I am trying to write a formula, I have 6 sets of criteria with a lower and higher range, if the number falls within the criteria I would like it to return the Alpha number,

I have an Excel file that quiries Google for driving distance (someone helped me with this.) It returns the correct miles but has some 'extra' characters. Example:
31.1&nb or 886&nbs
So the answer always has &nbs after the mileage. I tried the following function which works when there is a decimal but fails when there is not. =REPLACE(MID(E2,1,SEARCH("&",E2,1)-1),SEARCH(".",E2,1),1,","). Can this be done with a function or must it be VB script? Which is fine if it is.
I have a produced an Excel workbook which uses a VBA sign in/out userform.
Once you sign in on the Userform the sheets update. A list is completed of the times people enter and leave.
To make the code easier I currently have the name being returned to the excel sheet and performing a “match” function to return the row number. This row number is then used to carry out what I need to happen in this row. However, as you can see from attached doc (and the brief example below), based on IDnumber "2", the match function returns row 5 not row 8.
I need to have the row number returned for the IDnumber where the Out cell is blank.
This should be the last occurrance of the IDnumber

I have the following two rows that I'm looking to return a single column number that maxes two criteria. In the example, 70, 30 would return column 7. I'm not looking to create a dummy row the combines the two. Reason for using MATCH or HLOOKUP is that the two values may not be the values in the given table.

The selection of the number to be printed in column N (under Matrix Assignment) depends on the range it is next to in array A4:C15. I have about 255,000 rows of data on the worksheet "Filtered". Column B contains my Item Number and Column D contains the supply source. I want to find the row where ItemNumber and SupplySource match my variables and then return the value from Column C.

I want to extract the page numbers (the final numbers) and place them into a new, separate column.
I am using Microsoft Excel X for Max Service Release 1.
I am competent on basic excel but not familiar with complicated formula etc.
My spreadsheet contains a tasklist. It is generally sorted by priority (number); each row also contains a task ID ("T0100"). When I add a new task I need to know the last used task ID so I can assign the next one.
I've tried various built in functions but each expects numbers.
How can I insert in a cell (or display in a msgbox) the maximum text value?

Items in Column A1 are calculated by (B2/4+5)*1.4 Items located under the columns 2000, 3000, 4000, etc... 10,000 are calculated by taking the top number, eg 2000/(A1 cell value)+the column B number. 2000/7+0 = 286 (rounded numbers)

How to create a formula in cell M2 that looks at the second row of numbers (0 and 500s) and tells me the rightmost value that is greater than zero. In this example it would return 12.
Second Question: Is there a way to return any counted value, for example the second-to-last number that is over 0?
I need this for a tracking sheet of scores. For example, 1 gets 100 points, 2 gets 90 points, 3 gets 80 points, etc. I need to set it up for 10 places. I have no idea and have fiddled with it for two hours now. I need to be able to put a 1 in the cell and 100 appears after I hit enter, etc.

For each "Date", I need to scan the table and find which "Start Date" and "End Date" range does it fall into and return the applicable "Year". For example:

The issue I am having is that the value isn't an exact match so it is returning line 3 with a value of 315 rather than line 1 and a value of 313. What am I doing wrong?
I am looking for a formula that will enable me to determine which one out of five thresholds a percentage falls within and the retuns a specific value for the corresponding threshold. Here is an example of the data (only showing three thresholds):

I can do this using multiple 'if' statements, but am looking for a much more streamlined way to determine the proper value in column C.
I have a custom range -55% to 55% as part of a grading system for sales growth. I want to return a 0-100% grade depending on where within that -55% to 55% range a sales reps growth for a month falls. This works great if there is a negative number (e.g. a -5, rather than 5 shown above), but when the numbers are all positive, the result is "0", I want 5 or the next greater number above zero.
I am trying to create a macro and I need it to return the row # based on a vlookup of a date and not 100% sure how to do that.. Hoping to get a little assistance.
I am looking up a date in column A, and need it to return the row #, then I can do the rest of the macro I need. The date I need to look up varies, and is based on the following function I have in a cell elsewhere, but if there is an easier way in vba to write i'm open:
=IF(WEEKDAY(TODAY())=2,TODAY()-3,TODAY()-1)
which basically says if it's monday lookup the date from 3 days ago (friday), otherwise look up yesterday's date. So today it returns 6/8/09 and I need to find the row that has 6/8/09 as the value in column A.
Now the dates in column a, are all formulas that say previous row's date + 1, so the only row that has the actual date in it is the very first one, then we just add a day. Not sure if that matters, but figured I'd give all info.
