Hide Pivot Pages But Enable Drilldown

Dec 1, 2007

I need to send out mailings to a group of attorneys, and each attorney should get a separate mailing. I take the main pivot tab, which reads the information for all the attorneys from the detail tab, and then do "show pages" by attorney name.

I then use VBA to kick each tab into a new workbook, so each attorney has a separate workbook, but the pivot still reads from the detail from the main workbook's detail tab.

I need to prevent the attorneys from viewing eachother's information, but if I password the sheet, they can't drilldown to detail.

how to enable drilldown for each attorney but prevent them from viewing other attorneys' mailings?

The only way I can think of is to move the detail tab to each individual attorney's workbook and delete all of the other entries, and this is too much work.

Pivot Table Drilldown For Multiple Values

Aug 1, 2008

Is there a way to drill down the data of 100 values in a pivot table into one worksheet without resorting to drilling down each value, having 100 worksheets for each value, to paste into one worksheet? I got my company to give me an experimental computer to test for this in 2007, though if there is a way to do this in 2003,

Split Pivot Table Field Into Seperate Sheets & Not Allow Drilldown

May 24, 2008

My goal is to macro the creation of pivot tables into seperate worksheets based on each particular record in the "Office" (location). Ultimately, I will apply an email macro to send out each pivot table (and source data if necessary) to various recipients. I need to make sure that each recipient of a pivot table is limited to only drill into the detail for their particular "Office" and not able to view other location's information in the Source Data worksheet--is this possible, or do I need to create separate source data worksheets for each Office's pivot table in order to limit the viewing?

Items I need guidance on:
Creating a macro to breakout pivot tables into seperate worksheets based on "Office" locationPlease advise on how I can secure Pivot Tables so that the user can only drill into the information originally presented in the pivot table they receive and will not be allowed to view all of the source data.
Please find attached a file with my source data and an example of a pivot table for one of the Office locations (Chicago).

Pivot Table With Show Pages Macro?

Feb 22, 2013

I am trying to to create a macro that will complete a Pivot Table, then use the Show All pages function. The data has the same number of columns each time, but the rows will differ each and everytime. The content of the column which houses the data which eventually will be a page can differ as well. I continue to get an errro and below is highlighted when debug is selected.

ActiveWorkbook.PivotCaches.Create(SourceType:=xlDatabase, SourceData:= _
"Table1", Version:=xlPivotTableVersion12).CreatePivotTable TableDestination _
:="Sheet4!R3C1", TableName:="PivotTable2", DefaultVersion:= _
xlPivotTableVersion12

This is a very repititive pivot that is done many times during a month. I have tried just using the data as is then the pivot, and converting the data into a table, doesn't matter still get the error.

VBA To Create A Hyperlink Drilldown For Each Cell

Aug 17, 2006

I need help in making a VBA to create a looping hyperlink drilldown for each cell in the inventory_general wksht.

The purpose of this sheet is to allow a user to click on a hyperlink which will then reference a macro to
autofilter the data in the bin_lot worksheet to display all rows for that particular item number.

Apparently, you can't select all the cells and insert a hyperlink because all the hyperlinks will reference the first cell value for autofiltering.

This is what I tried but it's not working obviously.

Sub HyperlinkDrilldown()

'
ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Add Anchor:=Selection, Address:="", SubAddress:= _
"Bin_Lot!A1", TextToDisplay:=target.value
Range("A2:A21").Select

Import Data From Access Table To Pivot Table - Enable Auto Refresh

Feb 1, 2010

I have enable Refresh on Open for my excel pivot table, but user need to click "Enable Automatic Refresh" , only solution i came across is to change the registry setting. Which i dont have access to edit registry(admin disable the access).

Alternate solution i try to use Access macro to automate the process and use Outputto save it as a excel file A. Then use excel file B to update pivot table from excel file A.(as excel A data is always latest)
The problem is i will get "....A file name already exist...do you want to overwrite.." prompt.
Which defeat the automate process.

Any other solution to enable the automatic refresh on open the excel workbook?

Or Access can overwrite the exist file or save it as another file name with timestamp ?

VBA Hide Pivot Page Fields

May 15, 2013

How to hide the Pivot Table pagefields . Because I have so many filters on my pivot table to get it where I want it to be, I chose to use some PageFields. Trouble with these, is they look awful on my report which will be issued in PDF format so not an interactive field at all.

When I use the PF.Orientation =xlHidden on a page field, it affects the accuracy of the report

If I use this on a rowfield, no problem.

Is there a VBA way to hide pagefields?

Code:
Set PF = pt.PivotFields("Hours Code Effective")
PF.Orientation = xlPageField
With pt.PivotFields("Hours Code Effective")
.PivotItems("Yes").Visible = True
.PivotItems("No").Visible = False
.PivotItems("(blank)").Visible = False

End With
' Set PF = pt.PivotFields("Hours Code Effective")
' PF.Orientation = xlHidden

Hide Dates In Pivot Table

May 31, 2007

I've got a database view that holds data for over a year, i use a - 2 day rule to show net data, for example
todays date is the 31th 5 2007 if i show data up untill today it will be gross data, so i use the -2day rile to show the net data,
the way i do this is in a pivot table i hide the last 2 date.

I have a DTS package the refreshed the Pivot table but i'd like also to have a macro or maybe vba script to ide the
2 last days this will have to happen every day so for to day it will hide the 30th and 29 tomorrow it will show
the 29th and hide the 30 & 31th. I still need to have the data for the 30th & 31 in the drilldown as some people work with
the gross data so i can't just make the change inthe database i wish it was that easy. At the moment i go in to the
pivot table and Highligh the last 2 days. i'd like a way of doing this automically.

I have been able to hide these values in the PivotTable itself by Conditional Formatting or custom number formats but they still show up in the chart!? how I can get the 0% values to be hidden or not show on the charts at all? I don't want to have to do this manually for every 0% that shows because the data changes daily dynamically. A VBA or Macro solution would be preferred.

Conditionally Hide Pivot Data Fields

I have pivot tables with one row field and two or three data fields. I want to be able to quickly hide rows that do not have entries in *all* data fields.

I thought of auto- filtering my data source, but don't think that would be practical as I want to have several tables powering off of the same source data (with many columns), and also the data source is auto-filled with API... Is there a way to traverse the rowfields with vba and hide them if there isn't an entry for every data field? Or a better way than both of those?

Hide / Show Pivot Table Areas On Condition

Feb 24, 2008

I'm just stuck on a final thing......I would like the pivot table to collapse based on the outcome of a formula. For instance I've got a project that has A, B, C, D as component parts, these parts all have a percentage work completed. If let's say A is a 100% complete I would like to automatically collapse A, so it will just show the summary for A. Obviously this can be done by hand, but since there is quite a lot of data I would like to automate the proces.
