Drop Down List, Choose Option, Different Description Appears

is it possible to do the following with a drop down list, without requiring VBA? I would like to have 20 products to choose from in a drop down box. When the user selects one of the products, a more detailed product description will appear in the same cell where the drop down list is. For ex: If the user chose "chair" from the drop down list, what I would like to appear in the same cell is "chair - model T654".

I have 8 values in a drop-down list that I've created with excel " Validation" function. Each one of these values changes my data in the sheet. I'm trying to set up a macro that will choose each one of these values and print out the sheet when each new value is chosen.

I have a drop down list that shows phrases for different math functions, like "divide by 2," "divide by 4," divide by 8," etc. When one of these items is selected, I want it to perform that specific calculation on a range of nearby cells.
However, I also want the user to be able to see the original value of the cells if they select "show original value" from the drop down list.
I have attached a workbook as an example. I think macro would probably work best.

I have a bunch of parts each with a list of packages sizes, prices, and additional piece prices. For example:
Part #305213
1000 pieces - $7.99/Pkg - $.05/add'l piece
600 pieces - $4.99/Pkg - $.06/add'l piece
200 pieces - $3.00/Pkg - $.07/add'l piece
0 pieces - $0.00/Pkg - $.15/add'l piece
I need to determine what is the most efficient way to order these items given various amounts. For example:
If I need 1200 pieces, it's cheaper to order 2 of the 600 pkgs than a 1000 and a 200.
If I need 400 pieces, it's cheaper to order 600 at $4.99 than to buy 2x200 at $3.00/pkg.
If I need 1250 pieces, it's cheaper to buy 2x600 @ $4.99/pkg plus 50 pieces at $0.06/piece......

I have a Master List with 3 colums The first column labeled location has a pull down menu with about 20 different options. The middle column labeled issues is just for text entry. The third column labeled contractor is another pull down menu with 18 options on it. I also have 18 other sheets within the workbook that correspond to the third column pulldown menu.
Heres what I need.
I would like to be able to enter info from columns one and two and be able to choose an option from column three and the info from columns one and two go to the corresponding sheet.

I have two columns, Account Number and Account Type. I already use Data Validation on Account Number to make sure it is numeric and on Account Type to make sure the user picks from a drop-down list. I want it so that if a user inputs an account number, it forces the user to automatically pick from the drop-down menu in the account type column, otherwise post an error.

I'm trying to create a drop down list which returns values based on what has been selected in the previous drop down list in the adjacent cell, e.g. if 'Apples' is selected in the previous cell then you should only be able to select from 'Gala, Granny Smith', or if 'Oranges' is selected you should only be able to select 'Seville, Blood Orange'. Is there a formula which would do this, or can I use a pivot table somehow? I'm totally stumped.

I need to have a drop down list which displays a different set of values depending upon the value selected by a previous drop down list. ie. (drop down box 1)= x, y, z. (drop down box 2)= either x1, x2, x3, or y1, y2, y3, or z1, z2, z3. I can produce a single drop down box thats not a problem but linking several drop down boxes is beyond me .

Any way to display the description of options (list) which in this case is a numbering code (like ECG201) in a data validation cell.
The length of the cell is not long enough for the users to know the appropriate description of the selected lists. I am now thinking there should be a way to display the description of each item so that users will know that ECG201 means "International College of Excellence", for example, instead of having to go from one worksheet (area) to another to know what an option means.

I know that I can do this with COUNTIF, but it's going to take ages to calculate.
Current COUNTIF formula is:
=COUNTIF('[ORIGINAL.xlsx]data'!$B$2:$B$216607,B2)

I have a few macros that need to work with various worksheets which are in different windows.
1. Make the user name the files a certain way for consistency
2. Make the user type the name of each window at the start of execution
I was wondering if there was a more flexible option though: one which would allow the user to choose from a list of open windows (similar to the Window>More Windows>Activate function in Excel).
Ideally the macro would run and say something like, "Which of the following open windows contains dataset1?" "Which of the following open windows contains dataset2?"

I have a list of numbers in Column A (labeled "Number"), with a list of dates in Column B (labeled "Date & Time"). Every date in Column B is unique, but some numbers in Column A appear more than once.
I am trying to create a simple formula that will automatically search for the LAST time a unique number appears in Column A (ignoring all previous instances of this number), and copy the date right next to it in Column B to another location on another worksheet.
I tried fussing with several of the built-in functions, but I really don't know what I'm doing, and the built-in help documents are filled with too much mathematical/programmer technical terminology for me to understand. All the tutorials I've looked at seem to think I want to add some numbers together, but I don't want to do any calculations!

when you choose Data Validation for a specific cell, you can choose list. Once you have chosen list for "Allow", you can select the source cells for what will be in the drop-down menu. I want to be able to use VBA (or just use Excel) to modify those source cells.
For example:
There will be 3 lists with drop-down menus using Data Validation.
List 1:
Choose first option in list -> List 2 uses source A
Choose second option in list -> List 2 uses Source B
etc...
List 2:
Choose first option in list -> List 3 uses source C
Choose second option in list -> List 3 uses source D

I have attached an example spreadsheet that shows my problem. Basically, in column A I have several thousand rows of 3 or 4 letter codes. In column B, I need a formula that will find one particular target code in Col A and then in the adjacent cell in Col B, display the first code to appear in Col A above the target code which matches the list of desired codes.
So the briefly re-state the problem, I need a formula which finds every case of one particular code in Col A (in the example spreadsheet the code is ABCD), and then read back up Col A to find the first value which matches the desired code (from a list of about 5-10 codes), ignoring other values which represent codes that are not on the list, and place this col B adjacent to the target code.

I have a spreadsheet listing various pieces of computer hardware, software and mobile accessories, etc with costs attached.
I have created a dropdown list of staff profiles eg a sales representative, finance assistant, IT administrator.
What I want to do is get Excel to pull the data through from the data sheet, to a printable summary output form (something you could also cut and paste from). For example, a sale rep would need to be set up with a laptop, laptop case, mobile phone, etc, so when you select Sales rep from droplist, I want that action to pull all the associated data through to the summary form. Similarly, a Finance assistant would require different kit , perhaps a desktop PC , monitor , etc.
Next to my data I have created columns with "Y" for yes in cells containing kit that match the staff role requirements, but I am not sure of the best way to pull this together.

I am after some VBA code that chooses each value from a drop down list (in cell A1) then copies a separate sheet 1 (sheet 1) into another workbook (can have both workbooks open at the same time or the first step will have to create a workbook) with the name of the added sheet renamed to the value chosen from the list. When the second value is chosen then sheet 1 should be copied into the newly created workbook as well.
Sheet 1 has lookups that are updated when the new value in the drop down list is chosen
There are around 85 values in the drop down list so I'm expecting a workbook with 85 tabs (copy pasted values and formats)

I have a large flat hierarchy table. I am looking for a method to select a parent and return a list of my lowest level children. I am somewhat familiar with VBA but I don't know where to begin coding this.
This has been a great learning source over the years, but this is one of the few instances I cannot find my problem so I am now posting. Example below:
Child
Parent
4
5
3
4
2
3
1
5
40
50
30
40
20
30
10
50
22
100
If I select 5, I want values 2 & 1 returned.
If I select 50, I want values 20 & 10 returned.
If I select 100, the value 100 should return.
If I select 40, the value 20 should return.

the number of days when there were 0 cases
the number of days there was 1 case
the number of days when there were 2 cases.
As yet there are no days in which there were more than 2 cases but there might be in the future.
I have a list of dates when operations took place in that room. On some days the it was not in use, so those dates don't appear in the list. Some days there was 1 case, so that date appears once in the list. On some days there were two cases, so that date appears twice in the list.
What I've done so far is create a pivot table that contains all the dates, then grouped it by day and counted the number of times there was 1 or 2 cases in a day by hand, then subtracted the total to get the days when there weren't any cases.
