Macro To Save Certain Sheets From Excel Automatically
Jan 22, 2010
I'm not sure if this is possible but I want to be able to click print and after it has printed, transferred and cleared I would like it to save the purchase order and continuation sheet.
If this is being done on different computers is it possible for it to simply bring up the dialog box and the user save it where they would like?

Our company has designed a Excel Document for quoting purposes. The problem we are having is that certain sheets that are needed to do the quote do not need to be used after the quote is finished and saved. These extra worksheets are taking up a lot of room on our server. In the document I have already disabled the save feature so that the saveas has to be used. Is there code that can delete sheets 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 upon doing a save as?

I would like a macro to be able to save 26 tabs within the one document to individual PDFs.Preferably I would like to be able to specify each time exactly which tabs get printed, because often I don't need to print all 26, just the first 10 or so.I would like each PDF to automatically be named with the value in cell E10 of each tab.E10 already has a formula to create its final value. It references cells from other tabs within the same document. Hopefully the fact that this cell has a formula in it won't affect my ability to use the resulting value as a 'save as' reference?I would like it if the PDFs save to the same location as the Excel sheet from which they're generated is located. The location of the excel sheet will change every three months, so I'd prefer not to specify a location with a specific filepath, as it will have changed by the time I run the macro again.
I am using Excel 2010.

I have a script that opens the workbook Excel, and save him as PDF format. But my script saves all sheets in a book. I need to save only sheets with name "Cnt1", "Cnt2" .... "CntX".
Code:
Dim xlObj, objArgs, xlWB, xlSH
Set xlObj = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments
file = objArgs.item(0)
fileToSave = objArgs.item(1)
set xlWB = xlObj.Workbooks.Open(file)
xlWB.ExportAsFixedFormat 0, fileToSave , 0, 1, 0,,,0
xlWB.close False
xlObj.quit

I am trying to make a save&close workbook macro.
I found several examples on google, but unfortunatly it conflicts with another macro I use for forceing users to enable macros (hide all sheets except one if macros are disabled).
The attached file is an example contaning the save&close code and the show/hide sheets depending on macros enabled.
If the file is opened with macros disabled then only one sheet will be visible.
If the file is opened with macros enabled other sheets are visible.
The problem if that this code uses a custom save, witch makes the save&close not save... (in module1 and in ThisWorkbook)
The pourpose of the save&close is to make sure some users don't forget the excel open and thus block access to it. So if a certain idele time passes excel has to save and close without any confirmation messages.

I am using Excel 2007 and have to send monthly payslips to respective email ids. I have the Name and Email ids in Sheet 2 Range B1:C59 , and employee codes in A1:A59. And in Sheet 1 i have the Payslip format which was automatically displayed when i select the employee code from drop down list in the cell E7 in sheet 1.
Every time i manually save the files as PDF and send to their Emails. I want the out put as whenever i select the employee code from drop down list , it should automatically save as PDF with Name of that employee ( Name of the employee is located in B1:B59 in Sheet 2 ) and attachment should automatically go to that employee's email Id.

Sheet one has seperate logs for each item received in January and the reasons they were returned - so if you can imagine ( note / demonstrates column seperation) the following column headings: Date received / item description / approved within 1 day / returned for high risk.
On sheet 2: i've got a simplified data table which tells me that in January, there were 10 occurances of items approved within 1 day; and 8 occurances of items returned for high risk.
So sheet 2 looks like this:
01 Jan 2012 / 31 Jan 2012 / approved within 1 day / returned for high risk
I'm trying to get it so that any data input into sheet 1 for January will automatically update these columns in sheet 2.
This is what i've attempted to do:
what is the sum of the "1's" demonstrating occurances of "approved within 1 day" in sheet 1: Sheet1!J15:J179
if the date received in sheet 1 is between 1 Jan 2012 and 31 jan 2012 sheet 2: TODAY(Sheet1!D15:D179>Sheet2!A14
So at the moment i've got:
=SUMPRODUCT(Sheet1!J15:J179)*TODAY(Sheet1!D15:D179>Sheet2!A14

So, I'm setting up an accounting book. There's a master sheet that needs to pull from the other sheets that are made. The problem is, with each new sheet that is made, I have to update the formulas on the master. I would like that if I made a new sheet, the master would automatically pull from it.
Example:
Master pulls renter fee info from May 3rd, May 7th
I create sheet (May 15th)
Master pulls renter info from May 3rd, May 7th, May 15th

We have 3 PCs, all running MS Office 2013. On 1 of these machines, it is doing strange things with formatting. If you open a document or try to paste anything into certain documents, it decides everything is currency format and assigns all sorts of wrong formatting to the entire sheet, or the entire document. There may be some cells in the doc that are indeed currency, but only a small proprtion. If I open a new, fresh document and paste into that document, it does not do this, it seems to work normally, only applying currency formatting where it might be applicable. On some larger docs that have this issue, no matter what I do, it just continues to apply these strange settings.

I am trying to further automate the process of formatting my financial statements and am hoping someone might get me on the right track here. Currently I create 2 sheets, one called "MMM YYYY" (i.e. month year) and another called "General Ledger".
The process I am currently doing manually is creating a link between each line item on the financial statement and its GL account information on the General Ledger tab.
The description of each line item on the financial statement (the MMM YYYY tab) matches the GL account description on the General Ledger tab with the exception that the GL account description starts with the GL account number and then the description.
For example the "Utilities" line item on the financial statement needs to link to a line on the General Ledger tab that is "7071-45 Utilities".
In my mind I see the macro saying go to the next line and read what it says. Now go to the General Ledger tab and look for something that says the same thing excluding any preceeding numbers and make a hyperlink.
If it helps, I've uploaded a sample of one of the statements as I currently do them with the hyperlinks already set up. There are not any macros in this spreadsheet. If you'd like to take a look at it, you can get it here: ....

I need to create a macro that will allow me to save a PDF from an XL file I am creating by running a report out of Access. This report yields a workbook with 2 sheets in it. The first tab (sheet) called "Mishkon" and the second called "Women's League". I need to save these reports separately as PDFs and they need to be saved in seperate locations. The first sheet (Mishkon) needs to be saved here: \OSOFSDataDayHabMishkon . The second sheet needs to be saved here: \OSOFSDataDayHabWomen's League . Here is the twist... Both sheets need to take their name from their G3 cells. I have Excel 2010 and dont want to print from my Adobe PDF printer. I would like to save as a PDF so I can run it off of computers that dont have the Adobe PDF printer installed.

I presently have a macro that, when run, takes to conents of C4 and C6 and saves a new version of the file being worked on into a folder on my desktop. I love the macro with the exception of one part: I don't want to be prompted to overwrite the file if it already exists. How can I change this macro so that, when pressed, it overwrites the file without prompting the user and waiting for their answer?
Here is the current

i.e.

Daily OST -- 2012-08-11
Daily OST -- 2012-08-12
etc...
This is what is currently in the macro but all it gives me is the first part "Daily OST --". How to fix?

I recorded a macro to save my file as PDF and assigned the macro to a button. Easy. Now I would like to change my macro to pause when the file is saving to allow the user to enter a file name. If that is not possible, I'd like to reference a cell to use as the file name. I have gone through other posts and tried changing my macro, but always get an error. I am using Excel 2010. Following is my code for saving to pdf.

I am using the macro below to save a file. It works with the extension .xlsx but not xlsm. I get a message that I can't use this extension for this file type. I am missing something fundamental.
Using Excel 2010
Sub testsave()'
Dim a As String
Dim b As String
Dim c As String
Dim d As String
b = "Myyfile"
c = b & ".xlsm"
a = ThisWorkbook.Path
d = a & "" & c
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:=d
End Sub
FYI - there are no macros in the file I am trying to save.

A certain macro (or is it a VB script?) in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet has to be manually recalculated every time I open the file. The only way I've found to do this is to click in the formula bar and hit Enter, or else click the green check mark to accept the formula. The spreadsheet is set to recalculate automatically, so I do not understand why this is happening.
Another wrinkle is that I can't locate the specification/definition of the macro. I checked the Developer menu on the ribbon and looked in the Visual Basic and Macros lists, but could not see the definition of the macro in question. Another user created the spreadsheet but I am unable to contact him...
