i have a list of surnames in column A in a spreadsheet i want to use this for the source of the combo box also i want this list to be unique and if the surname is not present i want to be able to put the name in the combo box and add it to the sheet
I have a combobox whose list is filled with different ranges, on different sheets, selectable using option buttons. The code is shown below:
Private Sub OptionButton1_Click() Dim ray Dim Last ray = Sheets("Trades").Range("B2:B500") If OptionButton1 = True Then With ComboBox1 .List = ray .ListIndex = 0 End With End If End Sub
I need to create a drop-down (or a combo list) list based on a column in a separate worksheet (in the same workbook). The values in the column have many duplications, and I simply want the combo box to return a unique list.
After trying this using various options like drop-down boxes, combo boxes etc it does not seem to work. A drop-down box will return a complete list (including all of the duplicates). In addition the drop-down was linked to a cell and the value returned to the cell was a number based on the position in the list when what I actually wanted was the text. For example - my list in Worksheet 2:
PETS Cat Dog Dog Cat Horse Rabbit...
In Worksheet 1 if I choose 'Dog' from my Combo box (or drop-down) along with showing all of the duplicates it returns '3', instead of what I want 'Dog' and no duplicates.
I have a user form with a group of several option buttons. When an optionbutton is selected, programatically, I want a worksheet's named column to be parsed through to find unique entries and then have those entries passed to the form's combobox. I've spent the last hour searching for an answer but to no success
I have 2 columns of data on Sheet2. The first is Product in column B. The second is Benefit in column C.
I need to look at product column B on Sheet2 and add unique items to my first Combobox after the command Userform1.show.
The person using the form will select a product from Combobox1 and then Combobox2 should add the corresponding Benefits from the benefits column on Sheet2.
As a side note: I expect products and benefits will continue to be added to columns B and C in the future so I can't have a "hard-coded" set of rows if that makes sense.
I've pasted a small 2 product example of Sheet2 below.
ProductBenefit Account DefenderLoss of Life Account DefenderDisability Account DefenderInvoluntary Unemployment Account DefenderLeave of Absence Account SecurityLoss of Life Account SecurityDisability Account SecurityInvoluntary Unemployment Account SecurityLeave of Absence Account SecurityHospitalization Account SecurityNursing Home
I am using the method below to fill a list or combo box. It works but is slow when there are to many entries.
Is there a more elegant way to do this? I heard there was a method using the Excel filter function that makes the whole procedure below not necessary....
I am trying to create a form with a combobox drop down menu. The list I need displayed is in cells C4:C20 but I only want to show unique values not all of them.
I have five comboboxes in userform1, they are link to Column A, Column B, COlumn E, Column G and Column Z of "Reference" worksheets respectively. The values in each column could contain duplicate values. However, I'd like to only display the unique values in those combo boxes and I have no clue how to achieve this.
Populate Adv Filter Criteria from Inputbox with valid data
I've set up a macro to extract 3 different sets of data using Advanced Filter (same data range, different criteria & extract ranges)
There are multiple options (different individual dates) to satisfy the criteria (a date) for each of the 3 extracts and I want the user to select the criteria (a specific date) from the range of unique values in the data range upon which the Advanced Filter criteria is going to be applied. (A bit like the effect provided by Autofilter)
My initial attempt was to capture the criteria date from the user and populate a cell, and then have a vlookup function in another cell check if that crieteria value exists in the specified range. I then ran a loop in the VBA code until the value is valid (ie. exists in the range). However, to streamline this I was hoping to allow the user to see a list of the valid (available) dates when they respond to my Inputbox request for the criteria.
in A1 there will be a box with LinkedCell set to A1 and ListFillRange set to B1:B5. I now want a similar box in A2, with A2 as LinkedCell. However, when I copy paste the box in A1, it still refers to A1 and B1:B5 (the last part is ok). I can easily change A1 to A2 by just changing it in the properties, but the thing is that I also need these boxes in A3:A100. Someone else helped me out by writing some code, but this is not working correctly yet, probably because I'm doing something wrong.
Also, the ListFillRange might expand in the future. Therefor I would like to know if its possible to select the boxes in A1:A100 and change the ListFillRange to B1:B6 for all at once, or even have a piece of code attached to a command button that recognizes the expanded range and updates it.
I couldn't attach the file because it was to big, therefor I uploaded it with yousendit: [url]
So in short: I would like all the comboboxes in column E to be linked to the cell underneath and have and option to adjust the listfillrange. The same for column F, but for this one the listfillrange needs to be O8:O11.
i want to use a listbox or combobox on a userform with the values coming from column A in the MAIN sheet. what i need is if the colour i want is not there i type the new colour in it then adds the value to the end of values in coloumn A and too the list for the next time i use the userform. is it possible to do this and how?
I have a userform (uf_PaxInput) with a Combobox (cmb_flight_dest) which I am trying to populate from a worksheet range ("Dest") using the following code:
VB: Sub LoadForm() With uf_PaxInput.cmb_flight_dest For Each Item In Range("Dest") .AddItem Next Item End With uf_PaxInput.Show End Sub
The code seems to run okay however whent the form loads the combobox drops down to show only blank items to select. These blank items number them same number of items that are in my named range ("Dest").
I have created a User form with Combobox's, which in turn look up cell references in another sheet. In order to make maintainence of the combobox's as easy as possible I'd like the look up as many cells as possible, therefore anyone can easily add additional text to go into the user forms. However I don't want the blank spaces to show until something has been added.
i have a range name (9 columns) and i filter for a certain type (Shrub) and i would like to only fill the combobox (on a form) with the filtered selection...?
i'm writing a refrigeration selection user interface, working from values on an excel spreadsheet. how to get the programme to automatically select a value from a list or range once a user has selected corresponding value from a list within a combobox. for example if a user sets the temperature of their refrigerator to -5 celsius i need the programme to automatically select the corresponding value of enthalpy for the air at that temperature.
I'm trying to fill a list with some hard values. When I use the macro recorder it adds formula="choice 1;choice 2; etc", these are all separate values in the list. However if I use this within a macro I only have one option with all three values combined.
I like to use the combo box (Active X control). where I need to provide the range/List in the properties. While inputing the value in properties it is disappeared.
I am trying to work up a referral tracker for my wife's employer. I have Named Ranges on sheet 2, a running log on sheet 1. I also have a userform that is being populated from the ranges on sheet 2. I have the project mostly functional, except for a feature I would like to add in. I am interested in adding to the named range that is being accessed if the entry is not in list, via the combobox1 on the userform. Also, if possible, I would like the list to re-sort behind the scenes so the added entry is properly located in A-Z format for next time. After searching the web a bit, I found some code that might work with some tinkering, but currently I am having issues with it. Here is the bit I am trying to use.
[Code] ....
I have been getting 424 Object Errors and a few others as I continue to mess with this. I am also attaching the project if someone may see a better way of getting the task accomplished. The overall scope of this is to log all referral sources so monthly and yearly reports could be made.
i had a user form with a Combo box, list box, text box and a command button. I need the code that works upon selecting:
1)An Item from the combo box should display the list in the list box.
eg: If Country is selected from the combobox then the list box should contain all the names of the countries from the country Column
2)An item should be added to the list in the worksheet when an item is entered in the textbox.
Like wise, when an item is selected from the combobox from "Delete Items List" all the items relating to the item selected from the combobox should be displayed in the list box and a choice to delete the items relating to the combobox item should be provided.
I am trying to find a way to create a list of unique items from a named range. I have found a few solutions using filters for ranges that are contained in the one column but not named ranges that contain multiple rows and multiple columns.
Is there any way to copy all of the unique items from the named range to another location? Lets call the named range Table1 and it spans from B2 to J100.
I am preparing a template for which I need a combo box. Becaue it is a template I can't have this combo box any specific input range. Because I won't know how long the data column (that wiill be used for input range) will be.
Also the data column will have many duplicates but the combo box needs to show uniques only.
How can i fill my combo with the values i have stored on myarray?
Code: Sub help() Dim x As Single Dim myarray() myarray = Array("QQ", "BBBB", "CCCC", "QWERTY", "ASDFG", "ZXCVB") Dim Combob As OLEObject Set Combo = ActiveSheet.OLEObjects("Combo1")'dropdown("combo1")
I have a spreadsheet dealing with orders made by customers and the delivery of the items they have ordered.
When I have delivered the items to a customer I need to note down that their order has been delivered. I also need to enter the date on which it has been delivered. I have created a user form in which I select the order number of that particular order from a combobox and state whether or not it has been delivered, this is either a "yes" or "no" selected from another combobox. I then have to note the date in a text box on which the items were delivered.
My problem is getting the answer "yes" or "no" and the date to fill in on the worksheet next to the corresponding order number.
I am trying to find a quicker way to populate a ComboBox with every possible font available to the user on their particular computer in a manner other than simply using a ton of .AddItem statements.
Is it at all possible to get a user created ComboBox to essentially function the same way that the ComboBox for selecting font works normally? Or is it necessary to go through and add the statements myself?
I am creating a interface to specify default settings, one of which is font.
Using a combobox with dropdown choice you can select today or yesterday. After this i want to fil in cell A1 the date (now) if choose today, and date (-1) if choosen yesterday. I attach a test sheet with this post.
