Handling Non-Unique Cell Values

I have attached a sample spreadsheet. I'm looking for a macro that will take column one which contains Company names which are sometimes duplicated and append an incremental number based on the number of occurrences to the end of the company forcing it to be unique. Column 2 has the example of the results I would like to see. Has anyone got a macro that I could use that would allow me to select the company column, run the macro, and it update the values in that column to append the incremental number?

I have one column of data. there are currently ~10k rows, but this will increase over time. each row has either a single value (example: pepsi) or a comma separated value (google,samsung) with up to 6 commas. instead of the rows looking like this:
pepsi
google,samsung
coca-cola
I want them to look like this in one column (preferably via a formula):
pepsi
google
samsung
coca-cola
I would like the above output to be a unique, alphabetized list.

I have a list of all transactions that happened during the day at different locations On another sheet I want to list all the locations and in another column to populate a list of unique transaction codes for each location from the first sheet (all unique values for each location in one cell). I am attaching a spreadsheet in case I am not clear enough (I need to create a Summary). This attachment is really a simplification of a file I work with. The real one has many columns and multiple subtotals, I would not be able to incorporate a method that involve filters

I've had a look at some examples of extracting unique values but it seems quite complex to me!
I have a list of customer names in column A, column B contains a material code (number format), column C contains the material information sheet (text & number format), column D contains the date that the material information sheet was sent (all column headers are in row 1).
Columns E, F & G follow the same format as above but for a different material code - this is repeated further in Columns H, I & J.
All of the material codes are different, but some material information sheets can be the same for some materials.
In column K I need to identify the unique material information sheet values for each customer, as some are duplicated.
Is this possible? There may be some blank values in the row i.e. a customer does not receive a certain material.
Perhaps just an easier way of organising the spreadsheet!

When I enter this formula I get a #VALUE! error. I think it's because cell AG46 has an IF formula that results in "blank" if 0. How do I fix this error so that it includes cell AG46 and if cell AG46 is blank it counts it as a zero?
=SUM(A12)-(AG46*8)(=40 is the answer I'm looking for)
=SUM(40)-(0*8)

I have a group of employees who work different divisions and work is not done everyday. I want to count the unique values of a division (only once) per day that the division shows up. Within a week, workers in a division might work 3 days and not other days. I've tried a few array formulas but they count unique within a range and I need the unique value to be based on the selected cell.

I am attempting to count how many cells have different values in a table while not counting the N/A's and 0's found in the table. From what I'm finding online, I see lots of formulas set up with frequency functions, but none of them are set up to exclude anything - just find unique values. I need to count the cells with values other than 0 and N/A going across each row and not count the same value twice
Here's an example of what the table looks like (the real one is over 1,000 rows and 50 columns) with column C being where the formula needs to go. I put what I would like to have returned in the cells.

In the picture below, I need a formula in column E to count the unique occurrences in column A (excluding blanks) if its corresponding value in column B (B1 value) matches that in column D (B2 value). Currently column E is showing the values I would want the formula to return.

At the moment I have a formula as below:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B:B=$D2),--(A:A<>""))
this will do a countif in column A if column B matches the value in column D, but would not weed out duplicates for me.
Modifying my formula. I have attached the sample workbook below.

Have numerous values in Col A. Col E extracts a list of unique values from that column.
In Col C, the Col A value has had characters added to it.
Need a formula to count the number of unique values from Col C which contain the same prefix from Col A, and place the result in Col F.
A sample workdook is attached with the desired result shown and highlighted in yellow.

I have a main workbook that is meant to summarize data from other workbooks
In Row 6 from column H on I have workbook names in each cell
Column G in all workbooks (including the main one) contains our branch #'s for our offices
For each workbook listed in row 6 , I need to open that workbook (I have that setup with the code below---notice there is an AX.xls that is appended to the file names listed in row 6 in order for the names to match what is in the windows directory)
In the newly opened workbook, I need to, for each value in column G, copy the value from adjacent cell in column H (the dollar value) then search column G of the main workbook for a matching branch and paste the value to the appropriate row under the workbook name column (remember workbook names are in row 6)
The trouble is, for each branch in column G in the newly opened workbook that cannot be found in the main workbook, I need to paste the new branch # at the bottom row of/in column G and the $ value (H column value from the newly opened workbook) to the corresponding row under the workbook name column

In cell H5 there is list of dates and in H7 there is codex, based on these two conditions in H11 a data validation list should be populated from the code_sheet using column B. The populated list should be unique entries, as the column B in code_sheet has duplicates.

This is a logic based macro that needs to compare values in 1 column above a specific cell and take action until the column has no more data. Here's what I'm trying to do (and I've also attached a sample of desired results):
1) I want user to input starting cell. So I need to create a button for that.
2) This is where the logic begins and I'm having difficulty.
From cell defined in button, I move up one cell in that column and compare that value to the original cell.
If the value is greater than original cell then logic needs 2 outcomes:
a) move up 1 cell in column and if that value is less than original cell, then extract that value and copy that value one cell to the right or 1c.
b) move up 1 cell in column and if that value is greater than original cell, then move up again, until find lesser value than original cell. Once we find value less than original cell, extract value and copy value one cell to the right or 1c.

I have some data with recurring key values and differing values in the second column, I need to produce a unique list of key values with the second values concatenated together.(See below)
The data can be 10 rows to 5000 and I can have anything from 5 to 150 sheets (Separate data sets), a macro would go a long way to keeping me sane.
Sample data Required Output

My system is Windows 8 Excel 2010.

1. Using a formula, I am trying to to obtain a list of unique values (string) (caveat: see #2) from the range E2:E10000 (arbitrarily chose 10000 - the row number is variable)(see #3).
I currently have a formula that seems to work for this purpose but I don't know how to add the condition in #2 (below)
2. To include all unique string values except those starting with the letters "IC"
3. Is there a way to make this formula so that it can only seek values up to the last row, and not go to the 10000th row if not necessary? The E column has no empty cells until after the last row that contains data.
Here is the formula I currently use which serves #1 (above):

Any way to improve/simplfy this formula for the purpose describbed in #1? How can I add the condition in #2? Can you see a way to include #3? The most important issue here is #2.

I'm running into an issue trying to calculate unique values in a Data column based on a few variables in other columns.
My current formula in Summary tab D4:D19 is
{=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(Data!$I$3:$I$66<$E$1,IF(Data!$A$3:$A$66=$H$1,

This is currently counting the number of times a date value (data column I) appears for that name (A4:A19) in the data when meeting all of the conditions. I need it to instead count the number of times a unique date appears for that name with the additional conditions met (which all appear to work fine).
The results in the pink highlighted cells (Summary column D) should be:
Names starting with A - 3
All others - 2
I've left some other columns in the data with X's so that I can easily convert this back to my working spreadsheet.

I have 12 columns of data. In those 12 columns of data I have 3 digit numeric IDs. I want to count the unique number of IDs for each row. I have about 14K rows.
What would be the best way to do so?
Some rules about how the data is stored. I have 12 columns of data with anywhere from 1 to 12 columns having data for each respondent. Data always fills left to right and never skips columns.
I have attached an example file that represents how the data is stored and the output I would like (Unique Count).

i try to paste in active cell copied range.

- i click/select on any free cell (f.e. B1)
- then i run macro
i expected it paste unique values (text or number)

I have an array that I'm using - and it works perfectly: =SUM(If((FREQUENCY(If(LEN(B10:B100)>0,MATCH(B10:B100,B10:B100,0),""),If(LEN(B10:B100)>0,MATCH(B10:B100,B10:B100,0),""))>0),1))
Now, what I would like to do, is see how many of these unique numbers relate to another number in column D

I'm trying to think of a way to do this. I need a unique ID number per company, so I would want it to look something like this:
0001: Apple
0001: Apple
0002: Google
0003: Sony
0003: Sony
0003: Sony
0003: Sony
0004: Ford
0004: Ford
0004: Ford
.....and on and on for about 400+ rows. I think I know how to state the condition. IF B15 =/= B14 then....assign unique ID, else A15 = A14....or something to that effect.

I have an ever growing client list that currently has just over 2500 names which I need to track the total number of clients, which is the easy part, the total number of files, and the most important part is how many unique names are on the list. Some clients will appear a number of times on different dates, and I need to be able to track how many clients appear only once in the list.

I have some data and one of the columns is overtime. The data is set up where each employee has a record for each function they perform. So I may have an employee that opens and funds loans. They will have 2 records and one of the fields in the record is overtime. My issue is, in this example, that the OT will be doubled if I just sum the column. I need to sum the unique values only.

I have a spreadsheet into which users enter account details. I have another spreadsheet which is updated periodically which contains a valid list of accounts.
Currently I am using the following code which works perfectly to see if the account is valid or not:
If WorksheetFunction. CountIf(coaRange, checkAccount) = 0 Then
where coaRange is the search range on the valid accounts spreadsheet and checkAccount is the string of the current account to check. If I get 0 I know the account isn't valid and I highlight the incorrect cell. All this is in a loop checking each account. What I would now like to improve is the speed at which the checks are peformed. Sometimes there may be 700 rows with account details in but there might only be 10 different accounts.

I'm currently working on that requires me to compare and update between two different workbooks, "MyData" and "Daily".
As the names imply the first is an ongoing database the second "Daily" is upto date information that arrives each morning. In both workbooks there is a column that contains unique data/serial number.
I have written some code that compares these numbers, if they are the same the new upto date information overwrites the original information (replaces entire row), if the serial number is new it adds it as a new entry in the last row.
Well so far so good, actually I have only managed to do this on the same worksheet, but it does work.
As there is a lot of data I'm looking for the fastest way to "look" for this information should I compare between the two open workbooks line by line, should I copy all of the data from the "Daily" to a worksheet in "MyData" and work from there.
