Macro To Count All Sheets In Workbook And Save As PDF?
Nov 9, 2013
I have a macro in a workbook that starts with one sheet (called Home Page), the macro opens other workbooks and copies sheets to add to the original workbook. When the macro has finished, I would like for a new macro to include all sheets into one PDF file. My problem the finished workbook will have a different number of sheets in it every time.
I am moving some sheets into a new workbook and from the new workbook I want to prompt the user to save the workbook where they see fit. For some reason I cannot seem to save the new workbook only the old with the below code.
Sub Moving Dim wb As Workbook Set wb = ThisWorkbook Sheets( Array("Hk", "Li", _ "SAM")).Select Sheets("SAM").Activate Sheets(Array("Hk", "Li", _ "SAM")).Copy If wb.Saved = False Then Select Case MsgBox("Do you want to save your changes?", vbYesNo Or vbExclamation Or vbDefaultButton1, "J & R Solutions") Case vbYes wb.Close True Case vbNo wb.Close False End Select End If
I have managed to pull together code that does the required task - save two sheets from a work book in to a new workbook on to a dorectory each day. However I woul;d liek to paste special the values and cannot figure our how to reference that on the below:
'saves text file in day on day folder Dim WS As Worksheet, CheminDest As String, fNAME As String 'create directories as needed On Error Resume Next CheminDest = "T:DMRatesReportsChecks" & Year(Date) & ""
I have a workbook with roughly 28 tabs(sheets) and i need to be able to run a macro that will create a new sheet for each tab and name it based on the tab name.
I found several examples on google, but unfortunatly it conflicts with another macro I use for forceing users to enable macros (hide all sheets except one if macros are disabled).
The attached file is an example contaning the save&close code and the show/hide sheets depending on macros enabled.
If the file is opened with macros disabled then only one sheet will be visible. If the file is opened with macros enabled other sheets are visible.
The problem if that this code uses a custom save, witch makes the save&close not save... (in module1 and in ThisWorkbook)
The pourpose of the save&close is to make sure some users don't forget the excel open and thus block access to it. So if a certain idele time passes excel has to save and close without any confirmation messages.
I am using the following code to save a workbook as a macro enable workbook on the selected path as today's date. But it is being saved as a macro free workbook.
Below is the code in module:
Sub save_file() Dim tDate As String Dim FileSaveName As String Dim fPath As String tDate = VBA.Format(DateSerial(Year(Date), Month(Date), Day(Date)), "dd-mm-yyyy") 'FileSaveName = Application.GetSaveAsFilename(InitialFileName:=tDate, filefilter:="Excel Files(*.xlsm),*.xlsm", Title:="Please save the file")
I'm not sure if this is possible but I want to be able to click print and after it has printed, transferred and cleared I would like it to save the purchase order and continuation sheet.
If this is being done on different computers is it possible for it to simply bring up the dialog box and the user save it where they would like? Libby
I want to record a macro (so i can asign it to a button) that saves the workbook to a specific folder. I want the workbook to be saved under a name from a cell in the workbook.
the code below saves it to the correct folder but does not save it under the name typed in cell "I5" (it saves it under "false" now)
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename = "Z:ESTIMATES 2.xls" & Range("I5").Value & ".XLS" End Sub
I have a spreadsheet which has all the names of trips from a warehouse, the day that they operate (1,2,3 etc) and the job line allocated to each trip. It looks something like that:
A B C DAYTRIPCUST
I would like to create a macro that will be creating 7 new workbooks and then in those workbooks as many sheets as the trips. In these sheets, the customers should be displayed.
How do I write it? I could not find how to have a "dynamic choice" in the macro. I.e. not to have the criteria as "1", "trips1" but to choose from the range of inputs that are available.
I want is a Macro that will save the file as .csv, with the same filename and location as the original (just in csv format). A hotkey would be quite handy for this. I tried using the macro recorder and fiddled around with the code a bit but my programming knowledge is quite limited and I ended up with something that doesn't quite work as i'd like. I'm sure this would only take a few seconds to code for an experienced user, which is why I post here. I would post my attempt at doing it myself but i'm on a computer that doesn't have excel at the moment.
I have got a master workbook and I have written macro to copy and paste data on another workbook. write a macro to save the new workbook to a file path with a file name where both file name and path are stored in master workbook sheet...
I need to have a workbook (all of them in a folder, ideally) refresh in the middle of the night. The file is large so the refresh takes a full minute. I know I can't auto refresh a closed workbook (pretty sure anyway), and I can't leave the workbook open for various reasons.
So I'm thinking I could have a macro in an open excel (it kicks off on open) that will open a particular workbook elsewhere (the one I need refreshed), open it, refresh it and close/save it. Ideally it would do this for the entire group of workbooks in the folder but I'd be happy to start with just one. I would like to set it to occur every twelve hours (so at midnight, say, this would occur - I would just have to leave the workbook with the macro in it open on a computer so that it runs and completes this task every night).
I'm looking for a macro that can do the following:
Contact First Name BD Case XXXXXXX Aaron A XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX Abigail C XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Accounts D XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Adam C XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Filter by BD 'C'
Copy all rows containing 'C' to new workbook.
Save new Workbook as 'Mailing C.xls' and close to specific flolder.
I need to save a single sheet to a file (in a workbook of many sheets). I can't use the copy command and then save the new workbook because it truncates the longer info in some cells.
I have 5 Excel files. The first one is Main, and the other 4 are subfiles, namely A1, A2, A3 & A4. I have a need to open Main, then click a button to start a Macro (in Main) which will do the following, sequentially:
1. open A1 2. run a Macro in A1 3. close and save A1. 4. open A2 5. run a Macro in A2 ... 12 close and save A4.
The files A1..A4 are a file server and being shared. If they're being used by another user, it cannot be saved - so I would have to skip it and continue with the next A. It would be great if start Excel, open Main, and run the Macro in Main fully automatically.
i have a macro that deletes 2 sheets. the book starts with two sheets and then gererates more as you use it then at the end when you finnish you push the finnish button and it will get rid of the original two. i dont want to be able to run the macro if there are no other sheets in the workbook apart from the ones that will be deleted.
as this is A) pointless B) not possible................
Working with a macro enabled workbook that has many sheets what would be a good code that would save Sheet1 into a new MACRO enabled workbook so that the 'Buttons' (which are linked to macros) on this specific sheet will be the only macros that will be copied to the new workbook as opposed to the rest of the macros that are found in different sheets?
I'm trying to record a macro that calls up the saveas dialogue and uses a filename from a cell (it's the w/c date). I can start recording the macro, open the dialogue box and copy the contents of the cell but i can't get it to paste as the filname.
What I'm trying to achieve is to allow users of a muli-sheet workbook to be able to click on a 'save' button on any sheet and have the workbook save with a filename which includes the current week commencing date. This way all the weeks changes will be in just one file and from the following monday a new file will be started the the old one left alone as an archive.
I have code to create a new workbook, and when I try to rename it I get "Compile error: Can't assign to read-only property."
Dim objXlApp As Object Dim wkb As Workbook Dim wks As Worksheet Set objXlApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application") ' Create a workbook Set wkb = objXlApp.Workbooks.Add ' Delete all worksheets bar the first one. For Each wks In wkb.Worksheets If Not wks.Index = 1 Then wks.Delete
End If Next wks 'Create some worksheets and names With wkb .Worksheets(1).Name = "myWorksheet1" .Worksheets.Add.Name = "myWorksheet2" .Worksheets.Add.Name = "myWorksheet3" .Worksheets.Add.Name = "myWorksheet4" End With...................................
have seen macros that create a seperate sheet & save by tab number etc, & wonder if its possible to save each sheet in a workbook as the value defined in each sheets cell A2. is there a vb macro available to do that ? if so where ?
Typical user OS will be Windows XP Pro / Win 2K Excel version : 97 / 2002 / 2003
1. Corporate network security settings will only allow directory/subdirectory creation in the “My Documents” section of customers individual computers.
2. Per customer request, VBA application needs to save extracted files for future use.
3. I can specify an initial “My Documents” subdirectory be made and the VBA application file be loaded/copied into that location – i.e. – “My DocumentsCat”.
4. When VBA application is opened from that specified directory, (first time), the application needs to make an additional subdirectory tree to save future files. I can read the opened from location via VBA with the following:
Dim filepath As String filepath = ThisWorkbook.Path As an example – this code would produce a string definition of “filepath” – such as the following:............................
I am using 2007. This may be something simple but I can't seem to find a solution to this, I have an excel macro enabled workbook which produces a daily report the final task is to save and send an email but I need the file to save as an xls rather than xlsx as some of the recipients are unable to open the file here is the code used for the tasks in the
workbook:Sub Step1_Refresh() ' ' Step1_Refresh Macro ' ' ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll End Sub Sub step2_save_close()

I have a macro that opens all workbooks from one directory and runs a macro for each workbook to clean up the data. I cannot figure out how to take all those open workbooks and save them to another directory and close the workbook. Also, I do not want the macro workbook (xlsm) to save. I only want it to close. I am working in 2007 Excel.
I have a macro (see below) that simply formats a sheet for printing. I am currently clicking individually on each sheet in the workbook, and running the macro. Is there a way to have it automatically loop through all the sheets in the workbook?
My current macro is:
Sub Set_Print() ' ' Set_Print Macro ' Application.ScreenUpdating = False
[Code] .......
I have about 10sheets / workbook, and 80 workbooks to do, all saved in the same folder.
