Dec 9, 2006I have imported a jpeg graphic and it appears in excel as a black box. What can i do to rectify this?

Excel 2010 :: Paste Picture Into Small Picture / Diagram Box?
Mar 19, 2012In Excel 2010, is there any way to paste a picture into a small picture/diagram box, and upon double clicking the picture it would explode to a larger size? And I guess double clicking it again would make it return to its original (smaller) size. I would be pasting several pictures into several different picture/diagram boxes and would need this to be a relative reference so that upon selection it explodes the appropriate picture?

We have a series of reports which all have the same template, however we don't want some customers to be able to see some of the products as these are own-label products for which aren't offered to everyone.
I'd like to add this as a macro to a combo-box so that the user can view a report for their customer and then send a copy to the customer with the knowledge they won't see anything we don't want them to...

Jul 1, 2013I have a daily spreadsheet tracking sales. When I copy the cells to a new spreadsheet, alternate rows are filled with black. Even after selecting the black filled rows, I am unable to eliminate the black. I would simply like to "duplicate" the existing workbook. How can this be accomplished.

Now I am looking for a way to count the number of points that have been turned blue. Some times the text in the whole cell is turned blue, others just one or two of the points is turned blue.

1) Copying the chart into Presentations and then exporting as either .png or .jpg
2) Exporting the image as an HTML page and then right-clicking on the image to copy-paste it elsewhere. This winds up as a .gif.
Format doesn't matter. No matter how I export it it always has the black around the "meat" of the chart. Thus all the axis information is destroyed (i.e. date and price)

Mar 17, 2009I am putting together a price list in excel and using images and hyperlinks to jazz it up a bit - what I am finding is that if I insert a 25KB GIF image, the excel file grows in size by over 100KB
why is this disproportionate growth happening and is there a way around it - I dont want my Price List growing too large but need the images....?

Mar 23, 2014I want to paste/show a photo in a particular cell (D2) on a worksheet (called PP). I wish to delete any photo that may already be there in D2.
The picture's name (e.g. J-145.jpg) will be found in another sheet (called MP) in cell H1.
My pictures are stored in a folder (lets call it c:pictures) and the one I want has the same name (J-145.jpg).
I've tried many macros but none work.

I've noticed that if the Green color value is higher, excel is more likely to use the black text. If Blue is high, white. Green takes precedence over Blue and Red is just kind of in its own world.how excel calculates this?

Name Appears Instead Of The Employee ID

I have a spreadsheet that lists each employees hours for the last 4 pay periods...each is in it's own row I am trying to find out their average.
I am using the subtotal function to average their hours and that works fine. BUT...my boss doesn't want to see 4 rows for each person. He just wants to see one row for each person and when I collapse the rows, it only shows the employee's ID, not the name (because that's what I told the subtotal function to do...add subtotal after every change in employee ID).

Jun 20, 2008I would like to have a list of names in column A1 Smith, A2 Jones, A3 Johnson etc. Everytime someones name appears in E1-E20 I would like the adjacent column next to that persons name to turn red. Example: I type Smith in E14 -> B1 turns red. If it's not too complicated it would be good if excel could recognize the name in any font,capitols etc.
Lastly if I could have a pop up appear if a persons name appears more than once in column E that would be great. Example type Smith in E1 and then when I type smith in E4 pop appears--Name already used once do you want to continue?
Warning Sometimes Appears
Oct 24, 2007I have an Excel file that contains macros that I made. Sometimes when I open the file I do not get prompted to enable macros. I DO want to get prompted so I can enable the macros. Any idea why this happens? By the way, my macro security is greyed out so I cannot change it.
