and wish to use formulae similar to MAXIF and MINIF to find the last date and the first date of Paypal transactions (for example) if I have just the word "Paypal" in cell D1
I've tried
=SUMPRODUCT(MAX(($B$1:$B$7=$D$1)*$A$1:$A$7))
but obviously this is looking for exact match of "Paypal"
I have successfully used a wildcard in SUMIF functions elsewhere...
eg, $D$1 & "*"
but for some reason
=SUMPRODUCT(MAX(($B$1:$B$7=$D$1 & "*")*$A$1:$A$7))
does not work
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have following problem I have some table - 2 columns - in first is text in second is value.

if it is possiable to do a find function to find the lowest value in a colum and then output that entire row. e.g a list of dates, I need to know what is the oldest date and what row that is for reference.

I would like to automatically add a 1 in an adjoining column when the cell is green (eg outstanding) or zero when they are despatched so that it totals up the number of outstanding orders.

I'm using the code described down below to highlight 5 of the lowest values in a column. The problem; If at a certain moment the column contains less then 5 values the code errors, so I've to put in a lot of error handlers to fix the problem.

Actually i want it to reduce others with lowest number among them.. and after every empty cell, it should find the lowest number again and reduce it from others.. this should repeat until the column data completes. after processing it should find as below

I have been assigned a task of finding the lowest cost of four possible solutions however I have quite an extensive list of items to work with. To make this easier, I need to be able to find the lowest cost in my row (which is not sorted by lowest to highest value) and return the column heading associated with that lowest cost.

need to understand the easiest way of highlighting the highest and lowest number in a range of cells several times in the same column.
As I said the cell range will be in the same column. So highlight the highest number green and lowest number red in cells a3 to a9 and then repeat the same process again in cells a11 to a17 and so on.the cell references are an example.

I need a formula to calculate the amount due based on cumulative sales once a breakpoint amount is reached.

Im trying to set up an active running inventory sheet where: (A)the progressive daily sheet cells reference back to the corresponding master sheet cells fluctuating the master values, (B) the same progressive daily sheet cells reference back to a cummulative totals-cell based on whether I added or subtracted inventory. I want to make a copy of the blank "sheet 2" with all of the formulas and move it to the end of the workbook each day and enter new values which will reference back to the master sheet so that I can click on a date sheet and see an individual day's values or click on the master sheet to see the fluctuating inventory on-hand and the cummulative +/- totals of all days combined. I've got a couple hundred individual cells to reference. I've tried and tried but I can't make it work. Heres what I need to do:
I need to reference individual cells from "sheet 2,3,etc" back to a corresponding cell in a master sheet. But I need the values in each cell in "sheet 2,3,ETC" to increase or decrease the corresponding cell values in the master sheet. For example: If the value in the master sheet B5 is 200. Then in sheet 2, I enter +50 in B5, I need the master sheet cell B5 to increase by 50 to 250. I also need a way to decrease the cell value in the master sheet B5 if I enter a negative value -50 in sheet 2 B5. I also want to know if I can reference the same cell values entered in "sheet 2,3,etc cell B5" back to totals columns C5 for adding inventory or D5 for subtracting inventory in the master sheet where the master totals columns would reflect cummulative totals added or subtracted. For example: if the value in sheet 2 B5 is +50, then the value in Master sheet C5 would add 50 to a progressive total. But if the value in sheet 2 B5 is -50 then the value in master sheet D5 would add -50 to a progressive total.

This code working, but it end up value to 3712.00 instead of 3712 only. I do not want cell to display additional zero's.

Eg.

So that in the sheet next to it it would appear:

The dates don't appear in row order and the sheet has a filter on it so I am unable to select the Col H and just use COUNTA
If the value in Column H changes then move the value from it's original location which would be either in J, K or L from there to the column corresponding with the value in H (reference 1=J, 2=K, 3=L).
So, in the file, if H3 were to be changed to Priority 3 then I want the value to move from J3 to L3 and if it were to be changed to Priority 2 then I want the value to move from J3 to K3. The formula needs to work on all variations ie priority 2 changing to 1 or 3 for the whole sheet. There is conditional formatting - would be nice to keep it but no big deal.
My Column P (Payback) has amounts ranging from negative to positive. In one of my calculations, I would like to use the first amount in Column P that is positive.
Depending upon scenario, sometimes this could be P4 other times it might be P17
I have a worksheet where
Column D lists a service offered by a business, such as IMC, TC, Respite, etc
Column M lists how long the customer has used this service for in weeks, such as 4,5,3.5,6 etc
What I would like to do in another column is to count the number of clients who have used the service for 6 weeks or more broken down by the service type i.e. Count how many people have used IMC for 6 weeks or more.
If possible I would also like to be able to count those who have used a service for between 5.1. and 5.9 weeks too, again by service i.e. Count how many people have used IMC for between 5.1. and 5.9 weeks.
