Macro That Will Delete Duplicates On Entire Worksheets
Dec 29, 2011
I have a macro that delete empty cells in a column, what i wanted to do is while deleting the empty cells is that the macro will also delete duplicates in ENTIRE WORKSHEETS. My file has so many sheets so i need a macro that run or loop on my entire worksheets.
This is my code. that only runs in a single sheet.
Code:
Sub deleteblanks()
Columns("H").SpecialCells(xlBlanks).Delete (xlUp)
End Sub
I have a excel 2007 workbook that has 5 sheets "MASTER" , "RED" , "WHITE", "GOLD" & "BLUE". There are 7 columns in each sheet and the master has about 8,000 rows . In column D of each sheet there is a unique number (approx. 8 - 10 digits ) that I would like to at the press of a command button search through sheets "RED" "WHITE" "GOLD" & "BLUE" against the unique numbers in the "MASTER" sheet and if there any duplicates numbers delete the entire row but leave all the data in the master sheet.
I need excel to delete entire rows if there are duplicates in two columns combined.
So, if I have this sample data (in reality I have a lot more columns)
1 Tr. ID Last Name First Name Sex 2 RBM_A Miller Johnny M 3 RBM_A Bayron Josephine F 4 RBM_A Jackson Reynaldo M
[Code] ........
I want excel to delete only row 9, not 11, 13 or 14.
So far, if I look for duplicates in both columns it marks duplicates in either one. Also if I delete the duplicates, it deletes them only in those two columns, leaving me with distorted data (in this example, row 14 would have no last or first name, but only the values "RBM_C" in column B and "F" in column E.
We receive huge Excel files and we need to validate for and delete duplicate records before they are imported to a software product called Exceed Premier. We are having a difficult time with Excel spreadsheet duplicate record validation because we have to first export the files from the Exceed database into an Excel spread, merge the thousands of other new records from multiple Excel files, then import back into Exceed.
Is there a method in Excel/VBA that can merge several worksheets and check for and delete duplicate irecords? The records will be in the 20-50K range and growing.
Currently use this macro (see below) but occasionally I have more rows than 842. I could increase to 10000 and this would work but looking for a more automated macro that will automatically remove duplicates from all rows i.e. a macro that works out all rows.
Sub copyTab() Cells.Select Selection.Copy Sheets("filtered_data").Select Range("A1").Select ActiveSheet.Paste Columns("A:A").Select Application.CutCopyMode = False ActiveSheet.Range("$A$1:$J$842").RemoveDuplicates Columns:=1, Header:=xlYes End Sub
If column B contains the word FALSE, I need to delete that entire row, then I need to repeat this action on 11 sheets out of 14 on one workbook, in one action.
My workbook is set up such that column B has dates (starting in B11 and going to B1200). C11:Z1200 has data that correspondes to the date in Column B. There are a lot of dates that don't have data. For example, row 15, there is a date in B15 but no other information for the remainder of row 15.
I'm trying to write a macro that will delete entire rows for the dates in which there is no data. So, I'm presuming that it would search C15:Z15, if there is not information in these cells, then delete row 15.
Row 16 becomes 15 when you delete 15.. I don't know how to get around this.
I've seen a few examples of macros to delete the row if the first letter is something, but not if the first 2 is equal to something.
I'm looking to go thru every row that contains data and look in Column B to see if it starts with P4 or P5. If that's true, then delete the entire row.
I have a macro at work that shows which files are duplicates (same name plus file size) it then produces a list of this with 3 fields file path(excluding file), file name and ext, and size. it produces a duplicate of the file for example:
file a file a file b file b
i would like a macro to delete just 1 of theese (as deleteing both would be bad!! haha) and have no idea how to start this. other than going through all 1679 files that have a duplicate.
1). For each cell that in the range that has a Red background delete the entire column I have attached a sample spreadsheet where I have tried to do this. It's not quite working. It does not seem to work when there are RED cells next to each other.
I know that I can do a simple thing like column("A:A"), but I'd rather have it in a loop as in the sample code, in case the columns change in the future.
2). The second task is to delete the rows in the spreadsheet where the first cell in the row is a blank.
I need an easy code that searches all of column A and deletes the entire row if the cell has the value "-". It needs to find the last row of data using something like LastRow = Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
Is there a macro to delete an entire row if a duplicate entry appears only in a certain column.
1. Look for the column header with the name "File Number" 2. Anytime the same number under the "File Number" column appears more than once in that column, keep the row that contains first occurrence of that number buy delete the entire row anytime that number is repeated in another row in that same column.
This is regardless of what is contained in the other columns. For example..let's say these cells contained this data...
In this case, I would want to keep rows 1, 2, and 3. But, I would want to delete rows 4 & 5 because the number "UTE00225" has already appeared first in B1. I'm using Excel 2003.
Looking for a macro to find and delete all duplicates and keep only unique values from a column. For example column AS has ACLU0403598 ACLU0403598 ACLU0403598 ACLU0406600 ACLU5165518 ACLU0406581 ACLU0406581
All red items need to be removed and keep only green items. Would also like the entire row the duplicates are in to be deleted.
I have a spreedsheet with 17,000 rows in it. In column D I have ID numbers and in column B I have the dates. There are multiple entries for each ID in column D which gives multiples dates each entry was given in column B. I need a VBA Macro that will identify duplicate entries in Column D and keep only the most recent entry by date in column B.
I need it to clear the contents from the cells, then copy a number of sets of cells from selector, paste them in to AM call plan and then delete the duplicates. My code is getting stuck very early in the whole thing. The copy, paste sequences, were originally recorded as a macro, then added to trying to get it to work.
Here is the code, and the red line of code is where it is stopping:
Sub Call_Plan_Targets() ' ' Call_Plan_Targets Macro ' Dim LR As Long Application.ScreenUpdating = False LR = ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count
I've altered a Print Worksheets Macro from the web to allow me to choose which worksheets I want to delete by selecting a checkbox. For some reason, though, the macro almost always deletes the last worksheet as well as the one selected.

It would be great of I could delete all but one of the hidden worksheets. It would be perfect if I could tell the macro not to delete one of the hidden worksheets (called "Test O2 and CO2"), but if that is too difficult, then just one to delete all the hidden sheets would be fine.
Does anyone out there have a macro that will delete all worksheets except for one specific one? In this case I want all worksheets deleted except for one called "MAIN".
I'm trying to track information pertaining to employees across different worksheets in one excel file. I have one sheet that is the master list of employees. The first column of every worksheet is the same (employees names based on their location) but track different information.
I want to be able to create a macro button that will update all the worksheets if i insert or delete an employee from the master list. When a new row is inserted, the other worksheets should be updated as well with the new name and a blank row to be filled in. And when a name is deleted, the entire row should be deleted as well.
I am looking for a macro that can do one of two things. I am not sure which way I want to go with this yet and how automated it should be. Either scenario will result in a significant time save.
Scenario One 1. Copy & Paste Special Values on the selected/active worksheet 2. Protect Selected Worksheet with password "1234" 3. Delete ALL worksheets except the selected/active worksheet from the file. Names of other sheets can be various and are not static
For example: A workbook has the following: sheets1, sheet2, sheet3, sheet_unknown_name If you are working in sheet1 the macro would copy paste special values the entire sheet, protect sheet1 with the password "1234" and delete any and all other sheets.
Scenario Two 1. Copy & Paste Special Values on the selected/active worksheet into a new workbook 2. Protect the new workbook with password "1234" 3. Rename the new workbook with the original workbook name adding either "em_" to the front or "_em" to the end of the filename 4. File, Send To, Mail Recipient as attachment.
Just need to delete some hyperlinks in column A on 50+ worksheets. Thought a loop through all the worksheets would do it. Only works on active sheet. Forgive my ignorance, don't really even know where it goes, once it works - module or workbook?
I'm working on Outlook 2003 and Word 2000 which are not compatible. I have an Excel Sheet which are my contacts from Outlook and I want to re-work it to have only a certain category left.
I need a macro that does - search a certain column - deletes the row if it does NOT find a certain condition
Ideal would be a little pop up window to enter which category I want left.
