I now understand that there's a way to remove the activate statements, while still selecting that document to work with, and therefore greatly increasing the speed.

I am trying to find text in one workbook and paste it into another. I've tried a Vlookup, and now I'm trying a Find, and neither is working.

This macro works fine on my machine but not with other users:
This should copy/paste certain cells then paste 3 sheets into a new work book.
ON other computers it seems to paste in a picture? works OK for me?

I've been doing various searches for past few hours and can't seem to find out if one its even possible, the closet I've found on here is to copy row to another workbook.
My question is I have one excel book called level1.xls and another excel book level2.xls, now in level1.xls I have a row of fields filled in and in level2.xls I have a blank form which for example I would like to try programme in VBA from the level2.xls file to click a button and open automatically level1.xls then grab field "A2" value from level1.xls and place it in level2.xls field "L4" then continue using level1.xls "B2" to level2.xls in field "C3" and then continue down when I add more values A3, A4 so on in level1.xls to the same field in level2.xls L4.

What i need to do is Open a Closed workbook (which i have done in the code below)
1 . When this book opens there is a msgbox that needs to have "template" pasted in to then ok automatically clicked ( i have no clue if this can even be done)
2. Then go to Sheet("contactor info") find last row then paste certain info. Below is a peice of code i have from the open workbook but of corse it doesnt work. The red is where it hangs up.

The following is a sample spread sheet similar to ones I use daily.
I am trying to create a macro that will help me do the following.
Look for the same account # shown in Column A to Column F. If the account # matches, copy the total Value in Column H to the correct account in Column C.
The problem here is that In column A, i've placed some headings so i'm not too sure if that'll cause a problem.

1. I will make a new, target file
2. I want to have a file with the macro in it
3. i want to open a (various) number of files to copy the info from
Now for my questions:
* How can I determine which other files are open (apart from the new and macro file)?
* How can I access each individual file, copy the information, paste it in the target file and close the "copy-file" after this
* Within the previous *): how can I determine how many worksheets there are in each file and do the copying sheets by sheet?

Im trying to copy from one notebook to another and paste but to not paste over the information thats already there. I need to just paste my new info below whats already there. I have attempted this by filtering when I copy but its not working. My attempt is below. Right now Im filtering by column a but i need to be filtering by column c in the future.

I have a value in sheet3 cell "C9". (the value is stewart)
I am tring to have the macro go down column "C" in sheet1 and the value is the same as "C9"s value in sheet3 then copy the 7 cells to the right and paste them in the 7 cells right of "C9" in sheet3.
Example: If the value in cell "C9" in sheet3 = "stewart" and the value in "C109" in sheet1 is "stewart" the copy C110:C116 in sheet1 and paste those values in C10:C16 in sheet3.
I guess you wouldn't have to offset, you could copy C109:C116 and paste it to C9:C16 since its the same value.

I have two spreadsheets, A & B. In spreadsheet A, user will input a contract number and values for the contract. The user inputs the contract number in cell D4. I have linked this cell to cell B1 of spreadsheet B.
I want Excel to
-copy values from spreadsheet A
-then go to spreadsheet B and find the value of B1(which is the contract number entered in cell D4 of spreadsheet A)
- arrow over 14 columns
- then paste
here's the code i have so far. No matter what contract I input in cell D4 of spreadsheet A (when i step through the code) excel always takes me to cell C10 of spreadsheet B!?!?!
note: the code is in a module in spreadsheet A

Im trying to get some VBA to search in my worksheet to find a match to the value of cell B5 (the value of B5 changes depending on user choice), then once a match is found I want to highlight from the matched cell to the right 5 columns and down to row 193 (so in total 6 columns would be highlighted down to row 193), then copy and paste special values over those cells.

I basically need to copy/move the text in column E, from vertical to horizontal using VBA when column C is the same. Then delete the extra lines. eg. C1:C3 = 1, so all the text from E1:E3 needs to goto E1:G1, then Rows 2&3 can be deleted as they are no longer needed. (Note: there are not always 3 instances, this can vary from 3-10). Its a bit hard to explain so i have included the Sample-finished.xls file as this is how it needs to look once its complete.

The macro finds the value in cell D11 (which is the name of a product) in a worksheet called "Summary1". It then looks for this value in another worksheet called "Output", specifically in a column with a named range called "Products". If the value being searched is found in the "Products" named range column (in the worksheet "Output"), the code below copies the entire row for it, to another sheet called "OutputSummary1". I would like to change the code as follows:
1) Instead of copying the entire row, for which the searched for value is found, from the sheet "Output" to the sheet "SummaryOutput1", I would like to instead only copy the values in columns A, B, and E to the sheet "OutputSummary1". Also, I would like the values to be pasted pastespecial so that the formulas in the sheet "Output" are not copied over, and only the values are copied.
2) Secondly, I would like to know how to perform the find procedure (searching for cell D11 contents) on all sheets in the same workbook beginning with the word "Summary" (There will be worksheets called Summary1, Summary2, Summary3, etc. that the macro should be performed on.) As well, the pasting should be perfomed on all respective sheets called OutputSummary1, OutputSummary2, OutputSummary3, etc.

I have created a spreadsheet some time ago and have been asked to improve on it but I'm rusty with VBA.
I have an automated ordering system that saves each sent order as the date e.g "05-04-2013.xls" but the management team want a graph with the data for the last 4 weeks compared. I have created a seperate workbook called "consumables report.xls" which has a column with the products listed followed by columns "Quantity" and "cost" which is repeated for the 4 weeks of the month.
I want to add a button to prompt the user to choose the saved order e.g "05-04-2013.xls" (all orders saved in same directory) to copy and paste the quantity and cost columns (c8,D69) into "consumables report.xls". I got this to work earlier but it would only paste the formulas and not the values. So I need
A prompt to open workbook
Copy range (c8,d69)
Close work sheet
Paste special .value (c8,D69)
I dont care if it has to open the workbook to copy the data as this will only be used once a month so it dosnt matter how slow the code is.

I'm trying to create an "export" feature where certain data can be copied out to a new workbook. I want to copy out the following from the current workbook to a new one: Sheets("1TR").Range("C33:M999") to range("A1") in the new workbook
and Sheets("1PL").Range("K33:K999") to range ("L1") in the new workbook.
The problem I'm having is that it is not just one copy/paste exercise, but two, and I don't know how to reference the new workbook as it doesn't have a filename.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with my code. I basically need to copy-paste special a large workbook (50 worksheets) into a new range-valued workbook. I've defined Sheet as S, but in some instances when I use the variable "S" I received a runtime error 1004.
Please see the highlighted red "S" in the code below.
Also, if one knew of an easier method for this particular operation that would be great!

Currently I have a macro which successfully updates a value in the report page, creates a new document and then copies and pastes (as values)that sheet into the new workbook and saves it down as a unique file.
I need to have graphs on this new workbook. So gathered creating a template and getting the macro to open this template, copy the ranges and then paste into the template (which will update the charts) and then save down.
The ranges i need to paste in are: B5:D7, and B11:P37 the destination cells are exactly the same.

I have a master workbook and a template workbook. The template workbook when run generates a new workbook with the current date as the file name. Within the newly generated workbook, the template, had created 5 worksheets. On each worksheet, there is a single cell that contains the total from that particular worksheet.
What I need is a macro that will grab these totals, one from each of the 5 worksheets from the newly generated workbook done by the template, and pasted it in the master workbook under the 5 columns in a worksheet: 0-20, 21-40,41-60,61-80,81-100. However, the next time the macro is run, it will not over write the previous data but move to the next blank row and paste the totals there.

By referring to the attached file, I have to copy all the datas which have a value only ( total=0 is ignored) in the Bin_Trip worksheet(highlight in image1 below), then all this data will be paste to other new workbook. All this job is done by clicking the start button and after user enter the directory(image2 below).
The last result consist of the workbook with the pasted datas from Bin_Trip worksheet.

I am needing to find a specific row of data in one workbook and, once found, copy and paste the values into another workbook. The worksheets in both workbooks are formatted exactly the same. Only the first eight fields of the row need to be copied (e.g. A7:H7, A150:H150, etc.)
Will a combination of VLOOKUP and ROW do this and how do I get them to work together? Once the correct row is found, how are the fields selected, copied and pasted into the specific worksheet of the other workbook?
