Excel 2007 :: Extracting Criteria Into Another Worksheet?
Feb 15, 2012Excel 2007. Is there a way to extract information from cells and rows that constantly move? These rows need to be able to cut & paste, copy & Paste, insert and delete. I have the formula I need to display the data, but with the cutting and pasting etc, my formulas get all messed up.
I have the excel sheet on Google docs. It displays some cells wrong because it does not recognize certain formulas.

On the second worksheet, I want the information from columns A, H, M, N, and O to be extracted at a certain time each evening and sent to a worksheet, without sending duplicates. These rows will constantly move which is why my current setup, which is just to display the information, will not work... We decided to try to extract it into a different worksheet or workbook if possible.

Feb 20, 2012I am looking for a way to extract all of the unique items in a Pivot Table. For example, I have a Pivot Table that has category A items and category B items. There may be several B items to one A. For example:
A0
B1
B2
B3A1
B3
B4
B5
Now, what I need is a list that looks like this:
A0 - B1
A0 - B2
A0 - B3
A1 - B3
A1 - B4
A1 - B5
Formatted so that those are two columns. However, in Excel 2007, I cannot set the option to have it repeat the A series items in the Pivot table. Is there some easier way to do this?

Jun 2, 2013I am trying to extract values from a text string and add them up in Excel 2007. So far i have been successful in extracting the value out of the text string like this - =MID(I6,AD6,3) where AD6 holds the position number in the text string to start from. So it's working OK for one row but i need to do the same thing on multiple rows where the text string can be in different columns and I'd like it to automatically pick up the non-blank cell.
each row only has one column with text in it and the value i need to extract is always after "$". this is a working spreadsheet so the text string could move from column to column over time and I'd like my formula to be able to detect which column to read from. I then need to add up all the values from each row.
Excel 2007 :: Date Filtering - Change Date Format Supplied By Date Picker
Apr 24, 2012I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?

May 25, 2012I am trying to calculate the length of time of employment. I am looking for a formula to subtract the date of hire from the date of termination.
My current example is:
5/24/12 - 11/3/10 = 568
There is a problem with my formula as the answer of 568 is currently meaningless. How do I convert this?

For example I want to create a spreadsheet for my soccer players and have them sorted into teams according to their birthdays. So if their birthday falls into the following date range: 08/01/05-07/01/07 a U-8 or U-10 would be displayed in the corresponding cell. I tried working with the IF function.

In column B3:B367, I have dates for every day of the year. In column D3:D367, I have body weight for every day of the year. This gets filled in on a daily basis.
What I'm looking to do:
1. Find the first daily weight for the month.
2. Find today's weight.
3. See if today's weight falls within the specified month.
4. Compare the first daily weight of the month with today's weight.
I am able to accomplish #1 with LOOKUP, #2 with LOOKUP, and #4 with IF/THEN. For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how to do #3.

Jun 26, 2013In the workbook the sheet names are month names e.g. july,august,September etc and 1st of each month is to be entered in a cell in each the sheets. By some trial and error I wrote this macro

This worked in July sheet it is written as 7/1/2013 and in august sheet it is 8/1/2013 etc Then I shortened the macro like thlis

It worked. Even if I use shortened 3 letter form of month like "Jul" or "aug" then also it works
But if type on the spreadsheet itself

It Gives value error.
Perhaps it works only in vba and not spreadsheet.
I accept nobody is going to use "july" & "/1/2013" instead of 7/1/2013 But this will be useful if sheet names are month names so that when we write the date we can use sheet names Mine excel 2007 and windows 7.

'Jan 12, 2012 12:00:00 AM'
If I double-click in the cell the cursor is after the AM. When I click outside of the cell, the date time stamp changes to 1/12/2012.
My question is, how to change the entire column so that all data gets converted to short date (mm/dd/yyyy) and thereby making it a data sortable field.

Jul 10, 2012I need to insert a date modified column to an Excel 2007 workbook I am currently using. The columns range is from A to L, with about a hundred data points. However, I would like to have the date modified cell update only when there are changes to rows F through L, starting with row 3.
I need the code to still function if I add rows, and it would be great if it would also still run if I added columns, but that part is not necessary. I've gotten close by defining a cell name as myCol and using this code:

I want in intimation date cell, cell contain the date which is 5 days before the start date and the cell/text(date) blink until the start date come. if the task completed in the defined completion date, "complete in time" is written automatically in remarks column, and if completion date is after the set completion date for the task "delay in completion" written automatically in remarks column.

Dec 24, 2012I have a question about conversion of a text format into date format.
2 computers, the first windows vista, the second Windows 8, both Excel 2007.
The purpose is to calculate the difference between 2 dates with hour:minutes:seconds, like for example:
18/12/2012 19:20:00 and 18/12/2012 19:23:03.
So in this example the result should be 00:03:03.
Both dates are formatted with 'personalized' : dd/mm/yyyy hh/mm.
In the first computer everything works like it should, but in the second it is apparently impossible to transform the first of those date h:m:s which is originally in a text format into a date format. I tried all the methods which i found to transform a text date format into a date , like multiplication with 1, Datevalue and others, but nothing seems to work, the result is always "#Value".

I have tried to Format Cells and change the date format to the slash but after highlighting a number of fields and right clicking they will not re format. Though i use Excel quite a bit i am a general user and dont understand it in depth.

Mar 15, 2013I have a set of data points with date and time shown in the picture. I need to take out all the data point that are at the 30 min interval. Meaning I only want to have the data points hourly only. What can I do to remove the :30 minute datas.
I have tried the find option typing In :30 and getting all the points but then have to replace, which I do not want to do. Need to remove them so they do not show up on the trends ( graphs) I made for them.
This is for excel 2007.
Seems I can't get picture up on the ipad, so the data points look like this

And so on for an entire year. Just need to remove the ones with the :30
