I am working on a form right now for a shipping company in MS Excel. Anyways, I have a few cells formatted as text that have a starting value of "[Insert Comments Here]". What I am trying to do is have it so that IF the cell has the original value "[Insert Comments Here]" upon printing, THEN the cell's value is changed to "" or some other way of not making it print.
I would like to be able to do this both with cells and the "Label" form objects.
I want to remove some cell borders for printing so that on paper it will look like 2 separate tables (ie, I want a space between the 2 tables). I have tried removing the borders and changing the colouring to white but they still show.
I have a report that pulls data from another worksheet in Range A26:J58. What I want to be able to do is assign a button for printing the report but before printing from A1:J70 removing or hiding any row in the A26:J58 range where there is no data. The range is filled from row 26 down so it is not a random fill.
Also, I want to save this workbook as a template so that it can be used over again, so I guess it would not be good to delete the rows in the range otherwise I would have to recreate them.
I have a report that is generated from a manufacturing process that looks like the example below. the report is 40 pages long when all the data is printed. i am looking for a way to only print this range if a dimension is "out of tolerance". if the dimension is within tolerance, there is always the "garbage" text of plus and minus. if every row is "within tolerance" in the range the cells in the OutTol column would all contain the "garbage" text but it will not always be identical. so, in summary, actual OutTol values = print and all "garbage" = not printed.
I have a excel sheet and inside certin cell are vales of "0". I would like to delete those 0 but keep the other values I have around them. Is there any way to delete only the "0" without going cell by cell by cell?
I have a reference value(say 'X') at L3, now i want to select a value next higher to this value(ie..'X') in the column ''C'' say and also i have to print the corresponding values of the row corresponding to B,C,D,E,F etc.
I have a worksheet with columns A to E which hold the following data:- Week No, Budget Code, Budget Description, Name and Hours. However, as you can see in the attached spreadsheet there is not always a value in the hours field.
What I want to achieve is to automatically exclude any of the rows of data in the Pivot table that includes zero in the hours field (such as the rows highlighted in yellow) and also not to show if/when the pivot table is refreshed.
I have a data set that I add information to weekly. I then add a value at the end of the row, example active or inactive. I've found that, when using the remove duplicate function, it does not always remove the second instance, resulting in a loss of that added data(active or inactive). So I guess my question is, can I somehow specify which instance of duplicated data is removed?
I would like to print in column A all the unique/common values between Array A1 and Array B1. The common values are A,D,F,X,J. And I'd like to print in Columns D:G the A2(i) values and print in columns I:L the values B2(i) in the corresponding row of values of arrays A1 and B1. If some string only appears in array A1 (i.e. "A"), this means that string "A" have values associated in array A2, but not in B2, then print zeros from I:L and if the string only appears in array B1 (i.e. "X" and "J"), this means that strings "X" and "J" have values associated in array B2, but don't have valus in A2, then print zeros from D:G for the same row of X and J.
I'm working on a big sheet in which I have values like the following:
Testtest 12345 Test 134691241 Testtestest 2385.234 Test test test 235 Testtest test 14.35172'36 T.E.S.T. test test 31246
What I need, is a formula removing anything after the first space (" ") from the right side, but I cannot seem to figure a way to solve the problem. I tried using SUBSTITUDE, REPLACE, FIND, LEFT, RIGHT, IF, COUNT, LEN formulas,
If I update my data, then refresh the pivot table, old values still show as an option. How can I delete these items? If it matters, my pivot table's name is PivotTable2.
I would like to know if there is a way to print several different workbooks at once but keeping my printing format which I would like to be Landscape and Fit to one page. Reason is simple as I work in a office where staff is handed in several jobs to do everyday. They finish the jobs and log all the info on the database. I log on to database and put all their daily diaries and because it is all over the place I have to go in each file and set printing preferences which takes an hour in the morning and hour in the evening. I could do with some sort of automation where all diaries are automatically printed in Landscape and Fit on one page.
I need a macro or excel formula so that it will remove duplicate products- case sensitive(removing all duplicate prod using using excel, that i know.) i.e. it should not consider Blue BLUE as duplicate. only consider Blue Blue as duplicate.
So the macro should work same as data -> remove duplicate function already exists in excel, except it will be case sensitive..
removing duplicate names. Students were allowed to take a quiz as many times as they wanted. I need to remove the duplicate entry by keeping the highest grade.
Here is the setup of my excel file. Column 1 has surnames, Column 2, has first name, and column 3 has grade.
I can't figure out how to filter them based on first and last name because some students have the same name. with the grade as the criteria
I have several worksheets that have comments in the cells. Most of the comments i have set to "un-hide" and they can be printed. I now have this one spreadsheet where no matter what I do I cannot print the comments.
I must have something turned on or off but for thwe life of me I cannot figure out what it is. I can see the comments on the screen but when I go to print preview they are not there.
I have a spreadsheet which is to be filled in by multiple users, in order to assist the users I have colour coded, and left unprotected, the cells that they need to interact with. I really don't want them messing with the formulae!
However, when a user chooses to print the sheet I would like the coloured cells to be printed in B&W.
I have a very little VBA knowledge - I know I need something to follow 'Private Sub Workbook_BeforePrint ()' or at least, I think I do!!
Looking for a way to print out a worksheet with auto number while printing. The worksheet does not have a header or a footer and contains needed information.
I need to do a lookup on these cells but for some reason they all appear to have some kind of space characters in each cell which you can see if you double click on them. I have tried trims, text to columns, find replaces and none of these seem to work
I have a huge list of these numbers / codes and they all have the weird space kind of characters at the end
Can anyone give me a solution on how to remove them so my lookup will work?
I have spreadsheet that was sent to me but for some reason column A-D do not have the grey grid lines. They have the row lines but not the column lines. The data fits into column A but when I click on Center it all disappears and and I have to open the cell up nearly half the page to view the data again.
I have attached a screen shot of the problem. What I need to know is how to undo that so that it has normal formatting like a new spreadsheet. excell.jpg
I currently am pasting data that in some cases there are numbers at the end of a list of names e.g Andy Cole10 or James Banks3.
I have used a formula before that seperates the numbers into another cell but now i need only the text and not the number.using A & B column as example and i can adjust the range.
See the attached file. I regularly receive input files which I have to reformat and upload to a website as a .csv. The website does not like the / between the characters on the Input Data tab. Is there a way to automatically search and remove them and leave the rest of the characters intact? The columns do not always appear in the same order and there could be more or less columns. On the Import Template tab, columns A-I will always be there, so ideally the code should make the changes from the Input Data tab and copy the present columns (J thru whatever) header and data over to the Import Template tab starting in 'J1'. I think that VBA would be the best way to go due to the variable nature of the columns.
