Linking Pivot Table To Cell

I have a cell, C2, that will have a tab name pasted into it each time a new page is created. This name will be equivalent to a filter in PivotTable1 on that page.
Is there a way that I can have it that when the name is pasted, the filter "Time" can be linked to that cell and update in the pivot table?

I was wondering if there is any way possible to link your pivot table filters to filter the data the same way in the table that it comes from? So if i had date as one of my headers and i filtered the date to a specfifc date, is there a way to also filter the date in the data source sheet?

This is my first time usng a pivot table. I need to link the pivot table containing three fields to the array of data containing five fields below. Here is a sample workbook. Hi All, I have 2 pivot tables (PivotTable1 and PivotTable2) which both source from the same pool of date.
The difference between the two are that I have a different report filter criteria.
For one the heading is "day", for the other it is "night". Each colum of data has the same entry range (names of staff) and I want to be able to link the two tables so for instance -
If i select "Paul" from the (day) report filter on PivotTable1, I want the (night) report filter on PivotTable2 to also change to "Paul".

I am trying to link data from a pivot table we have in excel to a separate excel sheet.
The pivot table contains an up to date list of our inventory, however, we want to take that data and put it in a cleaner looking excel that we can e-mail to customers and publish on our website. Going individually, through every product takes too much time to have an up to date stock every day. Its even difficult to manage if we want to update just once a week.
When I link the cells of the pivot table to the new excel sheet they are constantly changing values as people are constantly editing the filters of the pivot table to look up various things.

I'm finding my way in pivottables (which is a new function to me).
I can now create one to count the item I wish (see attached).
I'm trying to get the table to display, but not use for counting, the rest of the row calls associated with the counted data.
For example, looking at attached, the source data is so:

I am using Excel 2007. A few years ago I managed to link a spreadsheet to a particular part of a website. To be specific, I linked a cell to a portion of a table on a website showing the current average price of petrol in the U.K. I also linked a cell to a website which showed the current exchange rate for pounds and dollars. I haven't been able to replicate the procedure.

On a worksheet, I created:
- a list of data
- a pivottable based on these data
When moving this worksheet this worksheet to another workbook, the pivot table can't refresh anymore. This throws an error message "Reference is not valid". To work around this problem I need to adapt the datasource. The same occurs if the list and the pivot table are on separate sheet, with the added strange behaviour that, when data an PT are split, it is not possible to move both sheet together.
This would not be a big issue if my problem had to be solved manually. The real problem is that I need to move the sheets from a C# program.

I have a worksheet with two pivot tables, one of which is visible to the user. Ideally, the user should be able to change the "Row Label" field settings of the visible pivot table and then press an "update button" that then adds the same field to the second pivot table.
Ideally, the ordering of the fields should also be made similar between the two tables, though this is of less priority.
I imagine it would be something in the style of:
"If number of Pivot1 active row label fields = X then
Pivot 2.AddRowLabelField = Pivot1.RowLabelField(X)
end if"

I have data that develops 3 to 4 pivot table each day. I would like to know if there is a way to change the date on one of the pivot table and have the other pivot tables date change to match with the first pivot table. At this time I am going to all 3 or 4 pivot table to select the correct date. The date is in the page position of the pivot table. I have attached a small sample of the data and the pivot tables.

I have an access 2000 database with many tables of data in it.
The tables have 12 fields containing customer information as follows:
1-vendor#, 2-bar code #, 3-store#, 4-department#, 5-style#, 6-item colour, 7-size, 8-active in basics stock, 9-sales, 10-stock on hand, 11-orders placed, 12-week end date
the pivot tables in excel 2000 track this data week by week, which are linked to tables in the access database.
Everything was working fine until I tried to perform a security wizard on my access database so users could not make any changes to the tables in access>>>>>>This corrupted my database some how!
As a possible solution I re-created an entirely new access database, thinking that I could continue to create pivot tables and everything would move smoothly as prior to the corruption, but ive been having problems.
PROBLEM:
After linking the data from access to excel to create my pivot tables the data from the table that is retrieved from access table is incorrect.
it come up with repetative figures eg....15 15 15 or 18 18 18 when the
Ive tried sources on the site and web vbut nothing helps tried manuals etc-
contacted my It dept at work but they have no clue on this issue.
Hope there is a guru expert out there some where... who can help!

Ive also tried to compact repair the access database... didnt work- tried refreshing the pivot table didnt work....im fairly certain that the data in the access table is correct.....im beginning to think there is a problem with the pivot table although they used to work when i did them before so not quite sure why this is happening and how I can resolve it?

I was wondering how they linked their pivot chart with a drop down (data validation). This is the pivot chart on the bottom right that is labeled "Brick Styles".

In VBA code, what's the simplest way to verify whether a cell is a member of a pivot table or not? I have a complicated way of doing this by checking if creating a formula in another cell with a reference to the cell in question generates the GETPIVOTDATA function; however, it seems like there should be a much simpler way.

I am trying to develop the best way to link two tables in two separate sheets in the same workbook in Excel. One table in the main sheet has a large amount of data in it, and the table in the second sheet collects selective date from the table in the main sheet. This makes it easier for the user to view the more important data from the main table. I developed IF functions which display the data from the main table into the new simplified table. The simplified table takes the data of each row from the main table in row order (row 1, row 2, row 3, etc.). Now the issue I am running against is that when I insert a new row within the main table, the second table does not see the newly inserted row.
Here is an example:
Say that both tables are sychronized upto row 40, and I decide to insert a new row with new data after row 25 in the main table. The simplified table will not see the new row because it is already past row 25, and the next row it will recognize from the main table will be row 41. Is there a way to have a VBA macro link the amount of rows in the two tables and have it so the simplified table will even display the data for the new rows in the main table?

I'm trying to copy the value of one column to another, column A has date and time in this format: 6/1/2013 6:35:00 AM and I'm trying to get ONLY the dates to another column so that when I do my pivot, I can sort it out by date. I tried =A1 and I can format the column to how I want it but the value of the cell still remains in date&time. Is there any formula I can use? or should I change anything in my pivot table?

From what I understand there's no way to do this without using macros. I would perfer not to use macros, but I need my PivotTables to auto-refresh anyways and apparently that will require a macro, so oh well. I'm very new to macro coding so I can't seem to successful apply any of the previous threads about this to my sheet.
I just need my pivot table on sheet "Customer" to filter the customer field based on the value in cell C1. Also I need to make sure the sheet doesn't "freak out" if the value in C1 is either blank, or is a customer value which doesn't exist in the table. Preferably in this scenario it would display nothing on the pivot table, but I don't know if that's possible. I want the sheet/macro to allow an invalid filter value in C1 just so the sheet doesn't lock up until it is corrected.
I also need my workbook to auto-refresh all the pivot tables is that's easy to code in as well.

I have a pivot table which I am interested in filtering in several different ways. The table contains a category for AREA on the Y axis and BLOCKS on the X axis. When unfiltered the tables displays AREA 1,2, and 3 and has a full list of parts. I can then filter the table by AREA to look at one area specifically, and when I do the BLOCKS list shrinks to only those which correspond to that specific AREA.
My problem is that I want to be able to reference on another sheet the value that corresponds to AREA 1 Total regardless of whether the table is filtered to only AREA 1 or if it is unfiltered. I cannot just reference the cell because AREA 1 Total is in a different cell when unfiltered then when filtered. Is there any way to do this?

filter my pivot table using a cell value, rather than manually selecting from the dropdown.
The report filter title is Rnd H, and values start from 0 through to 2, at .1 intervals (so 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 etc).
Rather than select "0.3" manually from the dropdown, can the pivot table do this if "0.3" was written in cell A1 for instance?

I have made a pivot table which I use each month by just updating the source data, however I was trying to have a cell in another workbook say "=A31" but it keeps going "=getpivotdata(...specific name".
My usual practice was to copy the top ten rows of my pivot table into another file but I am trying to erase this step.

I have a worksheet ("VillageReport") that contains several pivot tables. All tables are from the same data source and all pivot tables have "Location" as the first column field. I would like for the tables on this sheet to automatically be filtered when I select a village name from a drop down menu in a cell on this worksheet (C1). So, for example, when I select "Tarzana" in C1, the location field of all pivot tables on this sheet will show only Tarzana (all others are deselected).
a Macro for this? (I have already set up the drop down menu in C1). I have found some examples online but can't seem to adjust the code to fit my workbook. I am not very familiar with VBA.
