I'm trying to create an excel worksheet as follows:
Column1 Column2 Column3 Column4 Column5 Date Time In Time Out Hours Worked Pay 01/03/2000 01/04/2000 01/05/2000 . . 11/11/2008
I want to insert in the first column (Column1) dates starting from 01/01/2000 all the way up to today, 11/11/2008. So I would end up with a unique date on each row. To accomplish this manually would be a daunting task. I'm a newbie to excel and don't know how to use any in-built functions.
how to make the data look like a table with three columns. Other than the date, it is space delimited. I have a tracking spreadsheet where Column A is populated with dates for the year. Column C contains daily values.
I don't always start entering daily values on the first day of the year, e.g., this year the first value in Column C corresponds to March 9. All values in Column C are contiguous - there are no blank cells until the value in Column A is greater than today's date code. I would like to use a formula (rather than VBA) to look down Column C and find the first non-blank entry where the value in Column A is less than or equal to today(). In this case, the formula should return the value for March 9, 2008.
CREATE TABLES LIKE BELOW?Column A Column B Column C
March 1, 2008Saturday March 2, 2008Sunday March 3, 2008Monday March 4, 2008Tuesday March 5, 2008Wednesday ...................
I have a dataset that i want to update, to do this I want to insert 8 rows after each row that has a value in Column C 2000. The set has 600,000 rows, comparing countries (cty, cty2) from 1980-2000. I want to make room for information up till 2008. I see lots of codes for doing this but I will also need help with actually inserting into my spread sheet.
In column A, i have multiple levels followed by a letter (i.e. Level 1A, Level 1B etc).
In column B, i have some other details and then so on and so forth.
In column C/E/G lets say, i want to copy the information from column A to show only items that appear as "Level 1" (not "Level 1A", i only want it to check for things without the letter at the end). Then the same in column E but with "Level 2" and so on and so forth.
I also have data in Column B that is to do with column A (i.e "Level 1A" - "Metals") and so on with the following columns. I want the items that are in column B to also move over to column D when the things from Column A move to Column C, so at the end it will appear as below so it appears as above.
If a1,a21,a41 have a value greater than 0, I wish to stamp cell b1,b21,b41 and so on with todays date, but without the stamped value changing/advancing tomorrow. At the moment cells b1,b21,b41 are copied down as follows. =if(a1>0,TODAY(),"") This works fine, but the date stamp of course changes tomorrow. I can not apply code to the whole b column as cells b2:b20, b22:40 etc have other non-date format data to which the code does not need to apply - the todays date value cell occurs every 20 cells.
I am working on a spreadsheet to create a school 'tracking' system based on excel. What I need is that as soon as a box in column B is ticked, a date (TODAY() is entered in column A. That is not so difficult, and I have used the formula in cells in column A:
=IF(ISBLANK(Bx);"";TODAY()), where x is the specific row.
So, keep cell A clear untill something is written in cell B. This works fine.
But, for the purpose I need to keep the TODAY() date fixed after entry. And it need to be erased again if the tickbox in cell B is emptied again. It need then to re-enter a new date after cell B is re-used.
I have a button and when I press it, it shows a tick so the user knows when it's been clicked I also want it to insert the date it was clicked but obviously if I use the =TODAY() formula it would change everyday. I need to keep it the same after each day.
Upon opening a spreadsheet, I would like a macro to highlight the cell which contains todays date. This will be selected from a range of dates which are already populated in column B. Is it possible to have a macro which can select the cell in column B which contains today's date? If possible, please could you include the code for doing this upon opening the spreadsheet. I'm not too confident about that either!
how I can create a formula that would highlight the cell in a colour if the date was past todays date? This is what I'm doing - I have the expiry date of people's insurances. so e.g todays date is 8 th January, so if the insurance had expired 31.12.08, i would want the cell to be highlighted red. I think it may be an IF function but I cant remember.
I need to VBA code that will loop through the active sheet for all rows, column C2 through however many rows there are. Col C contains a date in the format: mm/dd/yyyy. I need the VBA to compare this date to today's date+30 days and if the date in C2, etc. is greater than today's date + 30 days, shade the row a particular background color (e.g., 3).
I've been using the following code and would like to add another IF that checks the value of a cell to see if it holds today's date.
Code: If Range("E" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Value "Closed" Then If Range("E" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Value "Closed w/o Customer Confirm" Then 'Select SR in Sheet to update Range("B" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Select
I tried to modify it to...
Code: If Range("E" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Value "Closed" Then If Range("E" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Value "Closed w/o Customer Confirm" Then If Range("AK" & CStr(LSearchRow)).Value "=today()" Then 'Select SR in Sheet to update
I've tried a couple of other things but no success
Iíve been searching the forum but am struggling to find exactly the information I need!
Iím trying to get a column of cells to update with the date that the cells contents change to ďYĒ. I had been using the formula =IF(I7="Y",TODAY(),"-") in cell J7 but this updates the date every day. I need this date to remain the same as when itís first populated.
Iíve been trying to cut and paste text from existing posts into the Visual Basic code but am new to this so am not getting the results I need. I had tried:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range) 'will put date in column B when something is put in A If Target.Column = 9 Then Target.Offset(0, 1).Value = Date End If End Sub
But this caused all sorts of problems! I then tried messing around with:
Option Compare Text Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range) On Error GoTo enditall Application.EnableEvents = False If Target.Column = "I" Then If Target.Value = "Y" Then Excel.Range("J").Value = Date End If End If enditall: Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub
But this doesnít work either. In fact, both these codes are probably riddled with errors as Iíve been trying to learn by trial and error!
I have number in cell (A1) = 100. when I enter number in any cell of column(B) for example (B1)=10. then in cell (C1) the result of (A1) - (B1) = (90) and if I add in cell (B2)=10 then in cell (C1) the result of (A1) - (B1+B2) = 80 .accumulatively in cell (C1). and any number in column (B), the result will be (A1) minus any number in column(B) accumulated in (C1)
I have number in cell (A1) = 100. when I enter number at cell (B1) = 10 then the result would be in the adjacent cell (C1) = (A1) - ( B1) = 90 and If I enter a new number in cell (B2) = 10 then the result would be in the adjacent cell (C2) = (A1) - (B1+B2) = 80 and If I enter a new number in cell (B3) = 10 then the result would be in the adjacent cell (C3) = (A1) - (B1+B2+B3) = 70 and so on. I want the result to be add automatically to adjacent cell in column (C)
I'm trying to create a workbook which has dates in column B, starting with row 10. I'd like to have a code which will hide the rows if the date is less than today upon workbook open. This would need to apply to worksheet1 only.
