 but can seem to find anything above 1000. I've been using the following ....

Find Method To Search Time/Date

I am currently working on a VBA function that searches a spreadsheet for a particular time and date. In the time and date column, there exists a cell for every hour of the year from January 1st 12am to December 31st 11:00pm. So for any given date, there are 24 entires with the same date, but each with a different time (that is the intervals are in one hour increments.)

What I have been attempting to put together is a simple worksheet. Find method to search for a date, I.E. 1/22/2006 3:00:00 AM. I have read countless posts and websites saying that you must format the date and time into a window date format such as 1/22/2006, but you lose that time constraint. Well if I search for that in my spreadsheet, i have 24 cells that meet that criteria. Anywhere from 12AM to 11PM. But I may want the one for 11PM... Also, since find searches from top to bottom, I always retrieve 12AM since its the first hour of the day. I apologize for my wordiness, but It is kind of a complicated matter.

I'm using the Find function in VBA on a column of data, but the range is being set to Nothing if the data item I'm looking for happens to be in a row that is hidden at the time. How do I set the find to look in all rows, hidden or not? Can this be done without unhiding all the rows first?

Method For Find Large Number Of Data

Each sheet contains 30,000 rows of data in column A, C, E, G and I.
I want to find each cell of column A, C, E, G and I to another sheets column A, C, E, G and I respectively.
If match found then it should return "True" in column B, D, F, H and J.

I have tried VLookup, but it takes too much of time for calculation (1,50,000 vlookup Formulas needs to calculate in each sheet with If condition) some time calculation gives wrong results.

As well as I want to do filtering on this all the data... so that time calculation gives the problems (I have used application.Calculation=xlCalculationManual)

So now I am using Range.Find method, but that loop excecutes for 30,000 times and each ittration contains 5 Find methods.

Find Method To Search For The Active And Non Active Values

I have a range of amounts in Sheet 1 from F7:Q13 and im using the find method to search for the active and non active values in the cell. Which means that if there's a value in the cell it will transfer the value in Sheet 2, if nothing is found in the cell the cells in Sheet 2 will return as nothing or null.

I think the problem lies on the FindWhat variable. Im getting a compiled error which im not sure what is it.

I've attached the spreadsheet so you get a better idea of the problem that i encountered.

Excel 2003 :: Return Nth Number From Column Of 1000+ Cells

I need a formula that returns the Nth number from a single column that contains a small number of values within a span of 1000 cells. E.g., within 1000 cells there are 36 with numbers and the remaining cells are blank. I need to obtain the first occurrence of a number in the column, then the second, third... to the thirty-sixth. The end result would be a column with 36 numbers with no blanks in between without loosing the correct order of the numbers.

I have excel 2003 and have been tooling around with the index and lookup functions with no success.

I would like to create a VBA macro which would do the following:

There will be three columns A, B, and C. Each cell in each column will have a number with two places after the decimal. Each integer corresponds to a letter code. In the fourth column (D), I would like the letter codes from the corresponding three numbers in the same row to be combined in one cell as follows (if possible):

It is important that the macro only pay attention to the whole number, and ignore the numbers after the decimal. However, the numbers after the decimal must remain in the chart.

I have a monthly report. Worksheets for each month, each row is a type of fruit (column A), and the number sold (column B). A new worksheet is added each month with the information. I also have a Summary worksheet - running total of all months: Type of Fruit (column A), Number sold (column B), and Total of all fruits - number sold. I would like a formula for the Summary worksheet - to match that fruit (column A) to any of the other worksheets - matching the fruit (column A), and bring back the number sold (column B). (note some apples are Fuji and some are Honey crisp - those would be totaled together)

Find Column Number From Search Pass To Integer Cell Reference

I am building a Workbook which takes data from SheetA and inserts it into SheetB.
Part of the data is only entered when a positive value exists.

I then do an export from SheetB.

The problem is that I need to get the column number and pass it to the cell reference based on the field name in row 1.

I'm trying to use this Find Method and combine it with a countif or loop. Something that will count a number of occurences of a unique type of character. I'm looking to find all "F" characters in Bold, Italic and Size 16. Here's my find code that I'm trying to use. I can get it to work by itself but not along with a countif or loop.

My workbook contains a input sheet and multiple sheets with the data I compile. In the examples I provided, on each sheet "Server Name" is unique data to each sheet. I would like to have the ability on the Input sheet to click one of the server names and that take the user to the record on sheet 2. I am thinking if there was a forma that searched for "LS " (Note the space) and then returned the next two digits from the left from the found search ("LS ". I have attached a spreadsheet.

The above vba command which is extract the data from the Other workbooks. It looks for the "Staff 001", "Staff 002"...these parameters to transfer the data to the worksheet. But, the "Staff 001" data must appear twice in each workbooks. If i use the above command, i only can extract the FIRST "Staff 001" average data. But SECOND "Staff 001" average data cannot extract. I know it may be use FindNext method to do this but i am not sure how to write it

Creating Search Bar Using VBA

I'd like to create a search bar where someone types text into a field in Sheet1 (in the sample B1), then clicks a macro button to search for that word in Sheet2.

The result should be that the cell containing that word is where you end up.

The search word shouldn't be an exact match for the result, the cell just needs to contain it.

The search bar should also be present on Sheet2, with an additional button for Find Next, so that the user can move to the next result if the first one is not what they're looking for.

I've managed to create a search function with a pop up box using the below but this isnt as effective.

I need some help in creating a search box in excel. I have 4 rows of data, and want the user to enter a 4 digit number in a text box, which is then searched in the spreadsheet, pulling up the results.

So far I have the following code..

I've got a code that stores a variable and then searches for that variable in a different file. When it finds the answer it it jumps over and up and highlights a different cell. The problem now is that I want it to keep searching past where the first result was and repeat this process down the entire column. Here's what I have so far:

I am having trouble using teh find method. I'm using it to search for a string in a column, then give me the row number, which is fine when the string is found, but when it is not I get an error of "variable not set." I'm pretty certain it is returning void, but how to I capture that? Here's the

I am going through various excel sheets looking for certain text on them. not all of the sheets will have the text.

I have been using

Cells. Find(What:="FindMe", After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt _

and it works fine, if the text is on the sheet. When the text is not on the sheet, how should I handle this.
