I have the following columns that return cover period dates.
Start of Cover PeriodEnd of Cover Period01-Nov-0631-Jan-0701-Jul-0831-May-0901-Dec-0930-Jun-1001-Jan-1131-Dec-10
I however need a macro that will delete the cell contents if the "Start of Cover Period" (column AK) date is > than the "End of cover period" (column AL) date.
Thus it must compare ak2 with al2 and if ak2>al2 then clear both cells. if AK2
I am developing a macro that will copy over the row from one workbook to another based on today's date. I have looked but having some trouble finding a solid way of doing this.
I need a Macro that can look in column A to find the date, and then drop down one row and move to column B and then copy the data in that cell to column C back up one row.
I've attached the workbook so you'll know what i'm talking about. I need the green cells to be moved to the blue cells all the way down.
COLUMN A =Date COLUMN B =Empty Row COLUMN C=Copy Details COLUMN D=Paste Details
I want to create a macro assigned to a button that copies values from one cell to another.
I want it to be smart in that way that it should copy the values to predefined cells cells based on the month that has been selected in a drop down field. So if i select for January, it should copy the fixed selection to other target cells then when September was selected.
I need to extract a number of cells, based on the date of another cell and then past these values into a column on anther sheet. Example: Sheet "Name1" in Column "G" is where I want the values to be pasted.
Sheet "Name2" has the dates in Column "B". I wish to extract the entries in Column "K" into Column "G" on Sheet "Name 1". I also have another Sheet, "Name 3" which has the the date field in column "B" and the entries I wish to extract in Column "K"and pasted in column "G" on the "Name 1"sheet.
The date range I'll be looking to past is by Month and year. The date fomat is dd/mm/yyyy.
I'm exporting a csv file from a membership database with the attendance of members. With a macro i open the file and copy the contend to excel. With the macro the column for the date has *randomly* wrong formats. Example the date in column B:
Aasia Tallah19-03-2009 19:33 Aasia Tallah17/03/09 7:49 pm Aasia Tallah15/03/09 7:53 pm Aasia Tallah14/03/09 6:34 pm Aasia Tallah03-12-2009 20:05 Aasia Tallah03-11-2009 19:56 Aasia Tallah03-10-2009 19:54
I try to change the format of the column, but that does not work. Rows 2,3 and 4 seem to be text but they are not. If i access the edit bar for example the 17th of march and store without changing anything, it changes to the format of the first row. That is how i want it. If i copy the column by hand, every thing is fine.
All of the following i tryed: - format date column of the csv before copying... failed - copy special with only pasting values... failed - preformat the column i paste the date to... failed - delete the sheet i paste to and create a new one... failed - copy the macro to a new workbook... failed
I believe I have searched this forum and haven't found an answer. I have many spread sheets with this format of a value for time in hh:mm, water height and then a date at the hh:00 and then no values for date until the next hh+1:00. I would like to copy the value of the hh:00 cell to the rest of the column until it hits the hh+1:00 cell in a macro so that we are not having to copy down 33,000 lines of each spreadsheet.
I have a workbook with 2 worksheets being used. Sheet 1 has the months of the year starting with Jan in A1, Feb in B1 etc. On Sheet 2, I have a column of information. The first cell in the column eg. B1 has data validation list based on the months on Sheet 1. The information in the rest of the colum on Sheet 2 needs to be copied to the relevant colum on Sheet 1
I am trying to develop a macro that allows the user to copy and paste a set of date and time values, move them to the next sheet and increase the month by 1. I need help trying to find out how can I create a counter for the program to keep running without the need to reprogram the macros again.
What is the code i need to use to assign a macro to a command button which inserts the current date and time in the selected cell regardless of where that cell is?
I have data on sheet-1 ("MEAL CHART") that I copy over to sheet-2 (Nutri_DB) daily. The macro below is working for me when I post the data the same day it is recorded. However, I frequently need to post my data the day before or day after it is recorded.
I would like to modify my code below so it copies/pastes the data based on the date in cell B1 (Named range "DATE") not the actual date (today()).
I want to make an easy to use timesheet for work. I have a calendar set up on a sheet in a workbook and i want to be able to select any date in this calendar and have it be copied into a cell of my choosing in another worksheet in the same book. I already have the formula set up to auto fill the rest of the week from that date, any ideas how to do the selection and copy and paste part quickly and simply?
I am using a mac so cant use the calendar control function as far as I know, if I'm wrong let me know because it sounds very simple.
I have tried to adapt some code and it all works (I get no error messages) but for the fact that nothing is pasted. What is wrong and is there an easier way?
Sub AddDate() Dim dt As Range Dim wc As Range
On Error Resume Next Set dt = Application.InputBox("Select the date", Type:=8) Set wc = Application.InputBox("Click on week commencing", Type:=8) If dt Is Nothing Or wc Is Nothing Then Exit Sub Range("dt").Select Selection.Copy Range("wc").Select ActiveSheet.Paste On Error GoTo 0 End Sub
I am trying to build a summary report that pulls from two different worksheets within the same workbook. Here's the context of my problem:
Worksheet 2: Column A has a list of dates. The corresponding information for each date is within the row. Sometimes, there are repeated dates with different corresponding information.
Worksheet 3:This is my summary sheet. This report needs to update daily and only pull data related to "today's" date. My question is if i have three rows with the same date but different data, how do i tell my summary sheet to display all three rows for that date. So far, I can only get it to pull the data from the last row with that date.
I was wondering if there is any way of copying multiple, entire rows if they contain todays date from one sheet into a new one. I have a sheet (sheet1) with data such as names, reasons, and also a "next in" column, which displays the date when the person returns to work. This is column G. This sheet contains all the records ever put into the workbook. I then have a sheet (sheet2) which is for the records relevant only to 'today', it has the same layout and cell amounts as sheet1.
I'm trying to find a way to copy all of the rows from sheet1 which have 'todays' date (eg =TODAY) in their cell in column G and paste it into sheet2 to form a report of who returns to work 'today'. By 'today' I mean the day which the workbook is being used on. Ideally I'd like for the macro to be applicable to a button which can be clicked by the user, although this doesn't matter too much.
creating a VBA that will scan my entire sheet and any cell with a date before todays date, the entire row will be copied and pasted to another sheet. and it should search every cell in sheet 1 and paste all rows with dates in the past. if there is more then one cell in a row with the date in the past, that row will copied only once.
I have 2 worksheets, 1 with a table sorted like this (in a row):
component | start date | end date | assigned to
Second worksheet with a table like a calendar with dates and people (dates in the columns and people in the rows), every component is assigned to each person by dates.
I want the assignment from worksheet 1 to worksheet 2 to be automatically. i will set the start and end date next to the component in the first table and assign it to a person/s and it will be automatically get filled in the second worksheet (the calendar) under the person/s and under the same dates as set in the first worksheet.
I need macro to copy values from a Master worksheet on a daily basis, and paste them to multiple individual worksheets in cells adjacent to today's date (already crafted). For instance, a value of 8 is entered into a particular cell in the Master, it is copied and pasted into column E of another worksheet, on the row with today's date already written in column B. I need to do this repeatedly for over 50 worksheets.
I did a search on this site and found some code I was looking for (see link:
http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...e-in-cell.html - Leith Ross's response code).
The code works perfectly, however, if I save the workbook with a different spreadsheet on top than the spreadsheet referred to in this code, I get an error message: Method 'Range' of object '_Worksheet' failed.
I should state that I did change "Private Sub Workbook_Open()" to "Private Sub Auto_Open()".
I assume I need to modify the code but am unsure as to how.
In the sheet I am working on I have some numbers that represent todays activity. These numbers are volatile and reset when the date advances. I have a column on another tab that has all the days of the month as F4:F33
The results I want will go in the G4:G33 column. C2 is Today() to avoid too many Today()s. Active!J10 is the value I need in the G column.
Basically what I need is the value from Active!J10 to be copied to whichever cell corresponds to the date next to it in the G4:G33 and then stay there when the date advances
The formula I am using for the g range is : =IF(F24=C2,Active!J10) =IF(F25=C2,Active!J10) =IF(F26=C2,Active!J10) And so on down the column.
I dont mind the FALSES for future dates, but the current one changes to false upon the advancement of the date. Basically, I need a running log of the final numbers going down the G range and for those values to stay there when the date advances.
Is this possible using code: Copy Cell A1 and Paste in first empty Cell down Column D. This would be connected to a command button. Both Cell A1 and Column D are on the same spreadsheet.
I am trying to create a macro to run from a form button, within a report, to save a file to a variable file path and name depending on the date value in cell B5.
The format of B5 looks like - 13/08/2014 16:39
The file path has folders for each year in format "yyyy" with each year having sub folders for each month in format "mm".
The file name is just the date only and is formatted "dd.mm.yy" e.g. 13.08.14
I have tried the code below in various permutations but always end up with an error - Method 'SaveAs' of object '_Workbook' failed.
Basically, I need to reformat a set of data (see before and after). A specific column should only contain 1 value, if there is more than 1 value it will be separated by a comma. If this column contains more than 1 set of data then I would need to insert a row and duplicate the information based on how many different sets there are. All the copied data should remain the same with the exception of the "Key" column, it should only have 1 value and each copied row should contain the corresponding value in the key field.
BTW - it could be on the same sheet or a different worksheet (doesn't matter)
BEFORE Name Number KEY Date Name1 1 a,b,c 12/1/2011 Name2 2 x 12/1/2011 Name 3 5 one,three 12/1/2011
AFTER Name Number KEY Date Name1 1 a 12/1/2011 Name1 1 b 12/1/2011 Name1 1 c 12/1/2011 Name2 2 x 12/1/2011 Name 3 5 one 12/1/2011 Name 3 5 three 12/1/2011
Sub CopyPasteValue() Dim ARow Dim AColumn Dim BRow Dim BColumn Dim Value AColumn = 1
[Code]....
What I want it to do is to start in cell B1 and look down until it finds a non-blank cell; copy the contents of that cell. I then need it to go to the same row Col A and go down from until it finds the first non-blank cell then paste into the corresponding cell in Col B. It should continue this way through the rest of the worksheet. There is no set pattern to say to go down 5 rows or such. Also the number of pastes in each step is variable from 1 to ??
In my worksheet, the first non-blank cell in Col B is cell B3 and the first non-blank cell in Col A is A7. The paste should occur in cells B7:B10 because the next non-blank cell in Col A is A11.
I need to build a macro which copies 3 rows every day and pastes the row data into an identical sheet. The three rows will have column "D" as =today(). As the days progress the three rows will change accordingly ( tag to the today's date)
e.g. 28/1/2014 28/1/2014 28/1/2014
I need the macro to recognize the date when pressed and copy the corresponding rows of data and paste them into an identical sheet with the same date. The second sheet is an archive sheet. The date will tick over as per the calendar.
All i want is for a selected cell and its contents to be divided by eight, that value pasted into the original selected cell as well as the next SEVEN cells to the immediate right.
