I'm currently working on a test matrix that has high level and mid level test cases. The High level results cell is tracking all mid level test cases below it. If all mid level test cases are displayed as "Pass" then the High level test cases displays "PASS". If any of the mid level test cases is not displayed as "PASS" then the High level test case result is displayed as "FAIL" However, "PASS" and "FAIL" do not accurately represent the status of the test cases in the instance of them not being filled out. Mid Level test cases start off in the "Select Result" state which basically says it that test has not been performed. I would like to have a third value displayed as "NOT COMPLETED" or "IN PROGRESS". Below is the current formula that I am using.

On thing to keep in mind that may or may not make a difference is that one of the High level test cases has 30 mid level test cases and from my understanding, IF / AND function only allows up to 30 logic inputs (not sure if that is the correct terminology or correct at all).

I am trying to write a function that will display the first Monday of the year based on the user entry.
For example, if I enter;
5/1/2011, It should produce 1/3/2011...

What the macro does is it inputs a timestamp every time a keyboard combination is used (alt+right arrow in this case).

I tried playing around with the timestamp format (changing it to = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS.00" or = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS.0;@")) or = Format(Now, "MM:SS.000") and I tried using = Evaluate("=NOW()") instead of = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS".
I am running excel 2003 and I am looking for a function that will display the filename or part of the file name in a cell. I know you can do this as part of a header or footer but is there anyway to have an individual cell display the file name of the document?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to display the result of a custom VBA function as a label on a userform. The function is called and takes arguments from three text boxes on the userform. I attached it to the exit parameter. (This may be part of the problem; I'm not sure).
There seem to be two problems, first all the text boxes don't always contain data, but because the arguments are not optional, I get a type mismatch error when the code runs (I tried switching some of them to optional, but it didn't help as you can see from my 'commented code).
The other problem is that even when all the arguments seem to be met (i.e. the text boxes all have data), I still get a compile error that the argument is not optional. This only happens if I try and pass the result to some aspect of the userform. As you can see from the last coded line in the custom function, if I assign it to a range on the worksheet, it functions fine.

I am creating a box CBM optimizing tool at work for shipping our products internationally so that the sales department and logistics can estimate shipping costs and weights with out needing me to physically pack everything in advance. I have broken every product we sell into individual CBM's as well as the boxes that we use to ship. I have also set it up to give a break down of "boxes needed" to accommodate the approximated CBM by box size.
How to create a function that will take that info and calculate which combination of boxes will utilize the available space... In other words, how do i take my break down of the 6 box sizes available, with the "# of boxes needed" data i already have, and have it tell me which combination of boxes will utilize the maximum percentage of space, or leave the least amount of unused space based off of the cumulative CBM being shipped.

How can i do this. I used text function like this

But it displays "Rs. 3545852.00 Cr."

Im currently studying for an ICT A level and im in my first year doing AS. Im working the AQA board and i have a project that i have a target for an A! I need to create a system for a business and write a report on everything i did...wont go into detail. Anyway. i am having trouble with an IF FUNCTION!!! I have a cell (E35) that contains a percentage.
I want the IF function to display a message depending on what the percentage in cell E35 shows;
IF, 0>> Display "Bad"
40>> Display "OK"
70>> "Good"
90>> Display "Very Good"
E35>=100 >>>> Display "Excellent"
I have tried so many things and I was so sure i entered it correctly, but it keeps coming up with an error.
The following are on a sheet:
A1 = 5700
B1 = 235
C1 = 17:14
D1 = 5922
$E$1 = 09:01
$F$1= 3
$E$1 and $F$1 are (the only) absolutes/constants.
A2 contains the following:
=IF(A1>D1,B1,IF(A1+B1<D1,"d",IF(AND(C1<$E$1,B1<$F$1),"",B1))))
This translates as:
=IF(5700>5922,235,IF(5700+235<5922,"d",IF(AND(7:14<09:01,235<3),"",235))))
The result is a variable/number (235), "d" or a blank cell ("").
This formula is in a column and works fine where there are numbers in corresponding cells. The problem arises with corresponding cells which appear blank (show no values) but contain references to other cells: they result in a "d" when nothing should be displayed.
So while a corresponding blank cell is correct if it shows no values, it gives me this problem - I don't want "d" or anything.
Userform1 on the attached file has a "Calendar" button to display a calendar that allows the user to select a date and have it placed in the Date Text Box. It simply doesn't work unless you click on the userform area where the calendar should appear - but how would the user know that?

Then he had Conditional Formatting that would highlight the range that was being summed. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have four cells c1 thru c4. The SUM of these cells must equal 1. I want to display an error message "sum of cells not equal to 1.0" but only when data has been entered in all four cells.
For instance =SUM(C1:C4, "<>1") should display the error message. Is there a way to write the formula with an IF statement and still use data validation with error message box?
Assumptions:
-Will ignore blanks
-Error message "Sum of cells are not equal to 1.0" until values in all four cells have been entered, not after a value is entered in a cell. (validate expression after all four cells have values or blank)
Scenarios:
c1 = .25, c2 is blank, c3 = .25, c4 = .50 TRUE no error message should displays
c1 = .25, c2 = .25, c3 = .25, c4 = .50 TRUE no error message should displays
c1 = .25, c2 = .30, c3 = .25, c4 = .50 FALSE error message should display after value is entered in c4
etc
What I don't want is for the error message box to display after .25 is entered in c1 because the user is still in the process of adding values. Can this be done using Data Validation in Excel 2010?

I'm trying to figure out a way of showing a price range on lots of different products. My spreadsheet is set out as follows(sorted by price ascending):
column A Column B
Product1 $1.99
Product1 $2.43
Product1 $3.01
Product2 $21.01
Product2 $23.98
I want to be able to summarise the product 1 price range as $1.99-$3.01 and product 2 as £21.01-$23.98. Is it possible somehow to concatenate the price from the first and last occurence of each product in column A?
I have about 20 named ranges, and I have a formula that spits out the name of the range I would like to be displayed. So, for instance, in cell A1, it says "Red1" (the words are created by a formula though). I want the data to change to the new data if A1 changes to say "Red2". The problem is that when I refer to the contents of cell A1, it will not use the contents as the named range. This was a little difficult to word so if you don't understand what I am saying just ask.

{=SUMIFS(range to sum, range to evaluate, evaluation criterion)}
The range to sum is A1:A10, the range (dates) to evaluate are in B1:B10, and the evaluation criterion is that the date is before 31/10/1999.
So my formula looks like this:
{=SUMIFS(A1:A10,B1:B10,”<31/10/1999”)}
This works fine, but how do I refer the 3rd argument in the function to a date in a particular cell rather than typing in the date specifically?
