How can I link 2 sheets in excel? If I have 2 different rows in 2 different sheets and want to calculate the difference between them (THE ROWS), i.e. On one sheet i have a number lets say 4 and on the other sheet I have 8. On one of the sheets (doesnt matter which one) I want to calculate the difference which in this case is 4. And automatically when I change one of the numbers the difference also changes automatically..

I have worksheet1 with 200+ customers and 12 months of data for each customer. I want to link each month to a separate worksheet (worksheet2, 3....12) for all customers. (i.e., customer 1's January activity across row 1, customers 2's January activity across row 2.....)
Is there a way for me to create a formula or copy comand to link row1, worksheet1's data to row1 worksheet2 and then every 13th row in worksheet1 to row2, row3...in worksheet2?
Right now I'm just putting the = in worksheet2 and mousing over to worksheet1.

How can I use VBA to set up multiple ranges & or Columns in Workbook 1 (Sheet 1) Col A:C and have them linked to Sheet 1 Col D:F in another workbook 2 EG. I want to run a Macro that writes data in Workbook 1 and have it show up in the other workbook. regular Copy/Paste is not an option. The macro writes to varying columns weekly in Workbook 1. Can I also link irregular named ranges across workbooks.

I have an excel file containing three sheets(1,2,3). And each sheet has 9 Columns (A,B,..,I). Now for the first sheet i have a functioning mask (userform) through which i can edit the columns live and add new rows.
Now i have a userform which is devided into three parts. The third and the last part is working fine which is linked to Sheet 1. Now i want the first part(on the top) of the form to be linked to Sheet 2 and the midpart to sheet 3.
In first and second part of the userform there is button (copy this to sheet 1 as new). This button should be coded in a way that if its clicked then the active entry (in sheet 2 or in Sheet 3) should be pasted at the end of the sheet 1 rows and the textboxes linked to sheet 1 should jump therer so that the new entry can be edited directrly in sheet 1.
The mask can be opened by the button in Sheet1 column A1! I am using 1280x1024 pixels for my grafikcard.
I am attaching two files. Excel file 2003 xls in zipped form and an image of the mask as jpg.

I need to hide columns in a spreadsheet without using the hide/unhide columns option. I found an article which suggested setting up a combobox from the forms toolbar, this is populated by an input range and linked to a cell for a numeric value. The article although using a macro to hide rows suggested this code

I want to amend this code so that when the number in my linked cell changes the various columns are hidden.
For example if the cell link number = 1 hide columns e to az if the cell link number = 2 hide columns d and f to az etc.
I have had varying success with amending this code to entirecolumn.Hidden and changing the Combobox1. to dropdown1. but am unable to get it to work, I also stupidly deleted the code that was partially working and am now unable to remember what I'd done.

I have a workbook that I am trying to get easier to work with, I have sheet 1 that my product codes,cost,mark up % and amount sold etc. and I have sheet 2 that has suppliers order No's, Cust name/email etc. and the At the moment in my example I manually hyperlink AE2 in sheet 1 to A2 in sheet 2 - and I manually copy cells P2 & Q2 in sheet 1 and paste link into E2 & F3 sheet 2.
I want cells E2 & F3 in sheet 2 to automatically link to their corresponding cells in sheet 1 P2 & Q2

I have a sheet with a bunch of company information, Name, address, phone, email, etc.
On another sheet I link back to this sheet with =DATA!A1 and copy down.
Although the cell that has the email address on the DATA sheet is a working link to open Outlook, it does not give me that link when brought to the second sheet.
Is there a formating tip or something else that will do the trick. I have looked though searches and all I could find is creating Hyperlinks. I don't think that is my answer because on my Second sheet I will be coping from a different set of cells the next time I use this workbook.

Is it possible to link a sheetname?
I have a list of employees on sheet1 and each employee has there own sheet with their name as the sheet name. Each sheet contains a form that the employees need to fill in.
I have created several extra sheets for new employees and I would like these sheet names to be linked to a cell on sheet1. This way the only updating I need to do when receiving new employees is enter there name to the list in sheet1.

I'm trying to write some code that links to certain sheets if certain cells are clicked. My sheets are named "01", "02", "03", ... , "20", ... "XX". I'm hoping I can use some loops to reference the names of the sheets since they are in a number format, but "j", which is how I tried to link cell rows with a corresponding sheet, in the code below doesn't cooperate. fix this or can you simply not reference sheet names this way?

once I get the pretty boxes and such, how do I link this form to a sheet to record data? How do I get it to run? I have tried searching the forum, but it seems that most of you already know that part and don't have any problems there.
I know this is probably very very basic and I will smack my face with my hand when you point it out. I just have never created forms with Excel before. I am used to using SalesLogix and when I create forms there, I have a database table that I can link each field to, so I keep looking for how to link to the table and I can't figure it out.

I am trying to create a sheet with 'buttons' on, a bit like a 'linked table of contents', that will take the user to individual sheets (as opposed to clicking on the sheet tabs). I have 4 sheets from sheet1 to sheet3, I typed code date and quantity which the code has 5 columns. In sheet 4 I have defined dropdown in I2 Cell(yellow fill) which has all code fromsheet1 to sheet3. I was trying to break a external reference link (from Data File) from Data _ Edit Link, but it is converting all the formula to value. How is it possible to break only the external link without damaging the formula within the sheet say c1 = A1+B1+26 (value from data file c1)

I need to create a Macro that will link Horizontal data to vertical data in a separate sheet. Here's the Example:
I have data in a forecast spreadsheet that is horizontal, So, J2:U2 (12 columns for 12 months). This row of data needs to be linked in a single column of data on a separate sheet called "Price_Quantity". So I need C3:C14 (in price_quantity sheet) to be linked to the data in J2:U2 (in forecast sheet). Then C15:C26 needs to be linked to J3:U3, so on and so forth. 12 rows linking to 12 columns. All the way until C4959:C4970 is linked to J415:U415.

I'm trying to make a floor plan which shows what seats are available depending on the time it is. So I made sheet1 = to the map (where the seats are located), sheet2 - rows = seat #'s, columns = Time (broken down by half hours). Now i have conditional format to show "t" in red (which means taken), "f" in blue (which means free), and "n" to show in gray (which means not working).
What i need is example - Seat # 200 in sheet 1 to show red, blue, or gray depending on the value in the row that corespond to this seat and the column that corespond to the current time.

I have two worksheets, one with detail monthly information and one with YTD information. So let's say the three numbers I want to capture in the YTD sheet are in columns B, G and I on the monthly sheet. January's data might be in B5, G5 and I5. February's data is in B12, G12 and I12 and so on.
On the YTD sheet in cell C2 I link to Monthly!B5 and in C3 I link to Monthly!B12 so cells C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet show the monthly totals from column B on the detail sheet. On the YTD sheet, cells C20 to C31 show the monthly totals from column G on the monthly sheet, so cells G5, G12, etc. And finally, cells C40 to C51 on the YTD sheet show monthly totals form column I on the monthly sheet.
In the past I've always created all these links manually. After creating the links in C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet, is there a way to use a formula in C21 that uses the link in C2 to create a link for G5?

Sheet 1 contains a column titled "name" and 6 columns to the right of name titled "sat", "sun", "mon"........ the col titled name is not the first col in the work sheet.
In each row I enter the guest name under the name col and I enter a room number (example: 1A, 1B, 2A, etc...) in the column to the right that coresponds with the day the guest will be staying.

I tried this formula =IF('Sheet1'!G:G="1A",'Sheet1!$F:$F,"Available")
It seems to work on the first row but I have problems with any rows below that. Basically it acts like there is no data in the rows below.... I think the fact that the names on sheet 1 are not alphabetical is creating part of my problem? I tried a lookup formula but it seems like it has to be the first column in the worksheet and it has to be alphabetical to work like that.

I have 2 workbooks in Excel 2010, each contain just 1 sheet. (see attached) I need to compare on sheet 1, cell D1 and column A:A (this column will be much longer), with the data in columns C:C & A:A on sheet 2, if a corresponding match is found, the data contained in column D on the same row on sheet 2 is written to the cell with the matching data in sheet 1.
My attempt is in cell D2 on sheet1.
