I found this formula and it works great, but I need to count only items with black font. We use red font to identify lost items so don't want to count them as part of our inventory.

My macro works fine but I'm interested in seeing if I can speed it up. What I'm doing is starting at the bottom and comparing it with the row above and if they match in font color it will fill the top with orange and delete the bottom. This works but usually takes several minutes.
Public Sub ADMINCompareList()
Dim varTest1, varTest2
Dim lng As Long, i As Integer, iTest As Integer
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Worksheets("ADMIN").Activate
For lng = ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count To 2 Step -1
If Not Range("M" & lng).Font.Color <> Range("M" & lng - 1).Font.Color Then
Goto newrow
End If
varTest1 = Intersect(Range("J:W"), Rows(lng))
varTest2 = Intersect(Range("J:W"), Rows(lng - 1))

I'm looking to set up a spreadsheet whereby individuals answer questions and have to format their answer using a particular font, colour, font size and so on. The idea is that I can then compare their answer sheet to a pre completed one using an =IF function and get a total score. The only problem is =if and =exact only lookup cell text/numbers and don't look at how the text is formatted within them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a daily spreadsheet tracking sales. When I copy the cells to a new spreadsheet, alternate rows are filled with black. View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have this code for counting commas in each cell in range giving me the total number of different points in the entire row. Here's the link to the original question as well.
Code:
Sub Totals()
Dim X As Long, Count As Variant
Sheets("App Communication").Select
For X = 3 To 59
Count = UBound(Split(Application.Trim(Replace(Replace(Application.Trim(Join(Application. _

Cells(X, "BJ").Value = Left(Count, CLng(Count))
Next
End Sub
Now I am looking for a way to count the number of points that have been turned blue. Some times the text in the whole cell is turned blue, others just one or two of the points is turned blue.
When I return to a sheet by clicking on the tab of the sheet, the sheet is not immediately visible. When the sheet does become visible a cell has a black flashing background. Sometimes, but not always, the flashing cell is the activecell. Through the activate event of the sheet I attempt to make $A$1 the active cell:

I have a document that has 634 rows, some rows with data in red and some rows with data in black. I only want the rows with data in red. How do I get rid of all the rows with data in black all at once? I don't want to go through the document line by line.
View 2 Replies View Relatedexporting the charts from Excel.
1) Copying the chart into Presentations and then exporting as either .png or .jpg
2) Exporting the image as an HTML page and then right-clicking on the image to copy-paste it elsewhere. This winds up as a .gif.
Format doesn't matter. No matter how I export it it always has the black around the "meat" of the chart. Thus all the axis information is destroyed (i.e. date and price)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a table with a range A1:C6
If B1 is “hello” I want B1:B6 background to change to green, and text to stay black
But if B3 is “goodbye” I want this to override the above and make B1:B6 background white and text colour of B1:B2 and B4:B6 white (so the text in these cells seems to disappear).
When I try to copy formulas across do I get a little black plus-sign in the lower right corner of the cell, when I point to it. I can then drag the plus-sign to the the area where I want to copy the formula. This plus-sign has now disappeared.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi want to searh from data sheet by writing a formule to black area.
We will write id number to yellow area.
When we write value to yellow area, the formule in black are will look column of " d ".
If it is " machinery" or " with lifting point " , the formule will search only according to id number.
If it is " lifting gear ", the formule will search according to id number and capacity simultaneously. And the value will be come up in black area from column of "a".
If there is no id number in data sheet, " no certificate no" will come up im black area.
creating breaks in the line this script now simply turns the line black.

So I have been playing around with the tab colors on my workbook and am trying to figure out the correlation between color brightness and the auto change from black text to white text. I've noticed that if the Green color value is higher, excel is more likely to use the black text. If Blue is high, white. Green takes precedence over Blue and Red is just kind of in its own world.how excel calculates this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a formula in 1 conditional format rule. The goal is to check if al cel contains "1" or "Z". If the value is "1" the cell must turn black and if it is "Z" it turns red.
If this is not possible, I'd like to only turn it black.
I am not able to use vba and have only 1 conditional formatting rule left in my excel 2003 sheet.
how to create an if statement based on font properties.
I did a couple searches on "conditional formatting" but didn't find anything, and it seems like the only way would be through a macro, am i correct? I'd much rather be able to do this on a formula sheet if possible.
Somehow my tab names (in 2003) have a very small font size. How do I return the size to normal?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my Excel set up for a default font size of 12 point.
I often download CSV data to insert into spreadsheets. It opens in a new spreadsheet, and it's properly displayed in 12 point size. When i copy and paste it into the ultimate target spreadsheet (which is also set to 12 point size) the pasted data shows up as 10-point and I have to change the font size back to 12-point every time.
Why is this happening and how can I avoid that re-sizing that occurs?
I am building up a formatted invoice, line by line all of which is working well from the data point of view but no quite so well from the presentation point.
My text is all in Arial 12pt and I have the row height set to "Auto" and cell alignment to wrap text (at least one cell per row often has 3-4 lines of text so I need "text wrap" on)
My issue is that the printed output from a multi row invoice looks "crowded" and as this is the view the client gets to see (and hopefully pay ) the look is important. I tried to set the row heights to say .71cm but that causes the text wrap to stop working correctly.
I think I am trying to get some form of "inside top" and "inside bottom" adjustment / fill / padding (which is what I would do if I was using some form of documentation tool like Madcap Flare for example) but I cannot see how to do it in excel.
This probably sounds really weird, but does anyone know whether the size of the text in Cell A1 on Sheet 1 can be linked to the size of the text in Cell B2 on Sheet 2? Like, when I change the size of Cell A1's text, is there a way to have the size of Cell B2's text change as well?
