Function That Distributes Numbers Depending On The Quarter And Year?

I'm trying to find out a function that allows me to evenly spread the amounts given a certain start year and quarter and end year and quarter. Let's say, I have 20 dollars and the starts in 3Q/2012 and ends in 2Q/2013. Then, the money should be spread out in four quarters. If the end is in 3Q/2013, then the spread is five quarters, and the amount distribution automatically changes.

I have spreadsheet that I use to display quarterly metrics. Within the workbook, there are two spreadsheets; (1) output (2) data.
Part 1: I want the ability to view data for any quarter of any year. In columns O-P, I have created a dropdown for the year I want to view and option buttons for the quarter I want to view.
The data is organized in one sheet and includes all information by quarter.
As an example, say I want to display data for District 112 and I want to display data for the 3rd Quarter of 2007. I am trying to create a formula that would look in the table as follows: (1) look for district 112 then (2) look for 2007 then (3) look for 3rd quarter then (4) look for units sold. I tried using a modified lookup function but didn’t have any luck.
Part 2: The second part of my question is similar to the first part but in this case I need to summarize data (cells $B$18:$D:$22).
As an example, say I want to display the total number of sales in the U.S. for the 3rd quarter of 2007. In this example, I would look in the table for the following: (1) look for Division then (2) look for 2007 then (3) look for 3rd quarter then (4) sum all based on criteria.

In cell A1 I have a date entered as text as "Apr 2007". (That's the way my tool pulls it. Format can be changed if it helps)
I was able to pull the Quarter and year (Q2 2007) using...
A2 ="Q" & ROUNDUP(MONTH(A1)/3,0)&" "&YEAR(A1)
I need to pull the next three quarters and their year. (Q3 2007, Q4 2007, Q1 2008)

I am looking to create a function that outputs the upcoming quarter end date based on a specified start date, for which the quarter end is based on a broken fiscal year ending december 15.
As an example, say that you sign up as a customer with an internet provider on 2014-01-01. The internet provider charges all their clients on a quarterly basis and have a broken fiscal year ending on december 15. Hence, as you signed up on 2014-01-01 you will be charged on 2014-03-15, which is the date of the company's first quarter end.
So what I would like to do is to set up a function that outputs the first date I will be charged based on the date that I sign up. If I sign up between december 2013-12-16 and 2014-03-15, the formula should output 2014-03-15. If I sign up between 2014-03-16 and 2014-06-15, the formula should output 2014-06-15 etc. etc.

I'm trying to wrtie an IF statement to display one of Q1, Q2, Q3 or Q4 based on the three letter month abbrev. All i have so far is the following, which isn't leading anywhere - and i have a feeling theres an easier way to write it.

Need function to calculate the end of quarter for a given date after adding any number of months to that date. Example cell A1 would contain 01/15/2010. I want to add 6 months to A1. A2 would contain 6 making it 07/15/2010, B1 would contain a function that would display 09/30/2010.

I'm trying to put in dates into my spreadsheet depending on the year I enter in. in cell A1, I put in the year (2007). In cell S2, I want to have the first day of the first month to show up, so my formula is =DATE($A$1,COLUMN()-18,1). That works great, it shows up as 1/1/07, which I want. Now my question is, is there a way to copy the formula over to the right, leaving three blank cells and having 2/1/07 show up in cell W2, 3/1/07 in cell AA2, and so on. Right now when I copy it over, what shows up is: 5/1/07 in cell W2, 9/1/07 in cell AA2, and so on.

I have created a monster formula that extracts the Australian financial year (FYR) from a date string and would like to convert the formula to a nice tidy function.
the formula works on a date string with the following format: yyyy-mm-dd (2008-12-15)
for example the formula result for 2008-12-15 is 08/09 (yy/yy)

I would like to have an IF statement which if true gives a result of a date plus 365 days but if false gives a prescribed day and month but uses a year from another cell.
I was trying something like this : IF(J5="y",E5+365,01/04/YEAR(E5)) Where E5 gives a start date of a project in a dd/mm/yy format and I would like this to give the same dd/mm/yy format.
Does anyone have any suggestions - the first part of the statement should be fine it is really the year element that I am having trouble with.

I have got to this stage with a formula but cannot understand why it isn't working:
=IF(OR(A2=1,A2=2),(MIN(B2:B6)+50),(MAX(B2:B6)+50))
If A2 equals 1, I want it to add 50 on to the smallest (earliest) date in C2:C5.
BUT
If A2 equals 2, I want it to add 50 on to the largest (latest) date
The formula just adds 50 on the smallest (earliest) date, whether A2 equals 1 or 2.
What am I doing wrong?

I have a column titled "Start Date", "Month/Year", &"Total". I want to count the number of dates that appeared in the "start date" column that have the same month and year of the "month/year" column. That count should be in the total count. For ex, I want the first total (april 2008) to be 1, the second (may 2008) to be 1, and so on. I tried using countifs month and year of the start date is the month and year of the month/year column. Not working.

Is there anyway that when I choose (for example, Jan) the result shows the sum of January numbers. On the other hand, if I choose Feb, the results would be the sum of February. See Mar on cell C8 and Feb on cell E15.

I want to make continuing serial numbers in excel in order to print labels to be able to track my deliveries. i know i can drag the fill cursor to automatically make it go the next number. however i also want my serial number should represent the month and the day the invoice was printed.
for example i want the serial number should be
column a (Jan 01) column b (Jan 02 ) column c (Jan 03)
a1-01-01 a1-02-01 a1-03-01
a1-01-02 a1-02-02 a1-03-02
a1-01-03 a1-02-03 a1-03-02
The first number represents the month (example -a1 for Jan)
The second number represents the day and
The third number represents the invoice
How can i make that when i pul the cursor down it should continue with the invoice number
However when i continue right it should move the day number?

Im currently studying for an ICT A level and im in my first year doing AS. Im working the AQA board and i have a project that i have a target for an A! I need to create a system for a business and write a report on everything i did...wont go into detail. Anyway. i am having trouble with an IF FUNCTION!!! I have a cell (E35) that contains a percentage.
I want the IF function to display a message depending on what the percentage in cell E35 shows;
IF, 0>> Display "Bad"
40>> Display "OK"
70>> "Good"
90>> Display "Very Good"
E35>=100 >>>> Display "Excellent"
I have tried so many things and I was so sure i entered it correctly, but it keeps coming up with an error.

I have a problem where there are 4 arguments passed to my COUNTIFS function to give me a total count i.e. "KP","James Report","Completed","Month"
Here is the Formula I used;
=COUNTIFS(Master!$B$2:$B$29,Picklist!$C$8,Master!$D$2:$D$29,B3,Master!$H$2:$H$29,Picklist!$C$2,Master!K2:K57,Picklist!E9 )
The last part of my formula is throwing an error "K2:K57"
What I should get in plain English.... "The number of 'James Report' 'Completed by 'KP' in 'August'. (Any specified month based on what comes from my "dates field" on my Master sheet.
I have got a field in my Master sheet with dates which I have transposed into the right month of the year using Month().

I have a small problem using the ‘sumproduct function’ which I am using it to calculate the area under curves using the following equation (=SUMPRODUCT((B10:B109-B9:B108)*(D10:D109+D9:D108))*0.5). However I have hundreds of curves to calculate the area under and the length of the data series for each curve is different, I am currently changing the length of the data series by hand. I have attached an example worksheet of 2 sets of data (the formula I am using at the moment is highlighted in blue – row 203). Is there are function or formula that I can use inside this equation to change the range of the formula depending on the length of the data series?

I want to create a dynamic line graph using week and year numbers stated in another sheet.
e.g.
Start Year - 2012
End Year - 2014
Start Week - 3
End Week - 12
The top 2 rows above my graph data are as below:
Year - 2012 2012 2012
Week - 5 6 7 etc.
This works fine if the start and end year are the same but if it's greater than one year, it doesn't recognise that.

I have two combo boxes: One for entering the Year, and one for the month. I can produce a message if the user leaves either box blank but I want a message to apear it the user selects a year AND month less than the current year (iYear) and current month (iMonth). I therefore need an AND statement between the two criteria but i dont know how to do it.

In a macro I want to automatically insert a formula in several cells. The formula depends on other cells, and I want to be able to manipulate these cells with variables. Here is my code:

Sheets("DATOS YTD 2014").Cells(I, 3) is the reference cell for the VLOOKUP formula, that will vary with I
SheetMonth.Range("B3:W172") is a range in the sheet SheetMonth which is fixed
The error message I receive is the following: "Run-time error 13, Type mismatch"
I precise that the next step is to make the ",6," part in the vlookup formula also variable... but I guess once my current issue is solved this one will be a piece of cake.

Looking for a formula to compare current year values to previous year values. For example, if the current year has values for the month of January through March (100, 100 and 150), current year value will be 350 and the previous year value will be 975 (i.e. 300+275+400). The aim here is to make the previous year months summation equal to the present (or current) values. As new values are entered for the current year, the previous year's values will have to change to reflect the new month's value entered for the current year.

I am working on a budget for myself and want it to have running dates so the first data column will have the current month. I was able to succeed with this using the EOMONTH function followed by EDATE functions in the following cells, I then have these columns filled using a nested VLOOKUP MATCH function pair.
The problem I run into is with the months that extend into the next year, in my data table I have month by month listed started on 01/01/2014 ending 12/01/2014 but as soon as the month is no longer January the last column in my budget cannot find the information needed due to it looking for 2015. so what I would like to know is if there is a way to make the data table change the year to the following year after today is beyond that month, so for example on March 1 2014 both January and February would be changed to 2015.
