Aug 22, 2006I have 2 cells with dd/mm/yy h:mm format. I have been using =TEXT(BQ3-BP3,"[h]:mm") to work out the hours and minutes difference between the 2 cells. However I would like the formula to work so that the hours and minutes difference will only come into effect after midnight on the first day. For example
01/01/06 23:30 - 01/01/06 23:45 would read 00:00
but
01/01/06 23:30 - 01/02/06 00:45 would read 00:45

Nov 13, 2009I am currently usins Excel 2007 and would like to calculate the diferrence in hours and minutes (ideally in decimal e.g 4:30 should be reflected as 4.5) between two date and time groups, excluding the non-working time between 17:00 and 09:00, weekends and holidays. An 8 hour working day is to be used. I have attached a spreadsheet were I tried to achieved the above with little success.

Jun 14, 2013I have tried several ways to calculate the difference between 2 dates/Time fields. Here is what i have tried and the issues i am encountering.
Cell F3 Has the Create date and Cell G3 has the resolution date and i need to calculate the difference between the 2 in months, Days, Hours, Mins and seconds:
1st option - =G3-F3 and set the format of the cell to mm "m "dd"d" hh"h "mm"m "ss"s "
The problem is, for some reason the months isn't calculating correctly and appears to add 1 month
2nd option - =DATEDIF(F156,G156,"y")&"y "&DATEDIF(F156,G156,"ym")&"m
"&DATEDIF(F156,G156,"md")&"d "&TEXT(MOD(G156-F156,1),"hh""h ""mm""m ""ss""s""")
This appeared to work however because it looks at the date and time separately, when there are 22 hours difference which spans over 2 dates ( Created 13/06/2013 10:30:00 Resolved 14/06/2013 08:34:00) its shows as 1 day and 22 hours which isn't correct.

Oct 22, 2008I need to enter a formula that calculates the time a report is received from the time it was recorded in our database. therefore, it needs to exclude non working hours. here are the fields:
A1 2008/10/10 16:30
B1 2008/10/11 09:30
C1 8:00
D1 17:00
A1 = report received
B1 = reported recorded in db
C1 = work day start time
D1 work day end time
Where the answer should = 2 hours.
I am not an experienced excel user and so far the only formula I have now is: =TEXT(B1-A1, "d:hh:mm")
And how do I account for weekends?

Time difference is 92:32 [hh:mm]
another example:

Time difference is 70:53 [hh:mm]
So instead of getting 92:32 and 70:53 by calculating it myself I would like to have a formula do it for me. Otherwise I'll have to invest a lot of time to get the information I need.

Column B consists of date (oldest to latest), Column C to Column P consists of data, I have entered formula in Column Q to get value if the conditions are met, else the cells will remain blank (but those cells contains formula)
For eg: =IF(C4395=1,J4395,"")
There are thousands of ROWS in the worksheet.
I need to find last value in the Column Q, corresponding date (assuming if the last value is in Q4395, I want it's corresponding date which is in Column B) and finding the difference between today and that found date. All these put together in one formula.
I managed to get last value in the column by using this formula, but I couldn't get it's corresponding date.

I have to calculate the difference between the start time and end time of a job. The only catch is, how can I avoid calculating "out of hours" time. So, if a job goes from 9am to 9am the next day, I want it to avoid calculating between the hours of 23:30 and 03:30.
Another example is if a job goes from 02:00 to 04:00, I want it to avoid the tim between 02:00 and 03:00.
If there is a difference in days, so the job goes overnight, how do I take that into consideration also.

(this represents 23 hours) - format for cell is [h]:mm:ss
C1= Unknown function
(This field is my problem!!)
Answer here SHOULD be "14:30:00 16/12/2008"

Aug 26, 2006I am currently working on a VBA function that searches a spreadsheet for a particular time and date. In the time and date column, there exists a cell for every hour of the year from January 1st 12am to December 31st 11:00pm. So for any given date, there are 24 entires with the same date, but each with a different time (that is the intervals are in one hour increments.)
What I have been attempting to put together is a simple worksheet. Find method to search for a date, I.E. 1/22/2006 3:00:00 AM. I have read countless posts and websites saying that you must format the date and time into a window date format such as 1/22/2006, but you lose that time constraint. Well if I search for that in my spreadsheet, i have 24 cells that meet that criteria. Anywhere from 12AM to 11PM. But I may want the one for 11PM... Also, since find searches from top to bottom, I always retrieve 12AM since its the first hour of the day. I apologize for my wordiness, but It is kind of a complicated matter.

Nov 21, 2013I just installed Office 2013 Pro. In my Office 2010 Additional Controls toolbox, the control toolbox has a Date and Time Picker(DTPicker1) . I cannot find it in the Additional Controls toolbox in Excel 2013. I certainly hope they did not choose to not make it available in Excel 2013 - this is an extremely important control for my Excel spreadsheets as it allows inputting a date range on a userform with DTPicker1 and DTPicker2 and generating reports using VBA in conjunction with Autofiltering code on a Generate Report button.

Jun 20, 2006In the included workbook I've got a sheet that needs to be updated every time a userform is completed. So I intend to run a macro after the data is entered to find duplicates, and delete the older row.
so, column A must match then column C must match then look in columns AK & AL to find the newest entry to keep. I also need to delete any rows where column A is empty(light Green), no matter what other columns have data.
In my example sheet all the yellow's match for column A but the bright yellow's are the only "keepers", because one has a different number in "C" and the other is the newest.
Also remember that this is just part of a much bigger, multi-sheet book so I will need to I.D. this sheet in the code.

Some of the data is date/time and excel is formatting all of these cells to time. The date/time cells to not neatly line up in any row or column, so I cannot just format any give column or row. May 8, 2013I have a large data set which contains four coloumns: Supplier, Supplier number, order number, and date/time of delivery. The date/time coloumn is formatted as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM with a 24h time notation. What i want to do is to find deliveries that occurs within 1 hour and that are from the same supplier. So i basically want to group (?) the data with regards to the suppliers and then, within these subsets, check for date/time entries that occurs within 1 hour from each others by "reading" each date entry and compare it to the following one(s) (and maybe stop comparing when the 1 hour interval is passed)?
Furthermore, even if this one might be very hard, it would be good if i could make sure that the entries that are "tagged" as within a 1 hour interval, wont be used as basis for a new interval or be included in other intervals.
The result i am after would be number of 1 hour intervals for each supplier and the number of entries in each interval.
Below is an example from the date/time coloumn:

A1 has 0400 A2 has 0430 A3 SHOULD be :30
B1 has 1500 B2 has 1715 B3 SHOULD be 2:15

Jan 13, 2013I work at a call center and I get the data as Date, Time of calling and Duration of the call. Now since this is an overseas call center, even though the calls spills over 12midnight, the corresponding date shows as the date when the agent logged in.
So I get the data in this format, Date: 06/11/2012, Time: 19:00:00 - 04:00:00.
How do I calculate the time difference at one go without first getting the time difference from the time of login till midnight and then add that to the time difference of midnight till time of logout. I have attached a file for your review.

9:54-9:45 = 0:09
Now to convert this in minutes (in number format), I multiply this number with 1440:
0:09*1440 = 9
When I click the cell this number is actually 9.0000005, rather than exact 9. I need it to be exact 9 since I have to match this number from other excel sheet.
To sum up:
This is what I expect:
31.99999 should be changed to 32
10.000001 should be changed to 10.
