i'm trying to simulate badminton match with MS Excel..
i just want to make this project simple..

Two players compete in a match.The possibility is 50% for both players to win.However,to make it real,each player have their own strength and ability.For this project,i just indicate 3 which is smash power,net power and stamina.[/size]
Ability:Smash
Net
Stamina
Players with more ability have more advantage.How can i relate it with the final score?
Scoring system:2 or 3 set in a match (3rd set is when both tied at 1-1)
A match is the best of three games.
Played with 21 points
If the score reaches 20-all, then the game continues until one side gains a two point lead (such as 24-22), up to a maximum of 30 points (30-29 is a winning score)
In MS Excel:

I want to see if i can make a formula that works out how a player got a score based on a scoring system. See the attached file for more details. I want this to show that the player scored or didn't score, played a full match or was a substitute, was booked or wasn't booked and was sent off or wasn't sent off.

I am trying to analytically solve an equation to establish a physical value. Unfortunately, it's difficult to do the algebra, so it needs to be done this way.
I have an experimental value for this in "J2", so what I want to do is change F2 to that "I2" is equal to "J2"
Is it possible to get excel to match these values - I have about 200 different cells of this?
The formula is in cell "I2"

I have done all the computation and final output was in the form of tables with different solution sets in one worksheet in an excel.
From the dropdown list (List of solution models), when I select one solution set it should pick that particular workout and populate the final output table in the new worksheet in the same excel. Firstly, I need to establish dynamic linkage between the drop down list and final output tables and then push the final table to new worksheet based on the option selected.

The workbook which is attached with this thread works fine in my project but the problem is for double ids for example in my case OCD6415 is double in sheet 1. This macro just compared the two worksheet and when the comparison is found then copy the respected cells from worksheet 1 to worksheet 3 but i want that if the ids are double or more even then it must copy all the compared (even identical) ids to the worksheet 3. The code is following

How do I generate repeat numbers when compared to previous row?
E.g.
Column No A2, B1, C1, D1, E1
Row no... A1 5 12 23 50 3
Row no... A2 10 21 5 25 6
Repeat number for above is 5
Given:
1) 5 cells only. All numbers are integers, no fractions
2) In a row same number is not repeated.
3) It is possible to repeat all numbers in a new run.

I'm trying to capture if any changes are made to a UserForms selections.
I initially load all the data from the database when the first user form is initialized, see code below

Once I have selected the corresponing record from the combobox , in this case Planning Number, then select the command button which runs the code below

Now the user form frmProcessEngineeringTemp is opened, it now populates all the comboboxes, textboxes and option buttons in this form based on the planning number choosen from initial user form
[Code] ....
Once the user has finished with the user form the information from the form is passed to a worksheet via a command button. If changes to the user form selections were made i need to capture what has changed (if anything), from what was initially loaded into the second user form (frmProcessEngineeringTemp).
I have seen numerous posts from various sites that discuss Change and Exit events from a Class module and many instances where each combobox, textbox and option button is hard coded to capture changes.
Being that I have captured my initial inputs from the database thru the myVar 1 thru 40, can this be put into a string array and the current inputs/selections in the frmProcessEngineeringTemp put into a second array then compare 1 to another looking for difference, then output the differences to a worksheet for tracking purposes. At the same time if changes were indeed made i would increment the Revison record by 1.

I have a spreadsheet and every row has an incident date. What I would like to do is calculate which relative month it is compared with today's date. I know how to show if it is in the current month, but what I want is something like the following:
Today's date is 9 July 13
Row 1 date = 9 June 13, hence calculation = -1
Row 2 date = 17 May 13, hence calculation = -2
Row 3 date = 29 Jan 13, hence calculation = -6
etc
Some sort of month to month comparison resulting in an integer.

I want a macro to hid rows based on a specific value of a cell compared to another.
Example, In a cell I have the current date and time which updates when the the sheet is opened... On a row I have various info including another date in the past. When the date in the past goes over 6 months older than the current date, I want to hide that whole row.
Is this possible? Do I use an IF function in the macro I've seen to remove rows based on cells with specific values?

I have a set of data I need to count.
The data consists of 2 columns essentially, Scheduled Delivery Date and Actual Delivery Date.
If the Delivery was made on time or early, I want to count it. I will do a similar count for Late as well.
Additionally, the user can enter the Scheduled date range they want to count early/on time deliveries from. There all also blanks in the Actual Delivery date column where deliveries have not been made (no actual).
Cells O3:O38 contain the Actual dates
Cells N3:38 contain the Scheduled dates
Cell B3 contains the begin date to start the range.
Cell B4 contains the end date of the range.
I have tried using COUNTIFS and am having trouble getting the formula to work.
I tried:
=COUNTIFS(O3:O38,O3:38<=N3:38,N3:N38 ,>=$B$3,N3;N38<=$B$4)
I know this will not work but I hope it shows the logic I want.Count range O3:O38 where values in O3:O38 are less than or equal to the corresponding cell value in N3:N38, for a range of N3:N38 that is greater than or equal to the date in B3 and less than or equal to the date in B4.

I am trying to compare two colums. They both contain numbers mixed with letters. I am wanting to match only the numbers in both not the letters. Example:
column a = m454 column b = fsh454-1
m543 fst998-2
m998 fsm434-1
my match is m454 and fsh454-1, m998 and fst998-2. The items can be in any order in the column. The end result I want to indicate the match by putting an X by column a item that matches column b.

Assume I have a sheet consisting of 50 rows with 3 columns of figures. A fourth column contains a formula to calculate values, eg A1+B1+C1, on each line/row. I could enter A1+B1+C1 in the first cell and Copy, Paste to the other 49 cells. Alternatively, I replace A1+B1+C1 with a UDF.
Is there any difference in performance with using a UDF compared to using the long-hand/standard approach, or is it just a question of convenience? After all, both are doing the same operation with the same calculation.

I am working on a Random Cycle Count Generator that provides random SKU#s based on 3 separate columns of SKU listings. The user clicks a button to generate the SKU#s to cycle count for that day. What I would like to see is a date stamp in the columns next(B,D,F) to the referenced SKU listing(A,C,E) based on which SKU#s are generated. This will let me see the last date that the SKU was generated. I would also like it to automatically save after generating.

I'm getting the following error:
"Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found"
I wasn't getting that error last night and I'm not sure what I may have done to cause this error.
It seems to be cause by code running on one sheet of my workbook, but I'm not really sure about that. I'm still a bit of a novice at VBA.
I'm using Excel 2002 SP3 and I'm running MS XP Home as my OS.
Do you have any ideas what can cause this error and/or how to trace down the offending objects/code?

I am trying to find some missing values compared to 6 base values. For instance, I have a sheet with some names translated to another language, I am trying to find the languages some names have not been translated too.
For example, if I have six languages, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Chinese-Simplified, Chinese- Traditional, and Korean to compare too, I want to find any names that are not translated in certain languages.
Sample:
John Japanese
John Chinese - Simplified
John Korean
Martin Arabic
Martin Chinese - Simplified

I am trying to develope a "goto" page macro where the page value maybe 1,34,7A, 256C etc. I am not clear on how an inputbox value can be compared to a string variable or a numeric variable at the same time. This is what I have done, but when the texboxvalue is "7A" it doesn't work.

i was assigned to make a computation for our individual scores using this:
EMPLOYEES A-N
inputs:
SURVEY(0-100)
LH(lost hour)
AHT(average handling time)
compute for:
SCORE
RANK
the SCORE has a total of 100%
so to get the SCORE, each input gets a percentage: SURVEY=40% LH=30% AHT=30% then added.
but the thing is LH and AHT has an equivalent.
LH
0 to 1=100
1.1 to 2=90
2.1 to 3=80
3.1 to 4=70
4.1 to 5=60
5.1 above=20......
eXAMPLE:
EMPLOYEE A
SURVEY(0-100) = 33.00
LH(lost hour) = 12.00
AHT(average handling time) = 14.20
SCORE = CODE
RANK = CODE
now for the rank i just use the code =RANK(SCORE A, SCORE A:SCORE N)
im lost on how to compute the SCORE though coz i can just use =((SURVEY*40%)+(LH*30%)+(AHT*30%))
but the one that needs to be on the LH and AHT are the equivalents and not the inputs.
and there is 1st 2nd and 3rd place. the name of the top 3 employees should be shown under the table.

on a stats sheet B10:B15 was trying to make a top 5 list using =LARGE(Week1!S15:S46,1) ... with Large i am able to get my top 5 from the week1 sheet but how can i assign the corresponding top5 persons from column A15:A45 in week1 to the stats sheet in column A10:A15

I am currently working on a score sheet with list of question.
I have:
On Sheet 1 (will be hidden later)
List of 14 questions (e.g. question 1 = 6 possible answers, for answer 1 is score -2, for answer 2 is score 7... etc).
In column C are possible answers, in column D are the score values.
On Sheet 2 (will be visible for participants)
Drop-down list based on Sheet 1 questions (Sheet 1; Column C)
I have set Cell link for each question so when you choose the 3rd answer, there is number 3, but I need to set different values based on Sheet 1, could be that 3rd answer is score 12. I do not know which function to use (I tried IF, but to me it seems too long and difficoult).

I've seen a few bowling formulas within mr. excel but nothing in code. so i tried it and the only problem i have is when a player strikes.....then the code should add the next two balls thrown..... it works if the next two are strikes but not if there is no 'mark'. So basically its not adding the second ball. The code looks right unless I'm just missing something. heres the code....

I have one excel file with three sheets marked 1,2 & 4
Sheet 1. is the place we add the description and the member number. When a member number is entered it gets the member name from sheet 4.
Sheet 2 is the page I need to change. Currently we can enter any score number in each box between 1 to 5. If we try to enter other numbers we get an error message.
I need to change the form so we can enter 1 to 10. Any other number needs to generate the error message.

Should be an easy fix for experts, but I'm not one of those...
I'm trying to create a "scoresheet" in Excel where a racer has a name and an ID number on the main tally worksheet, with columns relating to their scores for each race. Subsequent worksheets have results from each race (one race per sheet), with the individual referenced by their ID number.
How do I have the main tally sheet "find" that person's score for each event in separate columns so that it can add up their totals? I tried an IF formula to find each score in the subsequent sheets, but that didn't work.
Is there a simple formula to do this? I've been achieving the results by importing the worksheets into a Filemaker database (where the ID number "matches" and updates each score), but that's a pain, and I'd rather do it all in Excel.
