Paste Special Skip Blanks Not Working

Apr 3, 2014

We have a document template set up in excel which we have to use to accompany documents/drawings issued to customers. I have a macro set up to copy the cells required in the template and create a new tab with our company reference as the tab name, then copy and paste the relevant data into the log.

We could be issuing one or up to 10 documents at the same time to the customer, therefore there are between 1 and 10 rows which could contain data. Due to this, when pasting to the log, I have asked the macro to choose the next available row and paste as values and skip blanks.

However, when there are blanks on the template, it is copying all these cells and I am being left with lots of blank rows in the log. Is there anything I can do to correct it?

When I right-click and paste special, it gives me a new window with an array of options but not the standard Paste special value screen. I have used the others in the past and just pasted text. However this does not give me the paste transpose option which is what I need.

I am sure this is a User error where there is something about the way that I am copying this information but I am Drawing a Blank...

Sign Flip Macro To Skip Blanks

Jul 11, 2007

I have been using this macro, which works perfect:

Sub Signflip()
Dim cell As Range
For Each cell In Selection
If IsNumeric(cell.Value) Then cell.Value = -cell.Value
Next cell
End Sub

It allows me to select cells and flip from neg to pos, pos to neg, and it won't error out on text cells. Great little macro.

However, I don't like how it puts a zero in blank cells. It slows down the macro when I select large areas. Is there a way to make this macro work the same way but skip over empty or blank cells and not enter a zero.

Excel Macro To Copy Data From Array And Paste To Separate Sheet Paste Special Transpose

Jan 29, 2014

I would like to implement specific cell ranges from two specific worksheets each within 33 workbooks (which all have several tabs) into a summary page in a separate workbook.

The cell ranges are going across my spreadsheet in rows and I would like for them to transpose into a columns depending on the data which I have separated by catergory on the summary page. They are all on the same location in each workbook which is separated by country. The cell ranges are E26:P37 and I would like to transpose them and have them put below eachother without overwriting for my format on the summary page, how I can put this together in a macro?

Paste Can This Be Set To Default To Paste Special Values

Mar 17, 2007

Paste can this be set to default to Paste Special Values only ?

I have a sheet with a number of lists validated drop down boxes. The sheet is networked and works fine.

Problem other users as they are entering information into the required cells they are copying and pasting. Then the inevitable occurs they paste data into the wrong cells the validation from the original cell is pasted as well. Is there a way I can set paste special values only to be the default for the full sheet.

Unfortunately we use excel 97 in the office.

Sumproduct Not Working On Blanks?

Oct 27, 2012

I am using the following formula :

=SUMPRODUCT(--('Fleet Dumps'!P6:P400+'Fleet Dumps'!K6:K400E1+E2))

This works fine as long as there is data in the ranges 6:400 when there is not in come cells it returns #VALUE, in the ranges ther is a lookup such as :

=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(L6,$B$7:$C$9,2,FALSE)),"",VLOOKUP(L6,$B$7:$C$9,2,FALSE))

So not sure if that is causing it.

Private Sub Workbook_SheetChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range)
'If you have any worksheet to exclude

If Len(.Value) Len(Trim(.Value)) Then

Application.EnableEvents = False
.Value = Trim(.Value)
Application.EnableEvents = True
End If
End With
End Sub

If Len(.Value) Len(Trim(.Value)) Then
That is, if I select C3:Q3, Copy, then select C10:C15 and try to do a Paste Special that is when it gives me an error 13: Type mismatch.

If I just select C10 and do the Paste Special, it's just fine.

Vba: Doing Paste Special | Add

May 4, 2007

I am trying to write a VBA code which will add any figure (say X) to the visible cells in the selected range. I am mentioning the visible part becuase my data might be filtered and thus. So far I have been able to figure out the following code(by recording a macro and then going behind the scenses to see the code):

Sub Add_X()
Selection.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible).Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteAll, Operation:=xlAdd, SkipBlanks:= _
False, Transpose:=False[/color]
End Sub

The problem is that how can (if possible) I can pass a parameter to the above code (which will be X; as explained above). There might be many possible solutions??? However one that comes to mind is that when I selected a range of cells and then run my code, a dialog box should pop-up and ask for a # and then then take that # to add it to the visible cells of the selected range.
