What I would like to be able to do is highlight the four 50's and fill down, but I would like for it to increment and paste the next four filled like this:

If its a macro that'll be required I'd like to to be able to change the number of rows to be repeated (4 in this case, but could change).
I have a workbook that has a few data sheets and a summary sheet. On this summary sheet I have to grab data from the data sheets which is in the same row number but different column (always 5 to the right of the previous one).
Eg: Person's Name is in Row 10, Col E (E10), the next name is in J10, then O10, etc. This carries on past Column Z. For each person there is a bunch of other data which is in the same format (set row but 5 over for column).
Since row stays the same i thought i could absolute reference that and then leave column as relative and drag down. This works but only if I drag to the right (across columns) and only if i need to increment by 1.
I have data in several rows whereby my column D looks like this:

Throughout the week, additional data is added to the rows, thus creating blank cells within this D Column:

Is there a macro i can run which will re increment only the blank cells to look something like this?"

I have been frustrated trying figure out what I would assume is actually a pretty simple solution. All I am trying to do is grab a set of cells and repeat them down the column a set number of times. The 2 forms of this are discribed below.
A: I have a set of numbers from A1 to A51 I want to repeate those numbers down the columns 84 times.
B: In addition to this I need to have the cells from B1 to B51 Repeat 84 times but with an increment of 200 each time. So I would have say 1 in B1 - B51 and in B52 - B102 it would turn into 201 and so on and so forth.
When I have a text field, such as 123 Main Street, Suite 456 and I copy it down, I get

123 Main Street, Suite 458
What is this feature called, and how do I turn it off?

The (A1, A2, etc.) are cell ranges and already contain the concatenate function that pulls data from a different location. The problem I am having is when I
highlight and fill down, it doesn't increment the cell by +1 (Ex. A1 beomes A2) but instead by +3 (A1 becomes A4) the number of lines highlighted.
I have got the following problem. I have got a table which looks like this:

When I mark the selected cells and scroll down using the autofill option I get this:

Why does it give A6? I want A2 instead of A6 because I want to create a table from A1 to A500 but without these jumps from A1 to A6.
There are two columns of data. Column A is "Group name" and is initially empty. Column B is a list of words
Here is what I am trying to do:
1) prompt the user for 3 input values
2) input value 1 and 2 are COMMON words that i wish to filter through in column B with "filter contains" value 1 or value 2
3) after the filter, i wish to select ALL VISIBLE cells in column A and append the Group Name to each cell
new data goes into the report, the pivot table looks at a dynamic range and confirmed that the range doesn't select any empty cells.
Just wrote a macro to fill missing cells with a data on workbook open.
all the data is date form, yet still when i refresh the pivot table i look my montly grouping, when i try to group again it says "unable to group"
I am trying to write VBA code that groups cells between blank rows and inserts a message if a string of text (a name) is missing from the entire group. I want the code to search cells in column A and group the cells between blank cells. Use the name I input in an input box as the search criteria and insert a message in the Column C next to the last blank cell in the group and then move on to the next group and highlight the cell in red with bold text. I am including a spreadsheet with an example of what the sheet should look like before and after the code is run.

I've had a look at the format settings of the column and they are formatted as date fields.
I have several groups of data in the same sheet. Each group has two blank rows above the first row of data. Each group has column "B" in common (e.g., "Phone" in the example attached). I'd like to add a title/label of "Phone" to the first column in the row immediately preceding the first row of data for that group.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are groups of similar ID numbers in Column J. For a group of similar ID numbers in consecutive rows there is only one row that has a number greater than 0 in its Column L cell and the rest of the cells of Column L for that set of similar IDs is filled with 0s.
First for that unique ID group I need to find out which row is it that has a value greater than zero in its Column L cell.
Then I need to use that value to fill the rest of the 0s in Column L corresponding to that set of Unique IDs.
The process continues with identifying similar IDs in Column J and this time doing the same thing for their Column M. I have attached a sample file that shows the data and how the results need to look like.
how to use the group box to group a number of option buttons together.
Question is, lets say, i have a total of 4 group box. if i want it to work in such a way where by once 2 option buttons are being selected (1 option selected from each group box), the rest of the option buttons in the 4 group box will be greyed out. is that possible?

In Col X of the attachment, I have manually entered the count of the rows within each sub group, as determined by the counter in Col W. How can I do this automatically? I need this because when I filter the spread sheet by Rank, I need to know how many selections, of the filter Rank query, were in a sub group of ? number.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this massive spreadsheet, with the maximum rows excel will fit on one sheet. In the interest of simplicity, this is what the raw data looks like:

What I want to do is automatically get excel to group all the same names together. Then I want it to sum all the values for each name, then order by largest total value for each person, then order that by name alphabetically. In other words, the above would look like this after the sort:

Jones Jim $1000
Jones Jim $200
Jones Jan $300
White Jon $200
White Jon $100
Or, if necessary, there could be sum total rows under each name...although I don't have spare rows, so IDK. I could delete some rows if I had to, but would rather not.
Conditional formatting. I want to change the color of a group of cells based on data in another group of cells. Example:
If cells G8 and G9 (which are merged) are between 80% and 94%, then I9,I10,I11 (which are merged) will turn Yellow. Also, under the same scenario, IF G8 and G9 is greater than 94%, then cells I9, I10, I11 will turn Red.
how to enter data in non-adjacent cells using a fill command.
Here is what I am trying to do:
in the column, I am holding ctrl button to select every 10th cell down the sheet. I need to enter a date in every selected cell that is exactly 7 days apart, i.e., 11/7/08 then 11/14/08 then 11/21/08, etc.... but no other dates or data.
I have tried to figure out a way to do this other than manually, but am confounded.
Is there anyway to automatically fill the empty added cell after inserting a row without using the fill handle? For example, for a series of numbers: [URL]

I am currently working on a project and want to use a picture of a cauldron and have that filled in as opposed to a bar graph filled with cauldron pictures. Is this possible? I picture something similar to how someone would fill a picture on a piece of paper until they hit their goal.
Secondly, If I need to do a bar graph I know I can do conditional formatting on the values within their cells but can I create this formatting specifically to the graphs themselves?
I want to take the date value of a cell, add one day to it and paste it to another sheet's cell. For example if Sheets("x").range("i4").value is 12/12/1999. I want to add a day to it (13/12/1999) and then paste it to Sheets("y").range("d3").value

I have a table... One of my cells is called Capacitors and the number of the cell is 202600. This is the default value. How can i increment this value?
For example:
I have capacitors in one cell with this value => 202600.
But I want to put capacitors in another cell and i want the value to be 202600 + 1 => 202601

I currently have a spreadsheet that parses a HL7 message string using "|" as a delimiter. The String that comes before the first "|" becomes the sheet name (Segment). The code executes on each line of the string (Each segment is parsed). The problem is that sometimes there are multiple segments with the same name. So instead of a new sheet being created, all segments are lumped into the same sheet with that name. What I am trying to do is have the code create a new sheet for each segment and if there it is already present, add sheet name with an incremented number.
So given the sample message The MSH, SCH, PID, PV1 etc sheets are fixed. The DoHL7Parsing routine takes the line and parses it out in the existing sheet. The problem I'm having is lines that are the same such as AIP get lumped into one sheet. What I would like to happen is have AIP1,AIP2,AIP3,AIP4,AIP5 and AIP6. Each with the line parsed out. These are parsed by segment not fields. I want to be able to recognize the existing sheets and create new sheets if multiple segments with the same name are being parsed.

I have a value in cell P1 and is always -ve.
This value is calculated by some tedious calcualtion in some other part of the sheet.
By entering value in Cell P2, the value in cell P1 will progress towards +ve number.
What i want is a formula or Macro to increment the value in Cell P2 by 0.01
until value in Cell P1 becomes +ve...
Below is the example of my manual calculation.
When i have
P2=0 P1=-23.58
P2=0.01 P1=-14.78
P2=0.02 P1= -9.30
P2=0.03 P1= -2.92
P2=.04 P1= 1.05
Since i have achieved P1 to be positive, calculation should stop with value in P2=0.04
I have to do this for 31 column and hence manually doing it takes long time
