I have the formulas below that work great. The issue is they are all based on Today. I need them to read cell B2 and base them on that instead of today.
Example: Today is Tuesday 5/13/14. So if I put in =TODAY()+7-WEEKDAY(TODAY()-6) it will give me this coming up fridays date 5/16/14. Perfect.
I want to add something to that so it looks at B2 instead of today, so if B2 had 6/16/14 (falls on a Monday) as a value it would give me 6/20/14(that is the next friday after 6/16/14).
Sunday =TODAY()+7-WEEKDAY(TODAY()-1)
Monday =TODAY()+7-WEEKDAY(TODAY()-2)

I have a list of dates in Col A, then data in B. I want to take an average of the data between the first Tuesday of every month. What's the best way to do this?
So in Jan 2014, that would be all data from the 7th until the 4th. Inclusive of the 7th, not inclusive of the 4th.
I am wondering if anyone could possibly help me figure out an excel function that would allow me to make a list of payments by year (from 2008 to 2015) that are received on the second tuesday of every month.

A meeting will be held every 3rd Thursday of the month for all new hires. What I am trying to accomplish is calculating the 3rd Thursday of the month PRIOR to the 1st of every month.
i.e. hire date is 3/11/14 - 1st letter goes out 3/26/14 (15 days) - 2nd letter goes out 4/25/14 (45 days).
Their eligibility date is 6/1/14 (1st of the month following 60 days).
The meeting is held on 5/15/14 (3rd Thursday of the month prior to the first of the month (June))...

In cell A1 I have a date (like 8/1/08)
In A3, B3, and C3 I need to have the first Monday, Thursday, and Friday of the month. Here's the caveat, I need A3 to have the day that comes earliest in the month.
In this case, A3 would contain 8/1/08 since it's the first Friday, B3 would have 8/4/08 as the first Monday, then C3 would have 8/7/08 as the first Thrusday.
If A1 contained 7/1/08 then A3 would have 7/3/07 as the first Thursday with Friday and Monday following.
I need a formula to find the delivery date for an order. If the order is placed by Friday, it will be delivered on the following Thursday as long as it isn't a holiday when it would be the following Friday. I have the holidays listed in a range of cells I2:I5.

I am trying to write a macro to send mail on every Friday and also on last day of every month. If the last day of the month falls on Saturday or Sunday then the macro should mail on Friday. I have written a separate macro to send a mail. I have also written to check day(ie Monday, Tuesday etc) of today. If today is Friday or month end i can send mail. I dont know how to tell the macro to send mail on friday if the month last date is saturday or sunday.

I'm having issues with sumproduct. I can't seem to get the right info that I need. Attached is the file I'm working on. Problem: I need to get the number of people "Occupied", "Partly Occupied" and "Available" on a Monday, Tuesday etc of the current week. "Occupied" means an employee has more than 2 tasks (based on New and Active-To-Date status). "Partly Occupied" means an employee is working on 2 tasks.
"Available" means an employee has NO task at all.
I need to match data in cell A to cell B and then if they equal I need to copy the adjacent cell C to cell X . How do I set up a macro to do this automatically? I have over 5000 cells to compare and match up.. I have Office 2003.

For example, if cell A1 contains the text "CHARLES" with a comment saying "Employee of the Month", and is then subsequently updated with the new text "JOHN" (again, via direct input, a VLOOKUP, data validation, etc.) is there a way to have the comment automatically update to say something else, such as "Team Lead" for example?
I've considered using VBA to accomplish my goal, but am unsure how to compose an effective code to do so. I've also considered perhaps creating a named table filled with all the different comment possibilities I would like to have used in this cell and then inputting a formula in either cell A1, or the comment contained therein, that would then call the corresponding text from that table based on the data in cell A1. Honestly, I'm not sure that what I'm trying to do is even possible;

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the mouse pointer to select a cell I can't use the arrow keys to move to another cell while the pointer is over the cell and I can't edit the cell while the pointer is over the cell. If I move the pointer away from the cell then I can move around and edit as normal therefore I don't think this is a scroll lock issue.
This issue also happens when I select a tab. If I select a tab and then leave the pointer over the tab I selected then I can't use the arrow keys to move around the worksheet or edit a cell; if I move the pointer away from the cell then I can move around and edit as normal.
I am using MS Excel 2010.
I would like to add a date to one cell (say A6) and have this do two things:
#1) this would add "Closed" to a given cell such a A5.
#2) and this would add a color to a group of cells like A1 through A8.
I have one column that contains a monetary amount (column AQ) , and another that contains text reading either "inflows" or "outflows" (column AC)
When AC says "inflows", AQ should be positive, and when AC says "Outflows", AQ should be negative.
I need the text in column AQ (the monetary amount) to become red when the the opposite is true.
i.e. When AQ is negative and AC says "Inflows", AQ should become red. And when AQ is positive and AC says "Outflows", AQ should become red.
I have 2 problems relating to LOOKUP.
Not sure if Excel can perform these calculations as they could get to complex.

Can it be possible to have excel look at data from one cell reference another cell then display the results from the cell next to it in another cell, sort of example:

So it would work as follows.
Tab2 column B will take Tab2 column A’s data check Tab1 column A and display Tab1 column B’s result.

I have the following range of cells B2:Y3700. I want that when a value from 1 to 9999 is inserted in one cell of the above mentioned range, to copy the row number of that cell in the cell that is located in column Z and row is the number inserted in that cell. I have a spreadsheet with details of letters that should be responded to within 20 days, and i want to have a cell showing the amount that that need a response within 10 - 5 days. Basically I want to have a value of one returned to a cell in a row if one cell in that row contains a value between 10 and 5 (less than 11, more than 4) and another cell is blank. For example, AD27 contains 6, k27 is blank. I want AE27 to show 1. I also need the same if the value is less than 5, but i'm sure i could figure out how to alter it.

sheet2 has sequential numbers in column1 starting in row2 with the number 1 until wherever..., so cell A2 has number 1, cell A3 has number 2, etc...
Manually, a user has to fill in certain text next to a number.
This for example would look something like this:
