Excel 2007 :: Email Current Worksheet And Rename It From Reference To A Cell
Oct 25, 2012
I have the need to email the current worksheet in Excel 2007, which I have been able to do with the following ...
Sub SendTab()
'Declare and initialize your variables, and turn off screen updating.
Dim wks As Worksheet
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Set wks = ActiveSheet
[Code] .......
Is there a way I can also get it to also rename the sheet from the default "Book1" to the information in a referenced cell.
I created one worksheet called: Assumptions. In this worksheet I have 6 different columns representing 6 different cases.
I have completed the first case in a different worksheet called: WL. I would like to copy this case/worksheet WL and be able to change all the reference cells used in case#1: WL to case#2: FA. So all the cells used in my Assumptions worksheet were in the B columns for case 1: WL, for case 2: FA they will all be in the C column, same row, different column.
Any quick way to do the changes?
My case #1 worksheet as over 10 000 formulas, I really don't want to change each and every formula.
I was thinking there was a way to highlight ALL the reference cells used in my Assumption worksheet, so I would have had to drag from B to C cells, only 50 cells. But I can't find it.
I have a workbook that filters the data on the worksheet "Reports" this then adds new worksheets and copies and pastes the relevant data that has been sorted, this is done by the name in column "B".
What I need is to rename the new worksheets with the data that is in cell "B2" of the new sheets.
send the sheet to an email address based on the email address in a cell.
The cell populates from a dropdown list a user selects.
The email will be sent to myself, and one authoriser. If a second authoriser is required then the first authoriser will send this on. I'm trying to make this simple, so when a user clicks a 'send' button on the form this happens automatically.
Nice and easy. So how do I replace that email addres with the email address in a cell? I assume I have to create a DIM to hold the data, then use it to populate the address field?
I am creating a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2007 which holds information about the airline Emirates which I have created using information from the internet. I am currently creating a sheet which has all their flights in and holds information about the departure time and arrival time of the flight and the type of aircraft ect. I am wondering if there is anyway in being able to have the cell which has the flight number in to change colour (Green or Red) if the flight is in the air or not by using the departure and arrival times already set on the sheet. I am wondering if you possibly need to have a live time on the sheet so that it can work with that .....
I have a spreadsheet that I send emails from. Currently I use the .PrintOut command just before .send and it prints the email to the default printer. Instead of printing to the printer i want to print the email to pdf or any file for archive purposes. I would also like the file to be located on a network drive with a file name from a cell in the spreadsheet with todays date. Is this possible?
Currently the code looks like this:
VB: With OutMail .to = sh.Range("A1").Value [code]....

I'm using 2007 Excel and I have a list of 200 JPG files on column A which mirror actual file names of files I have located in C:photos.
My objective is to use Excel 2007 to batch rename all the files located in C:photos from the names listed in column "A" to the names listed in column "B" that I have created.
I am trying to rename a lot of files within 1 folder. The Spreadsheet Column A contains all the old file names within a folder and Column B has the new file name. (1)My code is below but I continue getting an error that the file isn't found. (2) I would like to start with row 2 because row 1 will contain the folder path as a result of another macro.
I am trying to rename a excel table from its file name after importing the data into the current sheet i am working in. Is there a method for going this? I can do it manually easily, but when I try to record myself within a macro, it still uses the file's previous name in the code before renaming it. Using Excel 2007.
show me the visual basic codes that allow me to attach the current saved workbook to an email (just attach, but not to send the file). So basically, just open the Outlook, send to, and attach the file.
If C5 refers to the value in cell C100, C6 refers to the value in C110 ten rows below. C7 refers to C120, ten rows below that and so on. Is there a formula that you use within excel (not a macro) that allows me to copy the C7 formula to C8 so that C8 will reference C130?
I have tried using INDIRECT and OFFSET formulas but cannot do it without an absolute reference to a fixed cell, which defeats the purpose, since I can go into C8 and manually change it to =C130, C9 to =C140 etc.
Currently using Excel 2007 at work and Mac Pro at home. Thought about R1C1 reference, but don't even know how to change to that style on my Mac.
I am fairly new to macros and have trouble with VBA. I have a file with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet contains the name of a specific location in cell A8. I want this name in cell A8 to be the name on the worksheet tab for each worksheet in my file but do not know how to accomplish this. Is that even possible?
I have encountered some difficulty in modifying a macro I wrote into what I need. I created a macro that searches a column (Column C) for a cell value of, "stop", and then it copies everything above that cell and pastes it onto another sheet. In the sample data set that I was using, "stop" first occurred in cell C541, so the macro copies C1:C540 and pastes it onto another sheet. The problem is that the macro created an absolute reference to C540. What I desire is for the macro to use the 'Find' function to locate the first occurrence of, "stop", offset one cell above that cell, and then reference the active cell (which was positioned by these last two steps) in the range that should be copied. Basically, I'm hoping to have cells C1 through the active cell copied and then pasted onto another sheet.
I've done this loads of times before but doing it this morning seems to not be working at all.
Previously I'd be in Sheet 1, I put the equals sign, I click into Sheet 2 in the cell I want, hit enter, and hey presto the external cell is referenced in Sheet 1.
However, what I'm trying to do here is not reference individual sheets within an excel document, but reference a totally separate Excel document. Can I do this or not?
If so how? Because when I select the second worksheet after I've entered the = sign, it just takes me to the second sheet - it doesn't seem to 'remember' that I'm in the middle of a formula.
I am trying to create a budgeting spreadsheet that contains 26 worksheets that represent 2 week expense cycles. The worksheet will tally all the expenses in its 2 week cycle, compare them to a target budget, and calculate the remaining budget. I would like to roll the remaining budget over to the next 2 week budget cycle by having a cell refer to the remaining budget in the previous worksheet.
I am trying to accomplish this using the following VBA script. I get an error (Run-time error 1004: Application-defined or object-defined error) on the 3rd to last line of the code. I think the issue is with how I am constructing the wsReference variable. I have seen other codes do something similar (VBA - How to refer to a different worksheet cell) but I am not having any luck.
Sub Budget_Rollover() Dim i As Long ' Loop through all the worksheets, starting with the second sheet For i = 2 To Worksheets.Count Dim wsReference As String Dim wsName As String ' Define the name of the previous expense cycle worksheet
I have my data in column A as Reminder Description and in column B as Due Date.
I was wishing to send an email using excel 2007 with outlook using excel vba... I want to send email 2 days before due dates and also i want excel to type in when the email was sent... Is this possible....???
A B C D E Reminder Description Due Date Send Email1 Send Email2 Send Email3 Insurance due date is 06/08/14 06/08/14 04/08/14 05/08/14 06/08/14
Also can this vba code be executed whenever workbook opens....???
Sheet 1 contains huge amounts of data - thousands of rows and multiple columns
Sheet 2 - I want to extract the data from sheet 1 column A into sheet 2 column A but only the data from every 21st row.
I want to be able to copy the formula automatically down, otherwise it will take hours to do it manually. So far I can only get the cell reference to increment by 1 each time after copying.
i want to paste a worksheet with amended cell sizes and also some clipart pasted...to another workbook in same style(excel 2007). when i do that, it says 'data on clipboard may not be of same size.......' and paste in different size.
I have 450 names for which I would like to create email addresses. For example:
Name: John Doe Required email address: John.Doe@boston.gov.tr
Is there a way to convert all 450 names in one go so I can then upload to MS Outlook and then send emails to these people? I am using MS Excel 2003 & 2007.
When I open a spreadsheet I get the following message
Excel found unreadable content in Book_Name. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook.
All the information I find says:
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true: The workbook contains a PivotTable that uses key performance indicators (KPIs). The KPIs are created in the Analysis Services Business Intelligence Development Studio. One or more of the KPIs have an expression in the Current Time Member property.
and the fix is : To resolve this issue, remove the expressions from all Current Time Member properties.
My issue is - the spreadsheet with Pivot tables is supplied to me. I am using Excel 2007 - how to remove the expressions?
When I do this on another machine same version of excel I have no issue.
I have a Workbook (Test 1) with several columns A-S. I'd like to be able to continue to add data into Test 1, and have some of the data pulled into a new Workbook (Test 2). Basically pulling data from Test 1, cols. D, L, J, E, I, C, K, Q and S - into the new workbook Test 2.
Some of the columns in Test 1 have conditional formatting and data validations, but I need the data in these columns to be replicated into Test 2 - without having to copy/paste between the 2 workbooks.
I figured how to do this in Excel 2010, but my office is still using 2007 and I can't seem to get it to work....
I am using the following piece of VBA code in Excel 2007 to automatically generate an email when a button is pushed:
Sub SendEMail() Dim Email As String, Subj As String Dim Msg As String, URL As String Dim r As Integer, x As Double r = ActiveCell.Row 'Get the email address Email = Cells(r, 3)
[Code] .....
The button to launch this code sits in cell AK7. What I would like to do is have the macro copy the email address present in cell E7 into the email address section of my created email. In addition I would like the reference provided in cell AJ7 to appear in the Message Subject part of the generated email in the format " RCS Reference contents of cell AJ7".
I'm basically looking for something almost like an inverse function to INDIRECT. This function would first look at a cell's formula as a text string, parse out the first valid cell reference in A1 format, and return that cell as a text string.
Detail: I have a spreadsheet with cells that point to other values. I would like to get only the row number from the first cell reference in the formula residing in a given cell. For example:
Suppose A1 has the formula =AL267. and A2 has the formula =SUM(AL94:AL235)
I would like a formula in B1 that returns the text string, "AL267" so that I would know this is the first reference.
Ideally it could be dragged down to B2 such that it returns the text string "AL94" (and not "AL235") because AL94 is the first cell reference in A2's
Currently I am copying the formulas after hitting ctl+` and pasting that text into a text editor, followed by text operations to manipulate the results into the desired values. Any solution that didn't involve going out to notepad.
Assume I filled some cells of a worksheet (in Excel 2007).
Now I place the cursor in one of the cells and dragged the cursor to the right side. As a result more and more empty columns are automatically added at the right side even I do not enter something. Similarly rows are added at the bottom when cursor is dragged downwards.
Correspondingly the horizontal (and vertical) slider shrinks because the dimensions of the matrix grows.
Is there a menu/function which let me do the opposite?
Something like a trim/shrink function which cuts/deletes all empty columns beginning from the right side resp. rows from the bottom?
EXAMPLE: Complete Sheet called "Day1". When day1 is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day2", then when "Day2" is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day3", and so on and so forth to "Day30".
I am using 2007. This may be something simple but I can't seem to find a solution to this, I have an excel macro enabled workbook which produces a daily report the final task is to save and send an email but I need the file to save as an xls rather than xlsx as some of the recipients are unable to open the file here is the code used for the tasks in the
workbook:Sub Step1_Refresh() ' ' Step1_Refresh Macro ' ' ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll End Sub Sub step2_save_close()

I've set up an email to be sent via a macro (excel 2007 and outlook) and I expanded the body of the message and it now comes up with an error "Compile error: invalid outside procedure"
It was working when I only had 4 lines and now it's not working.
