This is probably easier than I'm making it on myself. I would like a formula that would find the value in D2 of the current sheet on a sheet named 6-19 in D:D, then take the value from L:L in that row and subtract it from L2 of the current sheet.

I've been asked to do something in excel i can't seem to get my head around.
My client provides me with data in the form
1c, 1b, 1a, 2c, 2b, 2a, 3c etc... where 1a is the lowest.
I need to find a way of working out the difference between these, e.g.
edit: 2a - 1c = 5
I've been working on it and have made some headway by splitting these with MID function and then using CODE to try and work out a unique ID for each, but i can't help feeling there's an easier way!
Reference the attached excel audit example. Column F highlighted in Yellow is finding the difference between "Authorized Post Allow" D9 "Post Allowance" B9 . The Column location of the two Columns changes on each audit. This means I have to manually fix the formula in Column F every time. Is there a formula that would find the difference between these two columns based on their names "Post Allowance" and "Authorized Post Allow" preventing me from manully fixing the formula.

See the attachment the result is coming from Denominators tab, I want the answer displayed in the Display tab, you will see a drop down list at C3 in Display, I am trying to show the answer in cell D9-I9.

I am trying to find some missing values compared to 6 base values. For instance, I have a sheet with some names translated to another language, I am trying to find the languages some names have not been translated too.
For example, if I have six languages, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Chinese-Simplified, Chinese- Traditional, and Korean to compare too, I want to find any names that are not translated in certain languages.

I have 12,000 companies (roughly), and each of them appears in an Excel file multiple times (some 1 time, other 18 times) with a few parameters. The big file (about 90,000 entries) is sorted so it looks like below:
I will illustrate for 2 companies:
Company A 0 200
Company A 0 0
Company B 300 400
Company B 0 50
I need for every company to do a countif for each column on condition
that the value is larger than 0.
In this case I would end up with:
Company A 0 200
Company A 0 0
Countif result 0 1
Company B 300 400
Company B 0 50
Countif result 1 2
However, I need to extend this to the whole 90,000 entries and 12,000 companies and this cannot be done manually. I thought about vlookup but that returns the first entry only, and I have multiple.
I have a column using Vlookup to find values that I want to SUM.
Some of the look up values produce a #N/A and result in a total sum of #N/A.
How do I get the SUM of a column of numbers when all of the cell values are not in fact numbers.
I have a very complicated vlookup problem, at least for me. What I want to do is to find values from different firms in different years, by just changing the name of the firm in the formula. This is probably difficult to understand, but please refer to the excel sheet added.

I just need to compare keyword list in Column B to the Text in Cell A1. If the word from the list appears in the text, I need it to be highlighted for every instance.

Hope this does not confuse, but if John Doe is listed in AC2 I want to find the sum of his total payments if his name is listed as a customer in Sheets Sales, Grants, and Deferred Pymts. The Sales! sheet is divided into AM and PM pricing which explains why Sales! has Column B and Column AJ for Customer Names.

I'm putting together a mark book for school and have a problem with VLOOKUP distinguishing between what used to be a top grade, ie A, and the new top grade, A*.
I want to convert the grade to a number but VLOOKUP can't tell the difference between A and A*. I've attached a sample worksheet.
I have been struggling with this formula for ages and have finally given up. What I would like to do is to do a lookup on the concatenated values of Province, Department and Initiative No, which has mutiple values in the status of milestone column, and then give the answer based on a condition.
The condition for this example should be, that if the returned status / or statuses of the initiative is all 1, then the value should be 1, if it's all 2, then the value should be 2, and so on.....but if the values returned from the status of the initiative is a combination of 1,2 or 3, then it should give me the answer 2. If 4 is part of the comination of values returned, then the value should be 4.
Zero - 0 should be excluded from the formula as it is part of planned values and not actual.
I have created a spreadsheet from a master using vlookup. I want to be able to hide rows which contain a null value (NA) in column B (sample attached). Is there a formula I can use which won't interfere with the vlookup or do I need to hide the rows individually? I tried filtering but that only filtered the cell and not the whole row.

I'm trying to find the difference two cells within a row to another row.
I'm using time values i.e 17:07 and 14:53 and in the third cell I'd like to get a result that shows me a plus/minus of the differences.

In a cell outside of the pivot I would like to be able to produce the name of the range that has the largest difference between male and female.
I have a workbook with three sheets containing patient information from a clinic. Each sheet pertains to a different year. The sheets are formatted such that every row of each sheet contains a patient ID number in column A; in the same row, following the patient ID, is data pertaining to that patient, part of which stays the same (intake data)[=values in columns B:O] and part of which changes (encounter data)[=columns P:AA].
My challenge in cleaning and merging this dataset is that the ID numbers may not be trustworthy: I need a way to validate that there are no patient records [=rows] such that a given row has the same set of identifying information (OpenRecord Date, Sex, Age, History, etc.) located in columns B through O but a different ID number (column A) in a different sheet. In other words, I need to make sure the same patient isn't masquerading by a different ID number across different years [=worksheets]. What I am trying to do is develop a macro or formula that compares each row's range of values for B:O to every other row across each of the three worksheets; then find and list only matches for B:O that do not have the same value in Col A.
Complicating this operation are two considerations: 1) Each sheet in the workbook (excerpt attached) contains about 40,000 rows. 2) DOB is missing; instead, we have "Age." For those patients which appear in all three years captured in the three sheets, the "Age" value (column F) increases by +1 year.

I have 4 grids on the trending tab. I want to find the top 10 highest Color assets from Fleet Volume -Color tab under the correct month.
So for example, if the month is May as in cell G3 on the trending tab, then look at the data under the month of May on the Fleet Volume-Color tab and find the top 10 assets and drop in the City, Address, Model, Serial Number and then volume to the 1st grid on the trending tab, then repeat for Highest B&W
I want to the do the same for each of the other 3 grids on this tab. I want this to update based on the month on both tabs.
Of course, the data on the Fleet Volume tabs is a small range due to size, the data is a lot larger.
Is there are way to do this with a formula? I tried Large and small formula but not too sure how to bring over the other data like City, Model etc.
I have a simple problem I am trying to find a set a values on a column and what to replace once found with the first 5 most left characters. Example:
in column A I can have text and numbers; the numbers that I want to find are in the following format xy:zw / xy:zw on each case the values can be from 0 to 9 so this is tons of posible combinations, I been trying to use **:** ? **:** but I don't get none. This is what I am doing

I require calculating difference between two columns. (Actual and Estimated).
Difference between these two numbers are calculated in third column, but it is reset every time actual number is non-zero.
Scenario:-
-Estimated Numbers are always followed by an actual number.
-After actual number is obtained, estimated numbers till that date will be added and deducted from actual number.
-After this, again estimated number will be added till next actual number is obtained for deduction.
If estimated number is not followed by actual number, then no need for difference calculation.

Column B consists of date (oldest to latest), Column C to Column P consists of data, I have entered formula in Column Q to get value if the conditions are met, else the cells will remain blank (but those cells contains formula)

There are thousands of ROWS in the worksheet.
I need to find last value in the Column Q, corresponding date (assuming if the last value is in Q4395, I want it's corresponding date which is in Column B) and finding the difference between today and that found date. All these put together in one formula.
I managed to get last value in the column by using this formula, but I couldn't get it's corresponding date.

Some items may or may not occur in both lists.
Every item in both lists has a value on the range of 1-50.
I am only interested in those items that occur in both lists.
I need to find the difference of the values for each of these items (List A - List B), including negative values.
I have tried many variations of formulas using VLOOKUP with no luck.
I cannot figure out how to accomplish this with a Pivot Table.
I want to make a macro for this.
Here's an example:
