i have a invoice number column and date column and profit column for each job that they do. they may do several jobs in one day. what i want to know is how much they make total for the week. so in a separate column i want a weekending "such and such date" profit total
then i can have this for each person then i can just add up each persons week ending column to see how much i have made for this week. but i only what it to add up the numbers in a set range of dates.
for instance in the week ending 9/4/09 column it should only add profits that go from dates aug 30 to sept 4. and in weekending column 9/11/09 it should only add up profits corresponding to dates between 9/7/09 and 9/11/09
I was wondering if this can be done we have a monthly award program so if a date was entered for that drive on this month it would = no if blank =yes but needs to reset each month?
=IF(AND('Driver'!A51:A1000)="",IF('Driver'!A51:A1000>='Driver Bonus'!A3,"YES","NO")) This brings back a #value! error
=IF(AND('Driver'!A51<=A3,'Driver'!A51>=A3),"NO","YES") this works but only for that cell i need to also recognize cells A51:A1000
=IF(MAX(INDIRECT("'"&A8&"'!A51:A1000"))<A3+1,IF(MAX(INDIRECT("'"&A8&"'!A51:A1000"))<>A3,"YES","NO")) this also works but only for 1 day
I have different dates in column A, let's say:
10/26/12
11/1/12
11/15/12
2/12/13
I want to say that if the date is <= 12/31/12, put "LEASED IN 12", othwerwise put "LEASED IN 13".
My formula:
=IF($A1<="12/31/12",'LEASED IN 12","LEASED IN 13")
I get only 'LEASED IN 12".
I have data, which has an oil well that has had sections of its pipe perforated.
This has all happened on different days throughout the wells life.
I need an equation that says TRUE if the Perforation is the Most Recent for that well.
But I also need it to say True at different Top and Bottom Depth intervals throughout a specific well.
(for example: the last row in this data. Says TRUE even though there are more recent dates in this well.
This needs to say true because this is the most recent perforation in the top and bottom depth interval 9526 to 9536.
The other most recent perforations happened in shallower intervals, ie. 9456 to 9480.
So I need something in the equation that will say true to the most recent start date, if that top and bottom depth interval has not already been selected as true.
I need to have a column that says True IF the start date is the newest (most recent) for each individual well.
Easy enough.. But. I also need this to say True multiple times at different dates for each well.
For example below. it says true on 7/22/2001 three times and then True again on the last row on 10/14/1992.
It has to say true there because this is the most recent perforation that Top_Depth and Bottom_Depth interval.

I'm trying to determine if one date meets the criteria to be considered 'on time'. I have two columns: estimated completion date and completion date. I want to compare the completion date to the estimated completion date and if completion date is <= completion date but is NOT = 1/1/2099 then I met my date. I've tried this several different ways and problem is I cannot make it work.
When estimated completion date is 1/1/2099 'on time' should be 'no'
When estimated completion date is not 1/1/2099 but is greater than completion date 'on time' should be 'no'
When completion date is <= estimated completion date and estimated completion date is not equal to 1/1/2099 'on time' should be 'yes'
And I have a null date to deal with also but if I can satisfy the first 3 criteria I can manipulate the null values manually.
I am trying to generate a RAG status on an action log. Column K is the start date, Column L is the due/delivery date. I need a formula to bring through the following (i'll use conditional formatting to change "G" to green etc) -
show "R" if past due/delivery date
show "A" if past start date but before delivery date
show "G" if not past start date yet
This is probably really simple, but I've been trying various IF/AND statements and can get the "G" to work but not the rest for some reason. I think i may be using 'TODAY' incorrectly in my formula.
I'm trying to write code so that it uses an offset value depending on criteria. In the attached book I have three coloumns, firstly the date, secondly some letters, an If statement in the third coloumn and another IF statements in the fourth coloumn. I would like a macro that calculates the number of DAYS ONLY, depending on the fourth coloumn. The way it should operate is it should is detect a 1 in the D coloumn and then calculate the difference in days from the adjacent date in coloumn A and subtract from the first time it appears in coloumn A.
For instance in the worksheet, the first 1 in coloumn D is in 'D5'. The date in 'A5' is 04/01/2005. The first time a '1' appears in coloumn C is C2 and its date in 'A2' is 01/01/2005, so 04/01/2005-01/01/2005 is 3 days. Now heres the twist, the next 1 in the D coloumn is in 'D8' and hence the date in A8 is 07/01/2005, now this time the '1' in coloumn C is in 'C7' and hence the new calculation is 07/01/2005-06/01/2005. So hence the 1 in coloumn C is always changing (ie new offset value).
I have Column A with chronological dates. Some of them will be the same. If the dates are the same then the lowest row of those dates would need to add all the corresponding values in column D and print the total to column E
eg.
A1 through A3 = 2/12/2009
D1 through D3 would need to be added
E3 would display total for =d1:d3
it would then do this for each of the dates that match in Column A
I need creating a formula that combines the following if statements in cell C107:
=IF(AND(B107
I am using the following formula to calculate due dates based on the rank i assign an issue.
Note: a similar formula is used for the due date of section one, but if it is not complete, i do not want this formula to kick in a determine the due date for section 2. The formula itself is working fine, but is giving a 'due date' of 1/30/1900. I was wondering if there is a way to not display anything if it has no number to calculate from.
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("S",D11)),F11+30,IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("B",D11)),F11+30,
IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("A",D11)),F11+30,IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("QNM",D11)),F11+30,""))))
I have a workbook with 2 sheets I want to make an autofilter by two method :
- select case statement
- two dates
I have dates in column A (Source Dates) and Column C (Target Dates). All data is formatted as Dates. I want to find which dates in column A have a matching date in column C. When using the find statement within a For Each loop I can not find a date match unless I format the target dates as General. How can I use the Find Statement using dates without formating the target dates as General?
Option Explicit
Dim SourceDate As Range
Dim TargetDate As Range
Sub FindTargetDate()
Columns("C:C").Select
Selection.NumberFormat = "General"
For Each SourceDate In Range("A1:A32")
'MsgBox SourceDate
Set TargetDate = Sheet1.Range("C1:C7").Find(SourceDate, LookIn:=xlValues)
I am currently using an Intersect statement in a worksheet module to perform two things:
1. Insert a time stamp into row 2 when row 1 has a price inserted
2.To clear that time stamp if the price is deleted at some later date.
My problem is with the time stamp value being deleted by the user.
If I try to clear the price (now that the time cell =empty) I get a Runtime error 91 - Object Variable or With block variable not set.
I would like to convert this code to a select case statement but I'm not sure how to do this in this situation. Would error coding be appropriate in this instance?
I'm trying to set up an if statement that will recognize that if a cell is FHR it will do something...but if it's PHR it will do something else. I think I found the place where I keep getting an error but I'm not sure how to go about fixing the issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to use a previously Set variable as part of the next Set statement, pretty unsuccessfully at present.
My purpose is trying to look up
Code:
tb_SelJobID.Value
from a userform in Col Z then look across the row to Cols D,I,N,S & W (different types of work) to see if
Code:
TbSelYr.Value
matches the year selected then insert a formula in the row to the left. Then loop down to the FinalRow.
Currently my Set Found1 statement does not recognise my Found10 value. I know it will be my syntax as it always is. I have cut down the following code to display where the problem areas are, Found1 thru 5.

I have an Excel Sheet which I use as Database. The database has 11 columns and I insert data with the following function:
Code:
Sub testInsert()
Dim adoCommand As New ADODB.Command
Dim sQuery As String
Dim i As Integer
Dim strTest As String
strTest = "test"
[Code] .......
Now I want to retrieve this data. i.e. I want all F1 where F2 and F3 are 0 AND I want them ordered descending. I'm trying to achieve this with:
Code:
Sub testSelect()
Dim adoCommand As New ADODB.Command
Dim sQuery As String
Dim mrs As New ADODB.Recordset
Dim strTest As String
strTest = "test"
[Code] ....
The result I am getting looks like this:

6
5
4
3
2
15
14
13
12

I assume, that the data is interpreted as String instead of an integer. But I explicitely stated the data as Integer when storing the data into the DB.
I have created a very long switch statement, which is too long to be placed in one row in VBA. I have attempted to put a space and underscore at the end of one line and continue the statement on the row below by placing a comma at the start of the second line. VBA will accept my efforts, but when I run the statement in the immediate window, the following error appears.
"Invalid procedure call or argument"
I understand that there are certain rules where I can split a switch statement onto two lines, yet I do not know what they may be.
I am looking to have one formula containing two If Statements that minus.
=IF(B6="investment",C6,0)-IF(B7="gross",C6,0)
So the result of If Statement 1 minus the result of If Statement 2.
What I am seeing at the moment in the cell is FALSE and what I want to see is the sum.
If A1 shows 10:00am and A2 shows 4:00pm, then A3 calculates the total number of hours: =(A2-A1)*24
But if A1 shows "Off," then A3 shows 0: =IF(A1="Off",0,(A2-A1)*24)
Now, if I want to change "(A2-A1)*24" to another if-statement, how do I do this? I can always set up a hidden cell (A4) that contains the results of the first if-statement, and then say: =IF(A1="Off",0,A4). But can I do this without going through all the trouble of setting up hidden cells?
Each row represents a call. If a call in column A equals "CW" and it has the highest duration (H:MM:SS) value in column B, then provide me the date (MM/DD/YYYY) for that call that is stated in column C.
i.e.
Column A --- Column B ---- Column C
AB ------------ 0:02:22 ----- 04/14/2007
CW ----------- 0:03:13 ----- 04/16/2007
CW ----------- 0:01:42 ----- 04/13/2007
Thus, the value that should be returned is "04/16/2007".
I have a problem with a formula inserted with control+shift+enter
The formula is
MEAN(IF(' VALIDATION'!$G$2:$G$59999=D30;'VALIDATION'!$E$2:$E$59999))
In the Validation sheet I have the column G with values 0 and 1, and another column E with numeric values.
Changing the value of cell D30, the formula will calculate the mean of the values in column E that have a value equal to D30 in column G.
The problem is that this function works when D30=1 and not when d30=0, in this case the formula returns N/D.
I have tried using also text values instead of 1 and the formula works . The problem is only when D30 is 0

I have a sheet with a date and the number of months on it which will change. I need the sheet to list the dates in a column for each month automatically: e.g. Two cells contain date “jan07” and the period “10” months. The rows A1 to A10 should have jan07…jan16 listed automatically. If I change then change the number of month to 11 I would like the rows A1 to A11 to update automatically.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a simple chart, which maps the value of an investment fund over time. I wanted to use the new 'Table' feature within Excel 2010 to format and maintain the formulae within the Table, and the 'Header' for the table contains the date, which is not at regular intervals.
If I opt not to use the Table feature, I can create a line-chart with ease, and Excel recognises that the Dates are indeed dates and plots the graph correctly. The minute I convert over to a Table, the Date headers are no longer recognised as dates, and are instead plotted as if they were text, at regular intervals.
I've tried multiplying the Date Headers by 1 to force them back to true Dates, but this still does not work. I've also changed the setting on the horizontal axis to Date axis rather than automatic, but still no joy.
look at the attached file - it was a CSV file. i want to convert the column of dates to say Mar 14 2009 type date. but it only converts some of them.
note some are on the left and some on the right.
I am in strange situation where I have a data with Invoice Dates. These dates are in Text. However, when I convert it into reall excel dates. For some reason the dates do not come right. convert my text dates into excel real dates. I did a lot of google search and apply these three methods but all of these gave me strange result I was not expecting. These are the methods I used and the result of each method.
Method 1 : Using Text to Column Wizard (Excel 2007)
I highlighted invoice column and went into text to column wizard. I clikced on Date button, and selected MDY format. Strangely enough, my result was day, month and year i.e. DMY which does not seem right.
Then I press Control ~ on this data as shown in second view.

2nd Method - Using formula to convert text date to real dates When I used formula, I get the following result. As you can see, formula is converting text dates into different system dates than the first method.Further strange things is when I take these system dates i.e. 4283 and in 2007 excel format use "Short Date" the same system date gets converted into wrong year as shown in the second view.

Similarly, I tried other methods or copying blanks etch but none seems to convert text dates into real (system dates).
Here is my set up:
A2 to BF2 is a range of dates
A3 to BF3 are sales. Days without sales are 0.00
I want to pick a range of dates and find the number of days without sales between those dates. So, a formula that will look to a start date in A1 and an end date in B2, and then count the number of days that did not have sales between. Index/Match/Countif/Dateif I can't seem to make anything work.
Hi Guys, This has been bugging me for a bit now and I just can't sus it...
I have a sample perpetual calender that I have been modifying to fit my own purpose. The calender part works fine.
I have beside that a column for holidays, etc and then a another column for other events.
When I put the date in the holiday or events columns I would like the date to be highlighted in the calender above (different colour depending on which column it came from).
The formula I have been playing with (no success) is:
=MATCH(DATE($R$2,1,C8),$I$41:$I$65,0) - This is the Formula for the 1st column of dates.
The 2nd formula is similar, just changes the column it tries to draw the MATCH(DATE.... from...
Although this formula works fine on the sample spreadsheet. When I enter the formula on my sheet, it doesn't seem to work...
I have attached the spread sheet that I am working on.
there are a multitude of issues with US date formats when you're not in the US but I've run across one that I can't figure out.
I have a source table that has approx 5000 lines on it, everything looks correct and all the dates are in the correct (Australian) format. However when I use it to make a pivot table, any dates that are before the 12/m/yyyy gets changed to the mmddyyyy format in the pivot table only, all the source dates are still correct.
