Link Cell To Picture Or Shape
It's difficult to explain, the attached shows the situation better. Basically there's a picture that is somehow linked to a cell. But, you can update the picture or the cell and the other one gets updated.

Fill Shape With Picture 2007
The following works perfect in 2003.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim shpTemp As Shape
Set shpTemp = Worksheets("Sheet3").Shapes(ListBox1.Value)
Set shpTemp = .Shapes(.Shapes.Count)
However, when run in excel 2007 the shape is not filled. If you right click the shape, format shape and click on the "Picture or texture fill" it will fill the shape with the previously selected picture in the userform. I have tried by adding
shpTemp.UserPicture.Fill.Visible = True....................
Create Excel Shape From MapInfo *OR* Make Picture Background Transparent?
I'm trying to make a map of 14 regions where each region changes brightness depending on values in the worksheets. I think I've got this bit sorted. I'm planning on creating the map using a collection of tessellated shapes or images, and using VBA to alter the properties of each one to create a dynamic map.
The output of the individual maps from MapInfo, our GIS software, is in .png or .jpg. format, and come with a white background. Is there any way to either make the background transparent so multiple shapes can be tessellated effectively, or a way to crop the image to the area's border?
Either that, or does someone know a way to output from MapInfo in such a way to make this possible? (Granted, it's a long shot, but you can't blame a guy for trying...)
Change Picture Link
I have fond a couple of posts to achieve this however they all require selecting the picture first. Is there a way to change the picture formula without selecting the picture?
Link A Picture To That Specific Product
I have excel worksheet with 2 sheets in it. Let’s call the one "Database", it consist of 713 rows and 15 columns with data in of my product. Then the other one "Display Product" in it you type in the code of the specific product so it search for my code and display all of the information of that product code on the "Display Product" sheet and it that work.
Now I want to link a picture to that specific product to the code. Here's the code I used:
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
Dim oPic As Picture
Me.Pictures.Visible = False
For Each oPic In Me.Pictures
If oPic.Name = .Text Then
oPic.Visible = True
oPic.Top = .Top
oPic.Left = .Left
Now this code works fine up to a specific limit in my case 66 picture to a product, and I need at least 200 more images in it but I get a runtime error in my macro when I put one more image in. This is where I get the run time error -> “Me.Pictures.Visible = False“.
I don't know if excel is limited to image usage. Or maybe there is another way to do what I want to do with more advance coding.
Using A Picture Link In A Comment To Make It More Dynamic!
It mentioned something about getting comments which display dynamic data as if something metioned in the cells will appear in the comment and on changing the data in the cells, the data in the comments also changes with it..
Unfortunately, I could not save that file or remember the website as my Internet went bonkers...
So can someone please help me with the same....
Shape Size Dependent On Cell Value
I'm trying to make a circles size (diameter) change depending on a value inputted in a cell, preferable I would like to have a limit to the sizes too so if that the circle will not have a diameter larger than 20 or smaller than 2 regardless of the values put in. the sheet will have several circles.
I know this must be documented somewhere but I don’t think I’m using the right terminology in my searches,
Add Shape To Cell With Cell Value Change
The Following works great in it's own workbook, however it will not run in mine. Is it because I have other macros running?
This is the error that I'm getting.
Automation error (Error 440)
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
If Range("N10").Value = "1.0" Then
ActiveSheet.Shapes("AutoShape 578").Visible = True
ActiveSheet.Shapes("AutoShape 578").Visible = False
Add Position Shape To Cell Location
i need to loop through a column of values and get each value
Dim LastRow2 As Long
ActiveSheet. Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Select
LastRow2 = ActiveCell.Row - 1
For Each c In Worksheets("Q2SCNeg").Range("A2:A" & LastRow2).Cells
i did this but it selects the first blank row (row 15) and gives me an empty message box 14 times (which is right, but i need 14 values) the reason i need the loop is because the number ov values will always change
Inserting Pictures And Resize To Active Cell Shape
I now have this code that inserts a picture and then resizes it the active cell shape.
Dim myPicture As String
myPicture = Application.GetOpenFilename _
("Pictures (*.gif; *.jpg; *.bmp; *.tif),*.gif; *.jpg; *.bmp; *.tif", , "Select Picture to Import")
If myPicture "" Then
.ShapeRange.LockAspectRatio = msoFalse
.ShapeRange.Height = ActiveCell.RowHeight
.ShapeRange.Width = ActiveCell.Width
.Placement = xlMoveAndSize
Paste Random Cell Content To An Auto Shape
I am looking for a macro that will copy the text-based contents of a random cell in the range B100:B135 to a callout text box. The name of the callout is Autoshape 13. The callout should be cleared before pasting the contents of the next random cell into it. This macro will be assigned to a button.
Use Picture Name From A Cell
I have recorded a macro for inserting, sizing and positioning a product photo into a report. The photo file is in a directory containing many files. Filenames are alpha numeric codes with a .jpg extensions. I wish to be able to enter a different code into a spreadsheet cell which will be named and let the macro insert the proper photo from the files in the subdirectory.
Here is the code which was recorded and which brings up the photo for file "HGGA134.jpg ".
"C:Documents and SettingsRichard WrightDesktopNUEVOProduct PhotosHGGA134.jpg" _
Selection.ShapeRange.LockAspectRatio = msoTrue
Selection.ShapeRange.Height = 195#
Selection.ShapeRange.Width = 180#
Selection.ShapeRange.Rotation = 0#
I need a way to change the "HGGA134" part of the code by having it reference a named cell in the report.
Picture Based On A Value In A Cell
I have found a few solutions here in the message boards but I don't see one that totally matches what I need. Basically I want it to look up the clients logos. We only have a few clients but when sending the report to a client we don't want them to be able to see or find who our other clients are or their logos. So I need it to display a picture based on a value but to also have the pictures on a seperate sheet that I can delete before distributing.
A variation of this would work but this stores all the pics on the report sheet and just hides the non active ones.
Unhide Picture If Cell Contains Value
I have attached a simplified version of the xls I am using. On the attached xls there are two tabs. The first tab (BUYS) has linked pictures of cells on the second tab (Warehousing).
I would like some code which would display the pictures only when the corresponding cells in Column F have a number in it. (This number could be anything)
e.g. If cell F4 has a number in it show Picture 1
If cells F4 and F5 have a number in them show Picture 1 and 2
My full xls (not attached) has another tab called SELLS. These two tabs (BUYS and SELLS) have 15 pictures each (1 for each row 4:18).
Ideally an exception would be written into the code so that if the xls was named "yymmdd Asian Executions" or "yymmdd Europe Executions" none of the pictures would show up.
I hope I have been clear but it's very difficult to be objective so please let me know if you need any more information.
Inserting A Picture Into A Cell
I am looking for a way to insert a picture into a cell BUT the picture should not float. It should change its size whenever the cells size changes - as if it was inserted into a rectangle drawn from the "PAINT" Bar. An example (but it floats) can be seen in the attached picture/
Changing Picture Aording To Cell Value
I've a sheet with vba code and many pictures the code's function is to display the picture which i write its name in cell (A1). it works well. the problem that the code stop to work after adding number of pictures that makes me conclude that excel has limit number of picture or pictures size or there is aproblem
so i hope to find any one who can expaline this form me or solve the problem.
Add Picture To Cell Comment
i need to have a way to link a small picture/thumbnail to a cell. so that there is a way to preveiw it. Idealy like what happens with the comments where you hover over the cell and the comment would pop up. or failing that mabe a cell linking to the image.
Copy Picture Dependant On Cell
I am trying to make an Excel sheet with a frontpage sheet and a data sheet. In the data sheet I have several columns with data and then in the end a cloumn with pictures. On the front page sheet I can easily with VLOOKUP formulas transfer the desired data from the data sheet to the front page sheet but I cannot seem to figure out how to copy the picture. When I try to copy the cell with the picture in it, the formula only copies the cell value, which is "0" because the only thing which is in the cell is the picture. how to copy a given picture from one sheet to another based on the information in another cell like a "Vlookup" formula?
Show Picture Based On Cell
I have folder with 5 photos on c (c:Pictures). Photos are named a, b, c, d, and e. In Excel workbook sheet1 (c:Photos.xls), how to display the photos in cell range (B1:F10) in response to change in cell A1 (i.e., when A1 cell value is “a”, the photo “a” is displayed in the range B1:F10, and so on when the A1 value changes)
Browse For Picture File And Put Location In Cell
I am trying to code where when someone hits the command button it will popup with the browse form and they find the location of the file and it puts there choice in a cell. don't know if it matters but the location would always be a picture. Here is what I have but it shows -1 in the cell
HTML Dim strFilePath As Variant
strFilePath = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFolderPicker).Show
shUserInformation.Range("D12").Value = strFilePath
Flashing Cell & Picture Load Additional Code
At the moment I have two macros. One loads up a background picture into my work sheet
when I start it up, the other two are called ‘StartBlinking’ and
This is the macro code I have to load up the picture:
Sheets("CASHFLOW + FUNDSFLOW").SetBackgroundPicture Filename:= _
What I hope to achieve is:
1. Get the picture to ONLY load up if it actually exists on the G:
drive, otherwise do nothing.
2. If value 1 to 13 is input in Cell C3, run the macro
3. If Cell C3 is left blank again, run the macro StartBlinking.
Macro To Change Linked Picture (Camera) Cell Reference
I am a complete newbie with the camera tool. Is there any way to make the camera tool dynamic so that the cells the tool is referencing can change upon the click of a button or some other form of switch? I am creating my first dashboard and this is the last step for my report to be completely dynamic.
Never mind, I apologize i just figured this one out...
Create a user defined formulaIn the UDF Create an if statementThe if statement's condition is the logistics in the shift mechanismThe value if true is the first group of cells you want in the snap shotThe value if false is the second group of cells you want in the snap shot, The range you want to toggle betweenRename the cell reference of any snap shot you have taken with the UDF name. In my example my UDF is "Dude" so when you select the camera tool it shows =Dude as the cell referenceReference a scroll bar to the conditional cell you selected in the if statement or choose statement. This is the shift mechanism
If you want to toggle between more than 2 sets of data use =Choose instead of =if
Macro To Link Cell To Sheet & Cell Stated By User
I have a macro that inputs a sheet and cell from the user. when the macro tries to make a formula it outputs =data!'AE3'. I need it to output =data!AE3
Dim Sheet As String
Sheet = InputBox("Take Data from where?")
Dim startcell As String
startcell = InputBox("Start Cell?")
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=" & Sheet & "!" & startcell & ""
Insert Picture & Auto Size To Active Cell Dimmensions
What I am trying to do is to give the user the ability to insert a photo and have it autosize into a range of cells--so far I can only get it to work with a single cell and a predefined file. Can this be refined so that rng references a group of cells and pic somehow lets the user input a file name or pick its name and location?
On Error Resume Next
Set pic = ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert("C:
On Error Goto 0
If Not pic Is Nothing Then 'Found it!'
Set rng = ActiveCell
.Height = rng.Height
.Width = rng.Width
.Left = rng.Left
.Top = rng.Top
If Formula: =IF(D4<0.38,"Thin",IF(0.38<D4<=0.48,"Good Shape","Bad Shape"))
I have D4=0.42. I thought this formula =IF(D4<0.38,"Thin",IF(0.38<D4<=0.48,"Good shape","Bad shape")) was supposed to give me "Thin" for D4<0.38, "Good shape" for 0.38<D4<=0.48 and "Bad shape" for the contrary, but it only gives me "Bad shape" when D4 is clearly between 0.38 and 0.48.
Link To Any Cell
I would like to ask if there's a way that i can create a link in a cell to another cell. Sample: in cell A1: there's a word "click to go to cell A150" in this case i dont have to use scroll down to go to cell A150.
Link To Another Cell
I would like to have a link in a merged set of cells that puts the insertion point to another cell. Scenario: In cell k30, the user puts in the amount of credit card debt a individual has, and scripts the user based on that information. Later on, they get a more accurate running total of the amount of debt and need to change the amount in k30 for an accurate quote. After ther running total, in cell j172(a merged box for instructions) i instruct the user to be sure to enter the new total in cell K30.
1. Is there a way to put a button or a link that would put the insertion point back up to K30 automatically, but allow the user to change it themselves and not change it automatically?
Link Pop-up On Cell Select To Cell
I'm hoping to hover my mouse over a cell to display text as popup. This text is linked to a cell and is dynamic.
I'm only wanting this feature to display info (in the popup) not link to a website
Currently I've dodged my way around the issue by using a hyperlink for the sole purpose of taking advantage of its hover popup feature.
The problem is that a hyperlink popup is limited to 255 characters so i can't display much text.
Is there is any VBA code or add-in's that take advantage of the mouse cursor position to display a text popup?
Kind of like the Comment feature but for dynamic use.
Link Image To Cell
In Excel, I have a sheet for each team that I manage. Each sheet lists the team members and displays their picture below their names. Some people are on multiple teams/sheets.
I have a master list with everybody's name and picture that I copy and paste the pictures from when putting a team together. This has become a very tedious process.
Is there a way I can type the person's name on a team sheet and have their picture automatically appear below their name? I don't know if this can be done with some kind of lookup or if it will involve VB. I tried making the picture the background of an Autoshape or comment, but I could not figure out how to dynamically change the picture based on the name in a cell.
Use A Cell Value In A Address Link...
I have is a summary worksheet with two columns. One column is for Project ID number and the other is an address link to a specific cell in the worksheet corresponding to the Project ID. Perhaps the best way to explain this is by giving an example:
Project ID (Column 1)
Balance (Column 2)
As you can see the spreadsheets are named after the Project ID number. What I would like to do, if possible, is instead of typing in the name of the spreadsheet for each project in column 2 (Balance), I could somehow reference the cell value in column 1 (Project ID). Something like this:
Project ID (Column 1)
Balance (Column 2)
Link Data In 1 Cell
Machine Part Number machine 1 123 machine 2 123 machine 3 123 machine 1 123 machine 2 456 machine 1 456 machine 3 456
i need to based on tis sample data come out with sth like tt:
Used In: 123 Machine 1, Machine 2, Machine 3 456 Machine 2, Machine 1, Machine 3
I need to group those machines under 1 part number. For instance, part 123 is used in which machines, I need to state them in a way like above. But repeated should not be stated again.
Find Which Cell Contain Link
I have a file contain some links with the other file. I want to remove these links but I don't know which cell contain the links. Is there anyway that can let me know which cell contains links so i needn't search one by one?
