Spin Button To Increase Or Decrease By 1 Each Time It Is Clicked Up Or Down
May 18, 2009I am having difficulty finding information on coding my spin button on a user form. I searched and haven't found any information. I need to do is code a spin button to increase or decrease by 1 each time it is clicked up or down. I would like it to populate to a text box on my form if that is possible.

How Can I Refresh IE Screens
Feb 23, 2009I have four to five screens being displayed. After 10 hours the screens time out and go into password protection mode.
Is there a way to send a refresh to each of these IE windows to keep them from going into password mode.
They are being watch and security in not the problem. The hours spent logging back into four to five screens are getting really old and time consuming.
I also have MS vb express that I can use but would rather use excel.
How To View Multiple Excel Screens
Jan 10, 2014I have 3 Excel files open. There's one unnamed file that I can open in the background with no problem. Then I have 2 data files. I'd like to be able to view them both at the same time, side by side, but for some reason I cant. They both seem to occupy the same window. Every time I goto the task bar and try switching windows they occupy each other's window. Is there a way to view files side by side?

Well - all thats happening is that the Excel workbook is hogging essential system resources - i.e. memory and CPU time and extra continuous CPU load is causing the machine to heat up which switches on the Fan.... be thankful the Fan is working
I didnt do a code walkthrough to see if there was a more efficient way of doing it, but if the machine isnt being used by anthing else, and it is in a well ventilated area (Air Con?) then I wouldnt see this as being a big problem. Just make sure the fan doesnt break down or you might have some sparks.
2, Could this be done in a powerpoint presentation. e.g have an excel spreadsheet on each slide and automatically update the links every x mins. You could then just set the slide show to continuous loop.
Well, possibly yes... the idea is good, but as far as I know you would have to rewrite the code to work in PPT. That is - you cant just drop an excel sheet with code onto a PPT slide and expect it (The Excel code) to work... you would need to code each slide again. I think... Not sure how easy that would be as I know little about PPT.
Lower Screens Brightness To Save Power When Desired
Feb 21, 2012Have a system that runs 8 monitors on one computer. 4 are very large screens. Creates a lot of heat and uses much power.
Is there a way to dim the screens brightness in VBA. Looked all over and can't find any code.
Not really looking for a screensaver as they can cause interrup problems etc if I have programs running for hours. And I can't just turn off some screens as then desktop icons placements get scrambled.
Just want to dim screens with a macro, then undim it. Don't need to have it linked to the mouse movement, but that might be nice too.
I tried a macro that said "Dim MyScreens" but nothing happened.

with in the macro I waned the splash screen to be displayed during but that doesn't work. Well, it does, but not as I intended. The splash screen pops up for the specified duration as part of the macro stopping the macro, then closes and the rest of the macro finishes running.
Do i need to call the splash screen from a certain point in the macro I wish it to be displayed during? I dont want the macro to stop running while the splash screen is showing.

Right now, the workbook opens and there is one sheet that is visible for a certain period of time and then the splash screen comes on. I would like the reverse to happen. Delete Splash Screen UserForm & Code
Sep 4, 2006Some time ago (not sure how long ago) I created a splash screen that comes up when I first load a particular workbook. There was only one worksheet in the workbook and at that time the data in the worksheet was not so relevant and hardly ever used. That workbook name is "Employees" and the worksheet name is "EmpData".
Subsequently, the worksheet ("EmpData") in the workbook "Employees" has became relevant to a new workbook named "Payroll" I created. This workbook is used all the time. It had four different active worksheets.
I realized last week that the data in "EmpData" was very relevant to the work in the "Payroll" workbook so I copied "EmpData" worksheet in it's entirety to the "Payroll" workbook as a fifth worksheet using the same name as before, "EmpData". Now each time I open the "payroll" workbook the splash screen shows up and hangs around for several seconds or longer. It has become quite irritating and I want to delete it.
Removing Blinking Cursor From Textbox On Splash Screen?
Feb 2, 2014how to get rid of the blinking cursor in a text box. I made a splash screen, added a text box, increased the font size to maximum, and when I run it there is a maximum sized blinking cursor at the end of the line of text. Just looks bad on the splash screen. Is there a hide cursor command that I can use? Or is there a better way to add text that I (obviously) didn't use?

Oct 6, 2009I have a workbook that has worksheets that serve as data input pages for the user.
I have control boxes created by the forms toolbar.
I created a splash screen that is to be launched when the file is opened.
Instead, often the last sheet that the user was on when they last saved the file (usually but not always the worksheet called "Main Menu") is seen first.
I understand that not all the sheets can be hidden - that one must be unhidden.
So I created a sheet called "Background" that is a solid color with no gridelines.
Objective:
When the file is opened, I want the "Background" sheet to be seen first and then the splash screen to be initiated.
Now - when the user opens the file, the Main Menu worksheet is seen for a few seconds (or whatever the last sheet was on before it was last saved), then it disappears and the solid background screen is shown with the splash screen. When the splash screen ends, the "Background" sheet disappears.
Here is the code that I have in the workbook

Force Splash Page To Show On 1 Of 2 Dual Monitors
Feb 3, 2008I have a splash page I created and I work on dual screen monitors. Typically I have Excel open on the left monitor and my VBA window (alt-F11) open on the right. If I close my Excel workbook and reopen it, the splash page will always open on the screen that had the VBA window on last. In my case Excel opens on the left monitor and the splash page shows up on the right window. I would like to have the splash page open on the side that Excel opens on (in my case the left side). Wondering if there is some VBA code I can add in my splash page code that would allow me to override this default setting?

I can easily determine the average of the values in column B (=AVERAGE(B1:B6)) But I also want to know if the average is increasing or decreasing without making a chart and trendline. Concrete: I want the cell with average (say B7) to turn green when the trendline has a positive growth and red when negative.

Aug 6, 2009I need to be able to select a certain number (from, say, 1-20) from a drop down menu, which will decide a number of rows (filled with data) on the next sheet. As I prefer not to give anyone the sheet I'm actually working on I made a quick look-a-like which might explain this better.
A and B are different scenarios, with different values in the fake drop-down menu I made. Just to pass on the understanding of what I want the values to do. If putting a drop-down menu there is troublesome, then I can live without them. But entering a certain value in the field and getting that number of rows for a certain product is what I need. I tried searching for a function/macro to use for this, but I dont know what exactly to look for. Name, etc
Percentage Increase Or Decrease From Cell
May 2, 2012I need a formula that can work out a percentage increase or decrease from cell J2 to L2.
J2 is the current data with L2 being the previous data - so the formula would compare J2 with L2 and tell me if there is an increase or decrease shown as a percentage.
The figures fluctuate from month to month so they could be either an increase or decrease. There are over 300 entries so I can't go through each one adjusting the formula accordingly - this is why I need the formula to do the working out if it is up or down.
