To Get A Popup Message

May 23, 2007

I'd like to have a warning message pop up if the value of column AF is 3 or less.

Column AF is counting entries in columns E:I by using the formula

=COUNTBLANK(E1:I1)

to create the value

A value of 5 is OK (no data in E to I), and 4 is also fine (just one entry in E to I) A value of 3 or less, indicating more than one column in E to I having data, needs to display the message. Presently I have a conditional format on another column to display red background when AF is 3 or less, but it's a little ambiguous, so a message would be neater!

UserForm As Popup Message While Calculating

Jun 3, 2009

I am building a macro that deals with a lot of data and takes several minutes to run. I want to display a message to the user stating "Calculating..." while the calculating is taking place. I got the idea to use a userForm with a label on it. The problem is that excel waits for input from the userform before continuing the calculations.

How do I display the userform, continue doing the calculations, and then hide the userform when the calculations are complete? (without any input from the user)

Code:

[Code]...

This works fine, but I always get a message saying:

"Data on the Clipboard is not the same size and shape as the selected area. Do you want to paste the data anyway?"

The method completes when I click OK, but I am having to do this hundreds of time as there are a lot of files to be created. Is there a way to stop this message?

Popup Message With Required Information

Dec 19, 2006

Im trying to come up with a popup message That informs the user that the quanity they entered is not divisible by 12. Here is what I got so far:

The Range("D" & Target.Row) = "6' PANELS WITH STANDS"( this is the item chosen by the user via a drop down)
Then they enter the quanity in Range("A" & Target.Row)

So if the item chosen in Column "D" is "6' PANELS WITH STANDS" and they enter the quanity in Column "A" and it is not divisible by 12 you would then get the message letting you know that.

Worksheet Popup Message Shown 5 Times

Nov 23, 2012

I'm using the code below to form part of staff resource spreadsheet, but I'm having a little difficulty with a piece of the script.

Code:
Option Explicit
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim rInt As Range, res As Variant
Dim cell As Range

Sheets("Input").Protect "password", UserInterFaceOnly:=True, AllowFiltering:=True

[Code] ....

The piece of the script which I'm having difficulty with is this:

Code:
For Each cell In Range("B7:B400")
If cell.Value = "No" Then
MsgBox "If " & cell.Offset(0, 1).Value & " has left R&D, please remember to delete any future resource forecasts"
End If
Next

When the cell value has changed to 'No' the pop up message appears, but for some strange reason the message is shown 5 times, despite their being only one record.The other problem I have is if I add another record and change the value to 'No' in column B, the message is shown twice, once for the previous record and the second for the new.

If B2 > B1, then the popup should say "value exceeded in row 2"

Code:
Sheets.Add After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Sheets("Sheet1").Move Before:=Sheets(6)
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Sheets("Sheet1").Name = "BMW"

Excel 2007 :: Filter And Popup From Second Sheet?

Apr 22, 2013

I have been tasked with overhauling some simple inventory records that are currently being tracked via multiple spreadsheets and in multiple formats over various years. Thus far I have combined the data into two simple sheets (1 & 2) of the same Excel workbook. The first is just the basic listing of current inventory and locations. The second is a record listing various shipments into and out of the company location as a history log. I'm going to be continually trying to clean up the data and make things easier for the staff. The shipping history/log (Sheet 2) contains basic information in columns that include the serial numbers of the items shipped, which correspond to the S/N's in the global list columns within the inventory sheet(1). I would like to find a way to set up where a column in the inventory creates upon click (or have a maco button with the ability to) a popup which will display the history of the current rows serial number. In effect, list all rows in the second sheet with corresponding serial number or as a reverse strategy; filter out the rows that do not have the same S/N listed in one of its columns.

A piece of inventory comes in and is logged into the global inventory sheet (1) with Serial # ks1254. Likewise the shipping sheet (2) has the shipping information and document info logged with the same serial # listed. This is item has arrived and been shipped out multiple times, and occasionally the history of this item is requested. I have a column set aside in sheet 1, that i would like to act as a trigger for the above request. So if I filter and find the mention item, I would like the trigger to go and select out only the rows in sheet 2 that correspond to the S/N of the item in question. This can be presented as a pop up tab, a small window, even as a new sheet altogether I suppose. I guess I'm using Excel 2007, have a very dated limited VB skill set, so just hoping for some direction and steps.

Excel VBA - Create Popup Window With Instructions For Worksheet

Mar 10, 2014

How to use an Excel worksheet I have, so I decided to make a button with a macro, which when clicked a kind of message box pops up and you can read the tutorial. When you are done you just press ok and the pop up window closes.

I know about vba I just have to use msgbox, keep on adding lines with the text and that's it! But after many attempts I found out that it ain't that easy.

[Code] ......

So I made something like this:

[Code] ....

but at a point I got this error: "Too many lines continuations".

I wanna make something that looks a bit like this: p69pxC8.jpg

But way simpler, with my text, a scroll bar to roll up and down to read and an ok button at the end. I don't need special text with hyperlinks or anything at all, plain text does the job.

It just now crossed my mind, would it be viable to also add a "Print" button next to the "Ok" button in the pop up windows with the tutorial, so when the "Print" button is clicked, the tutorial is printed?

Excel 2007 :: VBA Message Box With Criteria

Dec 13, 2013

I have a spreadsheet that monitors employees rest periods between shifts across a number of weeks I've started writing a very basic piece of code so if the employee has less than 12 hours rest, a message box will appear with a warning:

So far this is what I've done:

Sub RestHours()
If Range("I7") < #12:00:00 PM# Then
MsgBox "Candidate has had less than 12 hours rest since last shift worked. Please find another candidate to work this shift", vbOKOnly, "Unable to Use Candidate!"

Now this does work if I run the macro and then enter the data into cell I7, however I'm now stumped - How can I make it so that this message box pops up automatically when the data is entered into the cell without me have to go in and run the macro?

I also need the macro to run all the way down the I column (I7:I100) and across other columns which will eventually contain the same data i.e. M7:M100, Q7:Q100, all the way across to AT7:AT100?
