HLookup Find Minimum Number In Row Then Return Left Most Number?

Mar 1, 2012

Items in Column A1 are calculated by (B2/4+5)*1.4 Items located under the columns 2000, 3000, 4000, etc... 10,000 are calculated by taking the top number, eg 2000/(A1 cell value)+the column B number. 2000/7+0 = 286 (rounded numbers)

I need to find an way to look up for x number (2000,3000,4000, etc...) find the smallest number in that column and then return the value in column A1.

Cell
A1 Number >2000300040005000600070008000900010000
70 2864295717148571000114312861429
84 24236148059971883795610751194

Above formula, in cell E8 is the number 3, however excel does not recognise this and returns 1. is there a way i can get E8 to see that it is a 3 in that cell and return the correct number of rows downwards in my table?

So i need a way to find the minimum number in a given set of numbers without there being multiple minimums. For example if you had 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 the minimum would be 1. If however you had 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5....i want excel to recognize there are multiple minimums (two 1's) and produce a warning (i realize this probably needs to be coupled with an if statement).

Im trying to pull together a formula to achieve the below. What i have is a spreadsheet to be used by staff in different countries so im looking to make it easy to modify the categories used without the user needing to do anything complex with formulas.

The right hand side of my file (C:E) shows a code for each year we have covered a country with the year as a prefix (2014 - Blah). The left (A:B) is a summary showing the latest year we covered that country.

Current formula: {=IF(COUNTA(C2:D2)<=0,"","✔-"&MAX(LEFT(C2:D2&"0",4)*1))}

The current formula works fine if you set the columns to where the data actually is but for ease of use i need it to look at the data in rows 1:2 and match up the Continent/Country and then MAX the dates.

I am working with data where I need to extract a 10-digit number from a string. Where the 10-digit number is in the string varies, so I can't use a simple left/len combination. Here's an example below:

Something and email@me.com 1234567890 stuff thingsThe formula I am using now is this:

This finds the first number in a string and returns that number and the next 9 digits for a total of a 10-digit string (so it would return 1234567890). However, I run into an issue when I have a string that has numbers in the email address.

So this:

number in email123@me.com 1234567890 exampleWould return this:

123@me.comIs there a way to modify the formula above so that it searches for 10 consecutive numbers and not just the first number in a string?

I have a worksheet with about 20 columns of info. First of which is a primary key. Call it "Job Number." I would like to create a macro that runs down the list of primary keys searching for a specific Job Number I ask for in the new worksheet, in A1. It then copies and pastes the entire row where it found that job number into the new worksheet starting at row 6.

i got worksheet which i store a list of all filing number in the same Col "R"

The combination of Filing Number Example

1) Invoice Filing Number = Inv2014070001 and continual 2) Purchase Order Filing Number = POD2014070001 and continual 3) Sublet Filing Number = SLT2014070001 and continual

Currently i am using a code which it can find the last filing number return to my userform textbox and increase the last number by 1. but this code can only return the very last filing number.

i need to find all the missing filing number in between all the filing number in Col R and return it to my userform listbox

VB:

If me.Remark.Value = "Sales" Then A = "Inv" If me.Remark.Value = "Purchase" Then A = "POD" If me.Remark.Value = "Sublet" Then A = "SLT" Y = Me.TransYear.Value myName = UCase(A & Y)

I'm writing a macro that will import data from one workbook to another, based on yesterdays date. I have the import functionality working, and I've been playing all afternoon, but I can't find a way to find yesterdays date in a range and use that row number as the row offset value in this line:

Rather than having a set row offset value (in this case, 14) I would like to use the find function to lookup yesterdays date in range "B50:B80" in the worksheet I've designated as "sh1" and return the row number of the cell that has yesterdays date and use this value as the row offset value, replacing the hard coded 14 that is in there currently. The date values in the range are formatted as per Date Format.jpg.

I have more than 1000000 coordinates with heights to sort through. The aim is to be able to give a specific radius and check all coordinates within this radius if the slope is more than a maximum slope. If this is the case it need to put the value (in this case) 100 in a new column. The reason for this is we have a reasonable flat terrain but the entire area is filled with Anthills. I need to sort the data. Normal ground points (No Anthills) should be labelled/coded as 200 and anthills as 100. This will allow my program to know the difference between the ground and anthills. In the tab "Input Sheet" I have a small portion of co-ordinates starting from row 8 to row 53 (this will have to extend all the way down to the last row in excel). I need to copy each row starting with row 8 (C8:E8) and paste it in row 2 (C2:E2). Column H indicates if the points are forming an anthill and the code needs to change. I have my final answer in the tab "Final Answer" that I require for my program. Is there any way I can write a VBA code that will check all the point instead of doing it manually.

I am trying to create a formula for a work report and I am afraid I am a bit of a novice with the more complex formulas. Here is what I am trying to do: Sheet 1 has Sales order numbers that duplicate based on the sales lines. Sheet 2 has single lines of sales order numbers and their assigned PO number. I would like to have Sheet 3 where it combines all data and duplicates and fills in the PO number to match all of the sales order numbers that repeat on the other sheet. I hope this makes sense. I can't seem to figure out if I need a VLookup or If or Match formula (or all of the above).

i'm trying to use HLookup to find an adjusted midterm grade that's given. but i have some conditions:

If student missed exam and has a zero – keep zero. If student has a grade of 1-119 points, increase their grade 40 points. If student has a grade of 120-125 points, increase their grade 35 points. If student has a grade of 126-131 points, increase their grade 31 points. If student has a grade of 132-139 points, increase their grade 27 points.

with these conditions, if my midterms grade is 120, how would i calculate it using HLookup? i worked on it but i keep getting the #NA! error. =H4+HLOOKUP(H4,B24:D25,2).

I have been given a spreadsheet to fix as the user says the charts/graphs aren't adding the new data.

But when I looked closer at the workbook the whole thing just seemed a little wrong to me

Please see the workbook attached.

All the data is entered into the sheet 'Data Entry'.

Then on the 'Data' sheet it should pull thru some key values but half of it isn't done and it isn't very smart.

I have created a 'TEST Data' sheet so I could start messing with it.

I was going to pull the data thru from 'Data Entry' into the 'TEST Data' sheet using a Hlookup to make sure it worked before i messd with the actual 'Data' sheet.

The problem I am having is moving/copying the Hlookup across.

On the 'TEST data' sheet the Hlookup is as follows and is correct:

=HLOOKUP($A$5,'Data Entry'!$C$4:$M$472,2,FALSE)

But the next set of (Week 2) is not in the 2nd or even 3rd row of the array, its in row 11......... thats 9 rows down from the original.

Moving on the data i want to bring back is always 9 more than the last so the Hlookups should look like:

spreadsheet 1: Lookup from Order numbers listed from A5:A177. requested formula in I5: I would like a lookup to sheet 2 based on the order number (F19:F191), to return the cell above the first non-blank value.

spreadsheet 2: Lookup value:Order number listed from F19:F191. Data search:AY19:CI191 return the (date) which is in the range above the data search from row AY18:CI18.

I've had a look at few forums but i'm getting mixed responses, having to use index / match / lookup / min / --.

I've created a userform that has one ComboBox (ComboBox1) and two text fields. I am trying to get the userform to return information to my worksheet in the same row as the name that is displayed in the ComboBox. This is my VBA code.

Private Sub Cmdpayment_Click() Dim iRow As Long Dim ws As Worksheet Set ws = Sheet4 iRow = Cells. Find(What:=Me.ComboBox1.Value, After:=C5, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt _ :=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:= _ False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate ws.Cells(iRow, 12).Value = Me.txtpdate.Value ws.Cells(iRow, 13).Value = Me.txtpayment.Value Me.txtpdate.Value = "" Me.txtpayment.Value = "" End Sub

I am doing a vlookup on a cell range where the value I'm trying to lookup (a date) exists, but it's not an actual number in the cell...it's a reference to another cell with that value (somewhere completely different).

So, I'm trying to vlookup(date(1/1/2011),A1:A12,2,false) to get the B column value.

A B 1/1/2011 # 2/1/2011 # ... 12/1/2011 #

However, the A column is not the actual date. It is a reference to another cell somewhere completely different that has the actual date 1/1/2011.

When I do a vlookup trying to find 1/1/2011, it can't see it there unless I overwrite the reference in A1 (for instance) with the actual date.

I am looking for a simple formula that would show a minimum number of '1' if the two cells that I am multiplying together are less than '1'.

Example would be the total gasoline for a round trip is $58.65 at .24 round trips. I want it to show a minimum of '1' round trip at the cost of $58.65 and not a fraction cost of $14.08.

I am entering this formula on an iPad's Numbers app (formulas are basically the same)

I am trying to write a formula, I have 6 sets of criteria with a lower and higher range, if the number falls within the criteria I would like it to return the Alpha number,

I'm trying to analyze the pricing we get from our shipping courier. Although the courier gives us incentive discounts, they also have a minimum charge that supersedes the discount. In other words, suppose the "Minimum charge" is set at $6.24. If the published "list rate" on a package is $10 but we get a 50% discount on all shipments, instead of paying $5, we pay $6.24. Basically, between the post-discount amount and the "minimum charge" we pay whichever is greater/higher.

Now, to the Excel part: I have cells with simple formulas applying our % discount to our carrier's published list rates to calculate the resulting price (i.e, where cell A1 contains published list shipping rate and cell B1 is our discount %, so in cell C1, I have a formula: =A1*B1). I would like know how, if the result of the formula in cell C1 is less than $6.24, that the cell could display $6.24 rather than the actual result?

I have a large amount of data and I'm trying to count how many unique values I have in one column. I also want to know how many times each duplicate appears. I tried using a pivot table but it's not working for me.

I also tried the following formula: =SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(H:H,H:H)>0,1)) but it's not quite working.

How to create a formula in cell M2 that looks at the second row of numbers (0 and 500s) and tells me the rightmost value that is greater than zero. In this example it would return 12.

Second Question: Is there a way to return any counted value, for example the second-to-last number that is over 0?

I need this for a tracking sheet of scores. For example, 1 gets 100 points, 2 gets 90 points, 3 gets 80 points, etc. I need to set it up for 10 places. I have no idea and have fiddled with it for two hours now. I need to be able to put a 1 in the cell and 100 appears after I hit enter, etc.

I have two columns of data with a minimum value in the first column and a maximum value in the second column. What I'm trying to get is an indicator in a third column which tells me if a whole number falls at or between the minimum and maximum values. Here is a sample of my data:

I have attached an example. If I have a set of numbers such as the one attached, is it possible to create a formula that will show me all the combinations of numbers that add up to 55.52? In the attached I have highlighted in different colours all the number combinations that add up to 55.52. The numbers highlighted in blue appear within more then one combination. Is there a formula that can do this for me, instead of randomly adding numbers hoping they add up to 55.52.

I need a VBA code to find the nearest biggest number and nearest lowest number between the data of D2 to H2. In the attached file, I have mentioned my required output (Column A and B - blue highlighted)
