Unique Values From A Single Cell
Dec 18, 2013I have a single cell comprising A|B|C| A. How do i get the unique values? Also, any chance to count the variables.

View 2 RepliesI need to count the unique items in a range that don't contain the string "option". I would like not to use VBA for that but I can't make it work with a simple formula.
For now, I have :
[Code] ......
That doesn't count the cell with the content "option" and count correctly the other unique items. However I need to ignore any cell that contains the string "option" (with wildcards).
If I have, in one cell (call it D1):
EH,DR,HU
and in a lookup table on another sheet:
A B
1 ED T
2 EH F
3 DR G
4 HU H
5 SE E
6 YU E
I need to be able to lookup the values in D1 on the table and return the values in column B to a single cell (say E1), also comma separated...
eg...
F,G,H
I have one column of data. there are currently ~10k rows, but this will increase over time. each row has either a single value (example: pepsi) or a comma separated value (google, samsung) with up to 6 commas. instead of the rows looking like this:
pepsi
google,samsung
coca-cola
I want them to look like this in one column (preferably via a formula):
pepsi
google
samsung
coca-cola
I would like the above output to be a unique, alphabetized list.
see the attached sheet. It already has some example....I need the result of the addition in the cells of column F, at the side Say column G, in the coressponding row. e.g for cell F9, I need the result in G9, and so on. For testing, step 1. Select M+R in Col "TOI", enter some value in the pop up. step 2. Again select M+R in "TOI", enter some value in the pop up. the Col F will have some additions (e.g 1+2), for which I need the result in the corresponding next column. i.e col G.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the following data on a spreadsheet created by a formula:
A1: 1.1234
A2. 2.234
A3: 3.34
I have the data formatted to only have two decimal places so it looks like this:
A1: 1.12
A2: 2.23
A3: 3.34
I'm using the following formula in cell B1 to display the values of those cells in a single cell in order A1,A2,A3:
=A1 & "," & A2 & "," & A3
However when the values of A1, A2 and A3 appear in the in cell B1 they appear as: 1.1234,2.234,3.34
Is there a way I can edit the formula or format something so the values in B1 appear as with only two decimal places? i.e 1.12,2.23,3.34
I'm trying to validate the data entered into a series of cells each cell can contain a different set of data but the value N/A is also permitted. For example:
Cell A1 could contain a date from 2013-01-01 thru 2013-12-01 but the value N/A is also valid
Cell A2 could contain a decimal from 0.01 thru 302502.23 but the value N/A is also valid
Cell A3 could contain an integer from 3 thru to 9000 but the value N/A is also valid
When the acceptable values are entered then I want to be able to carry on otherwise I want to pop up with an error.
I have an assigned value of 10 to each checkbox that is checked. If the checkbox is selected I want to automatically sum the totals in a cell on my active sheet. Checkboxes are activeX placed directly on a worksheet. I currently have a work around but considering the number of checkboxes I have, coding is going to be a nightmare as I would have to code each one separately. Right now I am summing each box on another sheet and linking the summed total back to active sheet.
[Code] ....
I would like to do all check boxes with one code and sum the total in the active sheet in cell "I7". The set of checkboxes is 1 to 26.
I am looking to produce a formula that shows if a number is "found" or "not

I have list of over 1000 numbers in one column (1 number per row) . I am
trying to identify if those values are present in a range of numbers from
another worksheet(also in a single column). My challenge is that the range of
numbers that I am looking in has multiple values, separated by commas in a
single cell. Looks like it was from an Access data dump.
I have a list of all transactions that happened during the day at different locations On another sheet I want to list all the locations and in another column to populate a list of unique transaction codes for each location from the first sheet (all unique values for each location in one cell). I am attaching a spreadsheet in case I am not clear enough (I need to create a Summary). This attachment is really a simplification of a file I work with. The real one has many columns and multiple subtotals, I would not be able to incorporate a method that involve filters
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have attached a sample spreadsheet. I'm looking for a macro that will take column one which contains Company names which are sometimes duplicated and append an incremental number based on the number of occurrences to the end of the company forcing it to be unique. Column 2 has the example of the results I would like to see. Has anyone got a macro that I could use that would allow me to select the company column, run the macro, and it update the values in that column to append the incremental number?

I have a series of columns (L - X) each representing a diagnosed disorder (Dx), coded as binary, with 1=Positive Diagnosis (Success). The reference cell contains diagnostic codes; for each respective Dx column I need a 1 or 0, obviously. Each Dx category has a range of values (Dx codes), so I need to write syntax that reflects this range. For example, =IF(A1=>141,AND(A1=<239.99)),"1","0")
In other words, if cell value is 141 through 239.99 then return 1, else 0
Would it be something like this:
=IF(AND(A1=>141,OR(A1=<239.99)),"1","0")
I am building a marketing dashboard that shows the effectiveness of two campaigns based on where the campaign has been deployed (website, email, facebook, twitter, google+ etc.). In each campaign I have a checklist (using developer ribbon) with these different dimensions.
I want a formula that checks the checklist, identifies all the boxes that are unticked and returns them in a single cell. The cell would read:
To increase traffic to the Shampoo campaign (Campaign A), expose it to Google+ and Facebook as these channels generated 578 and 2009 visitors respectively for the Makeup campaign (Campaign B).
I already have it working for returning a single value with the following formula but need it to return multiple values.
=IFERROR("To increase traffic to the "&B4&" campaign, expose it to "&INDEX(L4:L10,MATCH(K5,M4:M10,FALSE))&" "&"as"&" "&"this channel generated "&VLOOKUP(INDEX(L4:L10,MATCH(K5,M4:M10,FALSE)),L26:N31,2,FALSE)&" visitors for the "&D4&" campaign","")
I have a list of products and would like to find what are the missing products which aren't ordered yet from the customer.
As the example: let's assume numbers from 1 to 9.
And I have some numbers, like this: 2, 4, 6, 7. What is the formula which can copy automatically the missing one into one cell?
See the attachment : howtodothis.xls
I know, how to copy multiple cell into one cell (like A4&", "&", "A5 etc), but how to find the missing numbers?
I am looking for formula , single cell two numerical values , multiply in different columns
example :
Cell (A1) contain: =350,23+25,59 (two values in a single cell)
request:
in (B2) only first value so 350,23 multiply (x) by fixed number &in (C2) only second value so 25,59 multiply (x) by fixed number

The cell has values that are formatted in multiple ways for example: PXX--XXP, --XO, OXX--.
I want the formula to return 4 if the cells has PXX--XXP or 3 if the cells has --OXX etc.
I need to count the number of values entered into a single cell seperated by commas for record keepin purposes. I would prefer not to use a macro since I am not an expert, but will if i must. Here is an example of what i am talking about:
User A will enter "109,108,107,106" into a cell in Column A
At the bottom of column A the Total will read 4.
Now User B enters "110,111,112,113" into the next cell in Column A
At the bottom of column A the Total will read 8.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had a look at some examples of extracting unique values but it seems quite complex to me!
I have a list of customer names in column A, column B contains a material code (number format), column C contains the material information sheet (text & number format), column D contains the date that the material information sheet was sent (all column headers are in row 1).
Columns E, F & G follow the same format as above but for a different material code - this is repeated further in Columns H, I & J.
All of the material codes are different, but some material information sheets can be the same for some materials.
In column K I need to identify the unique material information sheet values for each customer, as some are duplicated.
Is this possible? There may be some blank values in the row i.e. a customer does not receive a certain material.
Perhaps just an easier way of organising the spreadsheet!
How to have a validation list (drop-down) from a single-cell in which values are separated by a comma.
Example I have.
I have a wine list which have many categories of which
COL A / COL B / COL C
Wine Name / Wine Producer / Vintage
I wrote a VBA code to look-up duplicates names and give the producers that make them. The names of the producers will be in an invis cell as Comma Separated Values.
For example: Wine 11 is made by producer X and Wine 11 is made by producer Y. I will have X,Y in a cell which need to be in a drop-down menu when Wine 11 is selected.
I got everything done. The only issue is to get the list. The problem is that the drop-down list shows X,Y as a single component and not as 2 drop-down components. If i were to write down X,Y in the validation list tab, it will show it as 2 components but referring to the cell doesn't.
I am trying to read a value in cell A1 and make say cell B1 read the same. The data in cell A1 is a real time percentage value that gets updated every lets say 10 secs. Every time the data is updated the new value goes into the next cell A2, A3, A4..... and so on. Every time it gets updated (i.e into A1,A2,A3,A4.....and so on), I want to read the new value each time in B1.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a group of employees who work different divisions and work is not done everyday. I want to count the unique values of a division (only once) per day that the division shows up. Within a week, workers in a division might work 3 days and not other days. I've tried a few array formulas but they count unique within a range and I need the unique value to be based on the selected cell.

If i lookup a value in the range A1:A12, say Sep-12, i need to get the cell address instead of the value of the row. but i know how to get cell address using CELL function. but i need to get cell address when i lookup the value.because lookup value will be dynamic.
I am attempting to count how many cells have different values in a table while not counting the N/A's and 0's found in the table. From what I'm finding online, I see lots of formulas set up with frequency functions, but none of them are set up to exclude anything - just find unique values. I need to count the cells with values other than 0 and N/A going across each row and not count the same value twice
Here's an example of what the table looks like (the real one is over 1,000 rows and 50 columns) with column C being where the formula needs to go. I put what I would like to have returned in the cells.

Is it possible to produce one unique list from two, and preferably in alphabetical order, without resorting to VBA? i.e. a formula solution.
I've attached a sample.
In the picture below, I need a formula in column E to count the unique occurrences in column A (excluding blanks) if its corresponding value in column B (B1 value) matches that in column D (B2 value). Currently column E is showing the values I would want the formula to return.
Capture.PNG
At the moment I have a formula as below:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B:B=$D2),--(A:A<>""))
this will do a countif in column A if column B matches the value in column D, but would not weed out duplicates for me.
Modifying my formula. I have attached the sample workbook below.
