I am very new to programming in excel, so bear with me. I need to have a window that pops up when you load excel. I need it to say something like
If A2 > A1, then the popup should say "value exceeded in row 1"
If B2 > B1, then the popup should say "value exceeded in row 2"
If both of the statements above are true, then I would like both of the errors to be in the same window/popup, instead of two seperate ones. I hope thats clear.
How to use an Excel worksheet I have, so I decided to make a button with a macro, which when clicked a kind of message box pops up and you can read the tutorial. When you are done you just press ok and the pop up window closes.
I know about vba I just have to use msgbox, keep on adding lines with the text and that's it! But after many attempts I found out that it ain't that easy.
[Code] ......
So I made something like this:
[Code] ....
but at a point I got this error: "Too many lines continuations".
I wanna make something that looks a bit like this: p69pxC8.jpg
But way simpler, with my text, a scroll bar to roll up and down to read and an ok button at the end. I don't need special text with hyperlinks or anything at all, plain text does the job.
It just now crossed my mind, would it be viable to also add a "Print" button next to the "Ok" button in the pop up windows with the tutorial, so when the "Print" button is clicked, the tutorial is printed?
Just want to know if is possible control a popoup window through a VBScript Macro in excel? I don't know if I could click a button from a PopUp when it appears? I mean I cant go forward because a popup message appears and I dont know how take the control of it.
I mean how can the parent window take the control of the child window (popup window)
I am struggling with work-schedule worksheet and I want to do this:
In my attached sample worksheet are cells coresponding to a day of the month (monday to sunday, and so on...), and cell for job positions. Each day I must assign 5 employees to a different job position (job positions are on drop down lists).
When I select first job (on specific day), I want a pop-up window where would show what job I have allready selected and what job hasn't been selected so far.
How can I do that, is It possible in VBA coding, maybe with Listbox or CheckedListbox.
when opening Excel, a popup window appears with a question. you can then enter a value to answer the question in the popup window. then you can press enter, another window will popup with another question etc. the values you've entered will be inserted to the excel body appropriately. for example,
popup window with question: "What is your name?" your answer "John Doe" popup window with question: "What is DOB?" your answer "1/1/2009"
the two values will be inserted as below: this is John Doe. My DOB is 1/1/2009.
The code snippet below is to import a sheet into my main template. Right now, the code looks for the file in the same directory as the template, if the file is not there, a message box pops up advising the user when OK is pressed (see red lines), the workbook closes. However, in order to make my program more user friendly, I would like to add some more functionality to the code, so I would like to have a windows file browser window pop up where the user can browse for the file and select it in whatever directory it is.
Can this window be created in VBA?
Sub ImportFile()
Dim sourceFile As String Dim firstDestFile As String
sourceFile = "Client Data Dashboard Template.xlsm"
I need to do a macro that will open a search window, the user would select a folder and it will search for a .csv file within it. Then after locating the file, it would automatically load it into a specific sheet in the workbook.
MS Word allows a person to turn off email addresses so that you have to press the Ctrl key then left click the mouse. This makes sure that every time a person touches a cell that it does not automatically load that address into Outlook. Is the same possible in Excel 2003?
i am working with a large data set of excel files . I need to format the sheets in a specified way . i have recorded a marco that does this . I now have the problem of creating an automatic loader that opens the files , carrys out my macro , then closes the files.
For example i have a folder X that has 10 files inside it. i would like to be able to load the first file , carry out the macro, close the file move it folder y . Then look back into Folder X , take the first file it see's , carry out the macro , close the file , move it folder y , the go back to folder x and carrying out this until all the files are done and stopping when the folder is empty
I would like to add a makro that will ask, through a pop-up, to name a new sheet.I have the following formula that creates a new sheet and names it BMW and moves it around a little bit:
But I would like a formula that asks beforehand, through a pop-up, of a preferred name. In this case I will write BMW in the pop-up, and the new sheet will be named BMW.
I have a worksheet with 3 cells in it. One cell is "Total", the second cell is "Adjustment" and the third cell is "Variance".
How can I create a popup message that states "Adjustment is Below the Total" and show the variance in the Variance cell in the event that the Adjustment value is below the Total value ?
I am in need of a macro. I have a column with Image No.s around 900. What i want is as soon as i click on a image No. in a cell, the image has to pop up in excel itself(Not in particular cell). The images are in separate folder in the same directory. I have to view the images only(not inserting). Just Pop up the image and as soon as i click on next image no. macro has to remove the old image and in that place new image has to pop up.
I have been tasked with overhauling some simple inventory records that are currently being tracked via multiple spreadsheets and in multiple formats over various years. Thus far I have combined the data into two simple sheets (1 & 2) of the same Excel workbook. The first is just the basic listing of current inventory and locations. The second is a record listing various shipments into and out of the company location as a history log. I'm going to be continually trying to clean up the data and make things easier for the staff. The shipping history/log (Sheet 2) contains basic information in columns that include the serial numbers of the items shipped, which correspond to the S/N's in the global list columns within the inventory sheet(1). I would like to find a way to set up where a column in the inventory creates upon click (or have a maco button with the ability to) a popup which will display the history of the current rows serial number. In effect, list all rows in the second sheet with corresponding serial number or as a reverse strategy; filter out the rows that do not have the same S/N listed in one of its columns.
A piece of inventory comes in and is logged into the global inventory sheet (1) with Serial # ks1254. Likewise the shipping sheet (2) has the shipping information and document info logged with the same serial # listed. This is item has arrived and been shipped out multiple times, and occasionally the history of this item is requested. I have a column set aside in sheet 1, that i would like to act as a trigger for the above request. So if I filter and find the mention item, I would like the trigger to go and select out only the rows in sheet 2 that correspond to the S/N of the item in question. This can be presented as a pop up tab, a small window, even as a new sheet altogether I suppose. I guess I'm using Excel 2007, have a very dated limited VB skill set, so just hoping for some direction and steps.
I am writing code in Excel VBA and trying to control power-point. at the end there is message-box pop up. Everything runs fine.
But at the end I have go bottom windows bar and click on the excel file then message box comes up, otherwise excel tag keeps blinking at the bottom. I want to add something to code so message box in excel file is pop-up automatically without me clicking on excel file.
Recently my friend forced Excel to close through Task Manager by Ending the Proccess... Since he did that, every .xls(x) file do not opens. No errors. Just Excel Icon on taskbar appears.... as it is minimized... But it doesn't minized.. Either this icon on a taskbar is minimized Excel icon, or this just an icon ....
I am in a middle of creating macro that makes some calculations in a file downloaded from SAP.
This Macro is in a form of a userform with 8 optionBoxes more then10 Option Buttons then after clicking on a specific button a certain action is being performed it looks like this:
Capture.JPG - PicShot.pl
The code is in one file and I would like the macro operations to be performed on data that are in separate file. Both are open while perforing macro action, and sometimes I'm getting a stop because macro is being performed in a file with code.
Referencing it with something like:
Windows(FN).activate where FN is defined as the name of a file that is being prepared by "Prepare Template" button.
When I copy a cell with CTRL-C and paste elsewhere, a small clipboard pop-up appears to give paste options. The pop-up is the size of an average 'starter' cell. I find it a nuisance as it always covers a cell I might want to paste into, but I cannot see that cell anymore because of the pop-up. How can I get rid of the pop-up?
I have a spread sheet that I have written that has 2 html links in it. The links work, but they only open in one browser tab. How do I get them to open in different tabs? Opening in two different browser sessions would be acceptable too. I have Excel 2007 and IE 9 but the users may have different versions.
I'm working on an Excel workbook that is opened by a batch file, updates information, copy and pastes that information to PowerPoint, and closes itself after spending two minutes idle. This is all for an employee communication monitor that runs 24/7. However, I don't like that the Excel spreadsheet displays on the monitors for two minutes every time it opens and runs.
Right now I was using the bit of code below to minimize the workbook when it was done copying and pasting the information. It works fine for the monitors, but the application is not visible in the Taskbar.
Sub Workbook_Open() ... Application.Visible = False End Sub
Is there anyway to minimize the workbook while keeping the window visible in the taskbar?
