Format Multiple Cells At Once

Apr 2, 2008

I have a cell with the number: 4902.21 and i need to format it so that it shows, 4,902. Easily said then done! I right clicked, format cell, Number to 2 decimal places and ticked the box for a comma. The problem I am having is that in order for that to work, I have to press enter on the cell which then changes the cell to the desired text.

Conditionally Format For Sequence Across Multiple Cells?

Mar 14, 2013

What I am attempting to do is have my spreadsheet automatically detect and highlight personnel working seven days in a row. There are 63 total columns, the first one being for the person's name. The next 31 columns are a full month's dates in which their day shifts are recorded, while the final 31 are the full month's dates for night shifts worked. Days worked are listed as a "1" in the cell beneath the respective shift's date, while days off go down as "3". Currently I am using conditional formatting with the following formula, which highlights cells in red:

=ISNUMBER(FIND("1111111",(H7&I7&J7&K7&L7&M7&N7&O7&P7&Q7&R7&S7&T7&U7&V7&W7&X7&Y7&Z7&AA7&AB7&AC7&AD7&AE7&AF7&AG7&AH7&AI7&AJ7&AK7&AL7)))

I created the conditional formatting formula to apply to the row for the first person listed, and then copied and pasted the formatting only for the rest of the personnel rows. The issue I'm having is that while it will highlight the seventh work days, it will often highlights all cells prior to the grouping which has seven straight days of work. It also tends to highlight single or multiple cells in red which do not fit the pattern, and whose rows may not even have seven straight days of work.

Format Multiple Cells Into Address Block?

May 3, 2013

how I can get this:

John Smith

1 Aisleby Avenue

Nottingham

Notts

NO1 1ON

i.e. each line in it's own cell
to look like this:
John Smith
1 Aisleby Avenue
Nottingham
Notts
NO1 1ON

In other words, an address block in a single cell. Simple merging only saves the first cell's contents.

I need to do this for 500 addresses

Multiple Conditional Format Conditions Changed Based On Another Cells Value?

Jun 12, 2009

A1:A6 have numeric values 1 to 6.

I want the conditional format values to change Based on the value in Cell B2.

If the value in B2 is "old", then I want these conditional format conditions for A1:A6. Numbers between 1-2=green text, 3-4=orange text and 5-6=red text.

IF the value in B2 is "new" then I want the conditional format conditions in A1:A6 to change so 1=black text, 2-3=green text, 4-5=orange text and 6=red text.

I know how to do multiple conditional formats but i have no clue how to change multiple conditions based on another cells value.

Excel 2007 :: Copying Conditional Format To Multiple Cells

Nov 5, 2013

I'm a 2007 user. I am trying to conditional format a range of F1:J10, where F1 will be conditionally formatted relationally to A1. G1 is relational to B1. H2 relational to C2, etc., all the way down to J10 relational to E10. My conditional format formula in cell F1 is >A1*2 (will format F1 as orange). I want to be able to copy the conditional formatting over so the formula in J10 for example would be: >E10*2 (will format it orange).

I omit the "$" in the conditional format formula in an attempt to prevent it from being absolute. But every time I copy the conditional formatting over to the other cells, the formula within those cells remains identical to the formula in the original cell.

Convert Cells With Percentage Format To 'same' Decimal In A Column With Mixed Format

Jun 7, 2006

I have a column of cells with values - 0.2%, 0.32%, 0.22, 0.5 etc. The cells with % symbol are in ' Percentage, 2 decimal' format while the plain numbers are in 'General' format i.e. column contains cells in either of these formats. I need a macro where I can specify the column and it will select the cells with the % format, convert it to 'General' and multiply the result by 100 eg. 0.2% converted to 'General' becomes 0.002. When multiplied by 100, result is 0.2 i.e. is displayed without the % symbol.

Excel 2003 :: Conditional Format Top / Mid / Bottom 33% Of Cells But Ignoring Blank Cells

Mar 25, 2012

I am trying to conditionally format the top middle and bottom thirds of a range of data. Problem is, that the range needs to be flexible as sometimes there may be a maximum of 36 cells with data, but sometimes there may be less (so there are blank cells in the range that need not be counted). The methods I have tried always include the blank cells, and so it is not equally formatting the thirds (as it includes the blanks cells as part of the bottom data)....

Here are the 2 methods Ive tried so far using excel 2003)
Top 34%:
=IF(INT(COUNT($D$3:$D$38)*34%)>0,LARGE($D$3:$D$38,INT(COUNT($D$3:$D
$38)*34%)),MAX( $D$3:$D$38))0,LARGE($D$3:$D$38,INT(COUNT($D$3:$D
$38)*67%)),MAX( $D$3:$D$38))0,LARGE($D$3:$D$38,INT(COUNT($D$3:$D
$38)*100%)),MAX( $D$3:$D$38))

Conditional Format Cells Containing Numbers And Letters - Ignore Cells With Number Only

Basically, I want to automatically highlight any cell that has any letter in it (e.g. z12o2 instead of 21202 or R705 instead of 5705), ignoring any cells that contain only numbers. I haven't had any luck using conditions based on formulas like =ISTEXT.

Combining Multiple Cells In Multiple Worksheets In Multiple Workbooks Into One Table

Jan 6, 2009

I'm currently doing a survey using an excel workbook that contains multiple questions across multiple worksheets using radio buttons linked to certain cells.

I have around 400 workbooks coming back to me, so what i want to do is take specific values from across many worksheets within each workbook and combine them into a large master table in a seperate workbook.

I've tried using VBA, but not being very proficient at it i've hit a brick wall with that, so i'm hoping that there is an easier way to do it than what i'm currently pursuing.

Format Multiple Charts Via VBA?

Jul 28, 2013

I have 23 Charts on a sheet which I place into a MS Word Doc. ATM all charts have borders, which is what one of my Managers like, however another Manger likes these charts without borders. I tried to record a macro so I could have this done by VBA (excel 2007) but it did not record the formatting. write a code to remove a border and and then add a border back in specifying colour, border styles (width etc). Say just for Chart 38, I can the just repeat this. But here are all the chart numbers in case you need them: 38,20,27,5,11,21,13,6,9,19,10,7,28,29,30,31,32,12,33,34,37,35 & 36.

Format Multiple Sheets At Once

Jan 22, 2010

I have 14 worksheets in a workbook.

All sheets are identical in that they have the same headings within the same range.

I want to apply formatting (bold some text, apply borders, center, etc.), but to all the sheets at once. I know I can do this with a simple loop, but I was wondering if there is a more efficient way of doing it.

I've been playing with
sheet( array(sheet1.name, sheet2.name))

I don't think I have correct syntax or use using the the above.

I tried coding what I would do if I was performing this manually, which is to select all the sheets and apply the formatting to sheet1. Then all the sheets would have the formatting.

Conditional Format Multiple Shading

May 21, 2008

In a workbook I have

Sheet 1 and Sheet 1a
1a is used to provide a start and finish date for a task - there are many of them
The following is located in a cell in sheet 1 which looks at 1a for the dates etc

HTML =IF(AND($A$427+B$430-1>='1a'!E10,$A$427+B$430-1<='1a'!I10,B$429<>"S"),"X","")

The end result is an X located in the respective feilds.
This works fine but.
I have set up the Calendar area in 1 so that when the X is shown it is Red.
The sheet also shows a Blank in both the SS [Sat and Sun]

What I would like to do is to have instead of the blank in the SS [Sat & Sun] a shaded grey which would clearly indicate that this was weekend.

What I am after is the weekdays with the X as now and the weekend only in a grey shade as it is at the moment without the X

Vba: Set Print Format Across Multiple Sheets

Jun 13, 2007

I'm trying to write a macro to select all the Sheets in a Workbook, and set some properties [Auto ColumnWidths, Landscape, and Fit to 1 page wide] for all of them.
I don't know the names of the sheets, nor how many there will be - this part is tagged on the end of a long macro that creates new files and pastes various data into them. The code below only seems to work on the Active sheet - not any of the others selected. Curiously, I can set a specific column width for all sheets, but not Auto Widths.

With ActiveWorkbook
Sheets.Select
With ActiveSheet.PageSetup
.PrintTitleRows = "$1:$1"
.Orientation = xlLandscape
.Zoom = False
.FitToPagesWide = 1
.FitToPagesTall = False
End With
End With

Sheets.Select
ActiveWindow.Zoom = 80 ' This line works!
Cells.Select
Selection.RowHeight = 13.5
Selection.EntireColumn.AutoFit
Columns("C:C").Select
Selection.ColumnWidth = 34 ' This line works

Format Cell Based On Value Within Multiple Columns?

Feb 16, 2013

I can't seem to find a good method to find a cell and change the cell color and then move on to the next cell. I have attached a workbook with actual data that I am working with.
