Find MAXIMUM, Show Date When MAXIMUM Occurred
Oct 9, 2008Look in Column E and find the MAX value. Once you find the MAX value, (let's say E27) display the date that's in C27. I bet this is really easy but I've been screwing around with it for over a half hour and can't get the correct result.

Here the maximum value is 212, Is there any way to find its corresponding date. Date in Row(A1:A5), Values in Row(B1:B5). Tried my best to get the date; but no way.

In sheet1 : Cell : "D3" : I have find out & show maximum date with two criteria (i.e. code & series) from all sheets.
Also in cell : "E3 : I have find out maximum date with two criteria from particular one sheet only.
I have mentioned comments in attach file.
In sheet name 1112 & 1213 : I have a lot of data approx 40000.

Column B : Invoice date
Column C : Code
Column D : oano
Column E : Name
Column F : city
Column G : distric
Column H : Series

May 15, 2009I have two columns of data. The first column is the 'type' and the second column is the 'value'. I need to find the maximum 'value' for each individual 'type'
The 'types' are not necessarily next to each other and the data cannot be sorted to do so.
Example:
type value
A 15
B 6
A 21
C 7
B 13
I need to be able to say the MAX for 'A' is 21, the MAX for 'B' is 13 and the MAX for 'C' is 7.

Dec 21, 2006I have a row of dates, with variable start date, each being one week apart, starting in cell T5 (say T5 = 4/12/06, U5 = 11/12/06, V5 = 18/12/06 etc). The last date is in cell AE5. I wish to loop along the range and find the date that today’s date (say 21/12/06) falls in (answer = 18/12/06). And enter that date in cell Q2.

I want to have known Latitude and Longitude data that will exist in columns A&B. Columns C & D will have address numbers and Street Name. I would like my lookup formula to find the longitude and latitude data from my "lookup" sheet, when the matching address information is typed in, in my 2009 sheet. I have to keep the street numerics and street name separate on this worksheet as well. I believe I'll need two separate lookup formulas as I need these formulas to start in cell G4 & H4 in my "GeoCoding1" sheet. Is it possible to have four columns of data to be viewed in a lookup formula? I tried this formula in cell G4 (GeoCoding1 sheet)

Jun 9, 2007There a a total of 13 sheets. Sheets 1-12 are named by months i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar, etc.. Each of these sheets contains a max temp for the day. There are cells at the bottom of each of these sheets that return the max, min, and average. The last sheet is an annual summary sheet. It collects info from the other 12 sheets and places them on it. There is a cell on the annual summary sheet that attemps (this is my problem) to determine the max and min temp for the year (easy enough). The problem is that once the sheet determines the max and min temp for the year to determine what day of what month it occurred on.

Jan 2, 2008I have a column of merged cells which contains a number e.g. 396322669097172 and a time e.g. 00:00:00.
I can format this combined cell as a 'general', but think it can be formatted as any type of cell retaining this layout (after combination, prior I had to format both cells as textual), however when it is then not possible to get a maximum value from this column using a pivot table. The max comes back as zero.
I have tried using some freeware to combine the cells and I don't know what it did differently but I was able to order the values using a pivot table afterwards.

Sep 30, 2009I have a column with 11 different numbering schemes that go from 736466.01 through 736466.11 In the group from 736466.01 through 736466.07 I need to have the adjacent column look to those cells and if it finds 736466.01-.07 return "CM" if it is 736466.08-.11 I need it to return "TC". I created the formula below but it doesn't like something I have done unless I change the format of the 736466.xx to text. Anything other than 736466.01-.11 should return a "null" or "void" Can you help me improve this formula, or show me a better way of creating it?

I cannot concatenate the reference and version number as my lookup reference doesnt know what one is the latest version...

Now the data range is from F8:L27. If the value in C17 is not present in Column L, then the value greater than the specifed value should be searched in Column L. I have tried using VLOOKUP, but cannot find for a range of values.

Jan 16, 2010I am having trouble with large data sets of rents by market: trying to find the peak rent in a time-series, and then look for the next trough rent in time. I tried using the Newsletter 3 techniques which feels like the right direction, but I am not getting the nesting right or some of the parameters in the functions.
So, within each time-series I need to find the MAX value (peak rent), wherever that is in the array. Then I need to look to the right of that exact MAX value and find the exact MIN value (trough rent), whereever that is in the array (again, to the right of the MAX value).

Jan 19, 2007I am looking for a way of finding the maximum value in column H for each row in a pre- filtered range using VBA.
For example, the result of of filtermacro1 may return several records derived from a database of several hundred records. In the example below, the name of the person is in column C, followed by their H column value.
Audrey Perkins, .5
Marc Bloomberg, 2.0
Matt Phillips, .5
Paul Pachson, 2.0
However, the H column value may not be the maximum value for the rows above, as there are other records for Audrey, Marc, Matt & Paul in the database.
If the names are matched to the max value in column H for each record it should read
Audrey Perkins, 1.0
Marc Bloomberg, 3.5
Matt Phillips, .5
Paul Pachson, 6.5
How would I query only the names in a pre-filtered range and obtain the highest value in column H for each ? These values then need to be copied to H7 in a sheet called Detention Register.
