Macro To Test For Empty Worksheet?

View 2 RepliesBelow is the macro to work between my TEST.xls file and another worksheet which is opened within the same workbook with the TEST file. If there are more than 2 files, the code ActiveWindow.ActivateNext won't work.
The number of files received from my suppliers varies depending on how busy the volume is. It can be as many as 20 files a day.
ActiveWindow.ActivateNext
Range("C2").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=IF(RC[5]
I want to add an IF statement to my macro that will run only if a cell on the worksheet is not blank (empty). I know how to use the if statements but can't figure out how to test a cell for contents.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm testing to see if a cell has nothing in it, and if that is true then it will execute the code. My problem is that even though the cell is blank the field does have a drop down list (list validation set for that field) below is the code i used, but doesn't work.
If Range("b3").Value = " " Then
I am looking to create a macro to be assigned to a button that copies the last row of data entered and then pastes it to the last empty row on a different worksheet. This is a dummy spreadsheet to work with (I have more data, but the concept is one in the same). Sheet1 ("Branch1"), Sheet2 ("Branch2"), and Sheet3 ("All"), the names in brackets are names of the sheets, but for ease I'll refer to them as Sheet1, Sheet2, and Sheet3. I have columns beginning in B as follows: Date, Branch, Currency, Coin, and Total (the branch and Total are tied to formulas, however I just need to the text values and formats to come over to the other worksheet). have the portion regarding the copy of the last row in Sheet1, however it won't PasteSpecial.Selection in Sheet3 as it says the cells are not sized or formatted correctly.
VB:
Sub CopyB2()
lr2 = Sheets("Branch2").Range("B" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
lr3 = Sheets("All").Range("B" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row + 1
Sheets("Branch2").Range("B" & lr2).EntireRow.Copy Sheets("All").Range("B" & lr3)
End Sub
I don't want a macro to run if grouping is already present on a particular worksheet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to work out some code that will take the contents of a cell (either alias or IP name), carry out a ping operation and return the result into the worksheet in the next columns to the right.
I've searched this site and found something similar that returns the result of the ping to a MSGBOX but this isn't quite what I want.
The endgame is to have a For/Next loop for a list of IP addresses in (say) A1:A10 and have the results pasted into columns B, C and so on, with each line of the ping result pasted into subsequent columns.
I'm creating a macro to select, modify dimensions and place shapes on a excel sheet. (I'm talking about pictures insered and stocked in a specific sheet of my workbook)
When the users insert a new picture he has to set a name for each of them.
A combobox contain the choices, when an item is selected, the macro identify, size and place the corresponding picture.
But I have a bug if a shape doesn't exist when I try to select it :
Sheets("fiche de controle").Select
'select the sheet with the pictures
ActiveSheet.Shapes(Item_old).Select
'select the shapes "Item_Old"
Item_Old is a variable corresponding to the picture name.
If the user made a typo, I have a bug.
Someone knows how to test if the shapes exist to display a meesage if not ?
Or somethig to avoid this kind of bug ?
I am trying to determine Long Term Gain (LTG,) Long Term Loss (LTL,) Short Term Gain (STG,) Short term Loss (STL,) or No Loss nor Gain (NGL)testing two cells (A1 and B1)and setting a third cell (C1) to the text LTG, LTL, STG, STL, or NGL depending on the results of testing cells A1 and B1.
A1 represent a number of years and B1 represent gains or losses (negative)in dolars.
The way I see the logic is as follows:
If cell A1 or cell B1 are either one of them equal to 0, then it is neither a Gain nor a Loss (NGL.)
If cell A1 is greater than or equal to 1, then it is Long Term; else, if A1 is greater than 0 and less than 1, then it is Short Term.
On the other hand, if cell B1 is greater than 0, then it is a Gain; if B1 is less than 0 (a negative number,) then, it is a Loss.
I need to find (if it is posible in Excel) one formula to test the two cells for posible outcomes:
If A1 = 0 then C1 = NGL
If B1 = 0 then C1 = NGL
If A1 >= 1 and B1 > 0 the C1 = LTG.
If A1 >= 1 and B1 < 0 the C1 = LTL.
If A1 < 1 and B1 > 0 then C1 = STG
If A1 < 1 and B1 < 0 then C1 = STL
I am using a count if to look at a column C in a worksheet a and return how many time the word 'on test' occurs. This is then returned to a table in another worksheet. I have 5 worksheets in total with the same columns, how can I do multiple countif - so that it will count all the 'on test' in column C for all 5 sheets.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not know if I have this written correctly, I would like to have the sub - Retro run whenever some one opens this worksheet - "FORM". The retro is also suppose to test cell H12 to see if it is blank before running the msgbox.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI wrote a macro for a pivot table.
Range("A1").Select
ActiveWorkbook.PivotCaches.Add(SourceType:=xlDatabase, SourceData:= _
"Export!R1C1:R3000C53").CreatePivotTable TableDestination:="", TableName:= _
"PivotTable4", DefaultVersion:=xlPivotTableVersion10
ActiveSheet.PivotTableWizard TableDestination:=ActiveSheet.Cells(3, 1)
ActiveSheet.Cells(3, 1).Select
ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable4").AddDataField ActiveSheet.PivotTables( _
"PivotTable4").PivotFields("Reference"), "Count of Reference", xlCount
With ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable4").PivotFields("ACN received date")
.Orientation = xlRowField
.Position = 1
End With
What i want to know is if there is a code line to test if "Non Processed" value exists in column "Status" and then hide the value.
Now, if the macro does not find one value just gives me error.
I am trying to write a code that would hide when certain cells in the worksheet are empty. Also the sheet name should start with a -.
This is the code i have so far. The thing is that the sheet will always hide. The criteria on the cells doesnt work.
Sub Hide_all_filled_Templates()
Dim ws As Worksheet
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
For Each ws In Worksheets
If Left(ws.Name, 1) = "-" Then
If Not Range("I9").Value = "" Or Range("K9").Value = "" Or Range("M9").Value = "" Or Range("O9").Value = "" Then ws.Visible = False
End If
Next
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
End Sub
The code now hides all shees starting with "-". It does not take the cell criteria into account. Why?
Other point is that these cell references are just a few of what it should really be. How do I make this easier for myself to write the code. Point is that these cells come in row 9 (like the example) then in row 11 then in row 15, 17, 21,23, etc. Also the columns jump with uneven steps.
if there's a way to find the first non-empty cell in a worksheet?
Here's what I'm trying to do, the incorrect syntax is underlined:
If IsNotEmpty(123, 2) Then
'Execute some code
End If
I am need of some code that I can assign to a button that will take a user to the first empty row of another worksheet in order to do some data entry. I only need to look in column A, which is titled "Tag Number."
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to adapt the Macro I created that copies and pastes from one work sheet to another. I need to paste to the first empty cell in A column. See the code I have listed below.
Sub Button15_Click()
Selection. AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="<>"
Range("A2:E78").Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("WorkSheet").Select
Range("A17").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Range("C17").Select
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Range("A1:E13").Sort Key1:=Range("A1"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:= _
xlGuess, OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _
DataOption1:=xlSortNormal
Sheets("XH & HVYR").Select ..........
When the worksheet is changed;
-For each row between A3 and A5000
-If cell in column L is empty
-Do Nothing and move on to next row
-Otherwise if cell in column L is not empty
-Copy entire row to alternate sheet, and delete row from original sheet.
-After all rows between A3 and A5000 have been checked, sort alternate sheet in ascending order based on the contents of column A.
The issue is that the code keeps skipping some rows that should be copied, possibly due to the 'for each' command not liking how I'm deleting rows (maybe?)
VB:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim rCell As Range
Dim lRow As Long
lRow = Range("A3:A5000").Rows.Count

On some of my worksheets, the slider bar on the right has become a small square rather than a long rectangle. This causes this slightest shift downward to jump through large amounts of rows. Excel seems to think there must be data down there I need. How do I get rid of empty cells at the bottom of a worksheet so that this no longer happens?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am collecting data from 6 locations for the quarter and combining the information into a corp worksheet. Each quarter I need to copy information from 6 different files and paste it into the master file worksheet. The sheet I need to copy is named Substandard. The amount of information changes from each location (ie one may have 10 rows one 50 rows) so the number of the row to paste it into the master sheet changes. I would like a macro that opens the file Location1 copies the information from the substandard sheet opens the Master file pastes the information into the Substandard sheet closes the Location1 file, and repeats the process for all 6 locations. I would end up with all infomation in the Master file substandard sheet. I know how to manually record a macro to do this but the numer of the row to paste it into varies on the Master sheet depending on the amount of information from each location.

I am trying to find a macro that will filter on Column F (non-blanks - just cells with dates) cut just the filtered data (A:G inclusive)without the Header Rows and then paste/move this data to the first empty row on another sheet called "Complete"
So that I get the cells in columns A:G with dates in moved to the "Complete" tab and they are no longer in the sheet "Deliverables"

I have a form with a main list box and several other list boxes. I drag and drop records from the main list box to the others. When I drop a record onto one of the list boxes, a corresponding worksheet is updated with the same record. This works just fine.
The problem I have is:I close and re-open the form after having added some dataDrag/Drop a record to the list boxThe worksheet won't find the first empty rowExample: If the worksheet already contains 4 rows of data, I have to drag/drop 5 times before the fifth row will be updatedI would like to drop the data the first time and have the first blank row updated
Notes:
1.) I have tried variations of "xlUp", "xlDown", and SpecialCells(xlCellTypeLastCell) in the "Worksheets("Monday")... line of code; all to no avail.
2.) The cells contain formatting (borders)
Here is the relevant code:
Code:
'Copy items from the list box to the worksheet
For intI = 1 To ListBox2.ListCount
For intJ = 1 To ListBox2.ColumnCount
If IsEmpty(Worksheets("Monday").Cells(intI + 1, intJ)) Then
Worksheets("Monday").Cells(intI + 1, intJ).Value = ListBox2.List(intI - 1, intJ - 1)
End If
Next intJ
Next intI
Need a macro that will run until next row is empty.
two inputs are needed...if the two inputs are present in the databse, then it will show the other details
I would like to have an alert msg to prompt the user whether he/she wan to proceed to run the macro upon the macro button is pressed. However the alert msg will only pop up if cell value, A1 is not empty. In the alert msg, The user will have an option to choose to run the macro and do not run the macro.
Another question. I have a macro copy some data from other workbooks. I would like to alway return to a worksheet, named"Summary" after the macro is run. any way to do that ?
I want to create a macro that will cut and paste a worksheet out of an existing workbook and tidy up the table by removing all rows where there is no value in one of the fields (product or part number for example).
