I have a reference value(say 'X') at L3, now i want to select a value next higher to this value(ie..'X') in the column ''C'' say and also i have to print the corresponding values of the row corresponding to B,C,D,E,F etc.

VBA - Hide / Show Values Of 0 Or Higher

Basically, I am looking for a macro code to link to an 'Update' button that will do the following;

I will have 2 sheets, one sheet will be referencing data from other sheet with the following

=IF(Log Sheet!A4="Yes",(A1),"0")

This means, if it needs to be 'referred' it will go to the other sheet, and if it doesn't, then it wont and it will show up as 0.

Basically, every row will have this type of formula for 30 columns, and i would like a macro code that will hide values of 0, but even once hidden, will then show them again if in the other spreadsheet i change the value to yes, meaning i want the previously hidden row to show.

I have two columns (let's say column A and C), i would like to add the values in column A only if they are higher than the ones in Column C in the same row... how could i do that?

The sheet looks something like this, i would like to add the values in the first column only if they are higher than the ones in the third column and then of course get the sum of them... i would also like to know how many were there in total, but i guess i could do that with a count formula i just need the parameters

Summation And Average Of Consecutive Values That Are Higher That Particular Value

Objective: I am trying to find consecutive (2 or more) lap time that is above a certain value per lap. Once that is accomplished. I would like to know the summation of these values and the average. These values (summation and average) are not over the entire data, but for the consecutive periods only. Ideally I would like the for n number of laps and lap-time.

(i.e) if threshold is 85 seconds. Please view the attached image and sample spreadsheet.

The formula I used to get the consecutive data above

formula I used is =IF(AND($B2>$D$2,OR($B3>$D$2,$B1>$D$2)),$B2,""). This yielded the values on the last column.

My question is, how can I sum and find the average and summation of consecutive value till blank cell. Using the example above, I would require the average, ((118.2+92.74)/2) in one cell. I would require the next cell to give me the average, ((87.5+86.5)/2. Also I would require the summations used.

Macro Logic: Extract Higher/lower Values Based On Unique Cell

This is a logic based macro that needs to compare values in 1 column above a specific cell and take action until the column has no more data. Here's what I'm trying to do (and I've also attached a sample of desired results):

1) I want user to input starting cell. So I need to create a button for that.

2) This is where the logic begins and I'm having difficulty.
From cell defined in button, I move up one cell in that column and compare that value to the original cell.

If the value is greater than original cell then logic needs 2 outcomes:

a) move up 1 cell in column and if that value is less than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value one cell to the right or 1c.
b) move up 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then move up again, until find lesser value than original cell. Once we find value less than original cell, extract value and copy value one cell to the right or 1c.

Speed Improvement - Macro Extract Higher/lower Values And Note Time Differences

I have a macro that needs a major improvement in performance. I have a Quad Core 2.67GHz single processor computer and with the current logic it calculates 20 values per minute. I have data sets that can be up to 400,000 data points, which means it will take 333 hours. The attached Sample file has over 9000 point. For this data set it takes 7.5 hours.

The core logic of the macro is to extract what I call “Break Point” into column M and “Time Difference” between the Break Points to column O.

I got the code from this forum (thank you DonkeyOte) and made some modifications. The modified logic does the following:

1) The user inputs the starting cell. In the Sample I use G200.

2) From cell defined in button, It moves down one cell in that column and compares that value to the original cell.

If the value is greater than original cell then there are 2 possible outcomes:

a) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is less than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value to the column M (Break Point value) and copy the Time Difference Value to column O. “Time Difference” is calculated as the difference between the 2 point breaks in Column A. In this case I’ve hardcoded 0.003472222 to get 5 minutes which matches up with each incremental time in column A, but I would like the Macro to automatically calculate that by the difference between Column A values.
b) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then move down again, until find lesser value than original cell. Once we find value less than original cell, extract value and copy value to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.

Once lesser value has been copied to new cell, logic is now:
a) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.
b) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is less than original cell, then move up again, until find greater value than original cell. Once we find value greater than original cell, extract value and copy value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.

At any point in the process if we find a value equal to the starting cell, we ignore it and the logic continues. The logic continues flip flopping like this to the last value of column G.

Here's the logic now in reverse I need:

If after moving down 1 cell of original cell, the value is less than original cell then logic has the following 2 outcomes:

a) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O..
b) move down 1 cell in column and if that value less than original cell, then move up again, until find greater value than original cell. Once we find value greater than original cell, extract value and copy value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.

Once greater value has been copied to new cell, logic is now:
a) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is less than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.
b) move down 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then move up again, until find lesser value than original cell. Once we find value lesser than original cell, extract value and copy value one cell to column M and copy the Time Difference Value to column O.

Again, at any point in the process if we find a value equal to the starting cell, we ignore it and the logic continues. The logic continues flip flopping like this to the last value of column.

Once all the Break Points and Time Difference between Break Points are extracted for each value in column G, the AVERAGE, STDEV and MAX values of column O are calculated in column Q, R and S.

There is a loop that controls the execution of the core logic until the last value in column G. In the macro I’ve hardcoded last row being 9171, but I’d like the Macro to figure out what the last row is automatically.

I know this description is a bit long but I’ve worked for many hours on getting it work properly. I just need some help to make it run much faster. I hope someone can help me out on this. I have the right logic, just need the speed now and I really can’t figure it out.

Attached is a sample files demonstrating showing how the logic to flips back and forth as moving down the column starting in cell G200.

The sample shows the results first 4 loops (Rows 200 to 203). The values in M and O are the results of the fourth loop.

Again, assistance is very much appreciated because I've taken this as far as I can with my limited experience.

EDIT - I can embed the Macro, but it'll probably much easier to actually see it in the sample file.

Printing Sheet From List Reference?

I am sure it is easy as I have done this before, but can't remember how or where I have put the code.I have a spreadsheet with multiple worksheets (The amount and names of sheets will keep changing). On a front sheet I have a dynamic validation list in cell "L9" that will always have the full list of spreadsheet names. The idea is that I will choose which spreadsheet to print from this list. Press a button and only that sheet will print.

Finding A Cell Reference In An Array

I'm setting up an Excel (2000) sheet to record the results of a competition at my local photographic society. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible to fill out by the people using it, so have shaded the cells that require the user to put data in. I'll post a screenshot of the sheet, which is named "DPI", to make it easier:

I use one row for each member entering the competition. Each member can submit up to three photographs for judging. The names in B5:B30 are tied to the member number in A5:A30, and pulled in with VLOOKUP from a separate sheet containing all the club's members. The names in this example are, obviously, fakes. ;-)

The three blocks are to enter the image titles and associated scores. I have a range called "scores" which is defined as =DPI!$D$5:$D$30,DPI!$G$5:$G$30,DPI!$J$5:$J$30

The rank columns are simply calculated using the RANK function. E.g. the formula in E5 is =IF(ISBLANK(A5),"",RANK(D5,scores,0))

The cells at the top are calculated using the LARGE function upon the defined range "scores" (although they could equally use the SMALL function on the rank columsn instead).

The bit I'm stuck at is what I want it to say along the top. eg: "Leg 1 Winner: 30 is {insert image title} by {insert member name}"

Using the winner as an example, I want to take the winning score shown in D1, find it in the named array "scores", and return the image title to the left of it. Obviously I can't use VLOOKUP as the data is to the left of the lookup value as well as being in multiple columns. I wanted to use OFFSET to return the value of the column to the left, but to do that I need to pick up the reference of the cell containing "30" i.e. the winning score shown in cell D1.

How can I find this cell reference? Or is there a better way? I thought about the old MATCH/INDEX function, but INDEX doesn't seem to work very well with data in non-contiguous arrays as I'd have to specify which block to look in.

Once I can get the image title returned I hopefully sholdn't have any bother extending it to return the member name from a fixed column, but I can't figure out how to get the reference of the cells in the "scores" array that contain the winning scores shown in D1, D2 and D3.

Finding Cell Reference Using VLookup

I am currently having real problem using the formula below:

=INDEX(Data!C:C,MATCH(B7,Data!A:A))

What i am trying to do with this formula is return the cell address of an item that is in a different sheet.

The reference the for search is in Cell B7 which is a date, it then looks at a different sheet "Data" for this date which is in Column A. It then returns the Cell Reference of Column C of the same row.

Currently it is just returning the value of column C and not the cell reference.

Removing Cell Values When Printing

I am working on a form right now for a shipping company in MS Excel. Anyways, I have a few cells formatted as text that have a starting value of "[Insert Comments Here]". What I am trying to do is have it so that IF the cell has the original value "[Insert Comments Here]" upon printing, THEN the cell's value is changed to "" or some other way of not making it print.

I would like to be able to do this both with cells and the "Label" form objects.

Complex Printing Of Values Of Unique Strings Between 2 Arrays?

I have the following arrays.

A1=Array("A","D","F")
A2 = Array(Array(0, 1, 4, 5), Array(2, 0, 1, 1), Array(2, 3, 11, 3))

B1=Array("D","X","F","J")
B2 = Array(Array(6, 0, 2, 1), Array(1, 1, 6, 1), Array(7, 9, 1, 0),Array(0, 3, 2, 2))

I would like to print in column A all the unique/common values between Array A1 and Array B1. The common values are A,D,F,X,J. And I'd like to print in Columns D:G the A2(i) values and print in columns I:L the values B2(i) in the corresponding row of values of arrays A1 and B1. If some string only appears in array A1 (i.e. "A"), this means that string "A" have values associated in array A2, but not in B2, then print zeros from I:L and if the string only appears in array B1 (i.e. "X" and "J"), this means that strings "X" and "J" have values associated in array B2, but don't have valus in A2, then print zeros from D:G for the same row of X and J.

Summing Values After Finding Max Consecutive Values

I have 10 columns (A-J). Column B is the Date & Column C is the Time, I have the data sorted 1st by date then by time. The 5th Column, E, is Size. The 10th column, J, is "Position."

This 10th column, J, is in binary format. A 1 equals a Position & a 0 equals no Position.

1) I need to find the Max Sum of the Size in which the Max consecutive set of 1s has occurred.

2) I need to also do this on a day by day basis, using the Date in Column B, without having to manually go through & modify all the formulas to reference the date.

I have a Sumif formula for the 2nd but it won't copy down to update the formula for each unique date. I have to manually change the date values & I have ~957 unique dates to do; so it would be a rather painstaking process if only done manually. Moreover, it doesn't count the Max Sum of all consecutive 1s in Column J...

The length of the non unique columns (all columns w/o unselecting the duplicate entries) is 19,068.

If you can be of help, I'd be very thankful...my brain is overloaded w/googling & using trial & error.

Printing Multiple Workbooks With Printing Preference As Landscape

I would like to know if there is a way to print several different workbooks at once but keeping my printing format which I would like to be Landscape and Fit to one page. Reason is simple as I work in a office where staff is handed in several jobs to do everyday. They finish the jobs and log all the info on the database. I log on to database and put all their daily diaries and because it is all over the place I have to go in each file and set printing preferences which takes an hour in the morning and hour in the evening. I could do with some sort of automation where all diaries are automatically printed in Landscape and Fit on one page.

Printing / Not Printing Ranges Based On Cell Contents

I have a report that is generated from a manufacturing process that looks like the example below. the report is 40 pages long when all the data is printed. i am looking for a way to only print this range if a dimension is "out of tolerance". if the dimension is within tolerance, there is always the "garbage" text of plus and minus. if every row is "within tolerance" in the range the cells in the OutTol column would all contain the "garbage" text but it will not always be identical. so, in summary, actual OutTol values = print and all "garbage" = not printed.

Compare Values Based On Multiple Reference Values?

In sheet1, I have the borrowers and outstanding per employee. In the Area Avg sheet, I have the average borrowers and outstanding in each area as this is the standard for comparison (I got this through the subtotal function).

Now what I have to do is in sheet1, format(change the color) each cell under borrowers which is greater than the average of the relevant area. Since, (in my actual data) the name of the area may be duplicate in different regions, the reference value (average borrowers of the area) from "Area Avg" sheet has to be traced through multiple criteria which are: Division, Region and Area. The same also has to be done for outstanding but the solution can be provided for borrowers only.

What I want is the RESULT column.
The RESULT column returns the next value that is larger than the reference.
E.g. The next value that is larger than 10 is 20.
NOT the next larger value, the next larger value of 10 is 12. This is not what I want.

I can't construct a formula that would do it for me. I have a row of numbers. I need to find the first number in that row that is greater or equal to 90, when that is found I need to return a number from a different row. Example:

I have 90 in A1.

In row B2:F2, I have numbers like -125, -100, -90, 90, 91, 150 etc.
In row B1:F1 I have rates like 4.25, 5.5, 3.75, 5.625, 6.00, 7.00 etc

I need to get the first number that is >=90, and return the rate above that number. ( Rates are always in one row)

Actually i have to two sheets. In (1st file) I have the data of customers. And in (2nd file) I get the approved sales. So i have to find the numbers.

In my sales sheet, there is data of customers like name, address, phone number etc.

In my sales report sheet, i got multiple numbers in a notepad file which are rejected sales.

So basically, i have to copy every number one by one, and then have to find it in my excel sheet with CTRL+F and then i change the color of that cell which is rejected.

I want magic by which i simply add all the rejected numbers in one column of my file, and then do Abra Cadabra by which all the numbers which are rejected get in red colour automatically in the column in which there are all the numbers (approved as well as rejected).

Finding Values Within Two Ranges

I have people who wrote down that they attended a location on a certain date at a certain time, and I have their start and end time.

So for example my person data has something like this:

Arrive: 1/1/12 7:00 AM,
Leave: 1/1/12 10:00 AM

Arrive: 1/1/12 3:00 PM
Leave: 1/1/12 4:00 PM

Arrive: 1/4/12 8:00 PM
Leave: 1/4/12 10:15 PM

I also have those fields formatted as text and as decimals so I can work with whatever I need.

The next portion is a list of events that occur at these same locations. Here are some examples.

Event 1
Start: 1/1/12 8:15 AM
End: 1/1/12 12:15 PM

Event 2
Start: 1/4/12 3:00 PM
End 1/4/12 8:30 PM

What I need to find out is if the person was present at the location during any of the events.

A person may write down more than one visit to the location in a day. The events only happen once per day. I'm sure there's a pretty manual way to do this, however the list of people and events spans an entire year and it will be too time consuming to do it that way.

I have multiple columns / rows of data, some of which are duplicates.

Column S is a concat of columns A:R where this data is stored, and is sorted alphabetically.

I'm looking for a way using VBA to find duplicate concat rows by cycling through this list that is already sorted. I'm interested in moving down this list, 1 by 1, and if current cell = cell above, delete the data in columns A:P of that row, then delete the cell data in column R of the cell above the current cell.

So for example, if I have sorted data in S8:S14, and S9 = S8, then I would like to delete A9:P9, then delete the data in R8.

Finding Min And Max Values From Array

I have been trying to set up a macro to find the Minimum and Maximum values from an array of temperatures for painting... so far, partially successful.

The problems I am having are that the values have 1 decimal place and can be anywhere between 22.7 to -1.4. When they come they are put on the spreadsheet, the MinTemp can be 10.0 and MaxTemp 9.9, totally reversed.

Finding A Return Values

Here is a little formula I working on:
=IF(MID(A1, LEN(A1),1)="i", "x", "")

As it is, it would return an X if the last value of a string is "i"
What I want to really do is check if the last value is a " qoute but it seems you can't put """ or you get an error -- example: =IF(MID(A1, LEN(A1),1)=""", "x", "")
