I'm trying to count how many production orders i have per week. However, there are duplicated production orders per week. I only want to count how many unique orders there are for each week. I only see the ability to "Count", which counts my duplicates as well so it over inflates my true quantity.
View 3 RepliesI am looking for a way to extract all of the unique items in a Pivot Table. For example, I have a Pivot Table that has category A items and category B items. There may be several B items to one A. For example:

Now, what I need is a list that looks like this:

A1 - B3
A1 - B4

Formatted so that those are two columns. However, in Excel 2007, I cannot set the option to have it repeat the A series items in the Pivot table. Is there some easier way to do this?

Would like to know the number of unique customers (CUST_ID) have purchases and the sum of those purchases and how many transactions:

I cant seem to find how to do unique Cust using a pivot table - it just gives me a count of cust which is the same number as the number of transactions.
The pivot table has only two columns, the first is the identification number and the second is the count of the identification number. I am trying to get a count of the number of identification numbers, not how many times it was entered in the spreadsheet (some numbers are entered more than once on different days). It currently looks like:

I'm trying to arrive at 5 for the answer, so that each number is only counted once even if used more than once.

I have a spreadsheet with several records for each person's name.
I want to have pivot tables based on various columns, with the data field being a count of unique occurrences of a person's name.
When I set up a basic Pivot, it counts each occurence of the person's name.
I have a worksheet with a list of employees and the workgroup they belong to, along with other data like manager, start dates, etc. Recently a couple of the workgroups were duplicated (change in managers), so these employees are showing up on two rows even though the workgroup has the same name. The only differences in the two rows are the workgroup effective start and end dates. I need to be able to count, in a pivot table, the number of unique employee/workgroup combinations there are per workgroup. I can add columns to the sheet, but it's a dynamic set of data that will grow each time it's refreshed...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a pivot table that will count how many employees have completed a Learning Plan. This task becomes complex (for me) because each learning plan has multiple Courses, each Course has a status of "Completed" or "Incomplete". A Learning Plan would only be considered "Completed" if all the courses within that Learning Plan were completed. In doing some research, it looks like I'll need to create another column of data, that shows per employee, per Learning Plan, if the entire Learning Plan has been completed, but I'm not sure of the best way to go about this. I was reading something about doing the count (so it shows 4) and then doing an index within the count but I keep just getting 1 as the value (for both months).
I tried doing a formula in the document that said =IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A2,$A$1:A15,0)),1,0). basically looking to see if the name is above the location I am looking at and if it is to put a 0 if not put 1 and then do a sum of that column....trouble is that when a customer has orders on more than one month, the second month is coming up with a 0 instead of a 1 (and this happens quite often).
I am not sure what to do. if the customer shows up in more than one month I want them to count towards the unique count of both january and february...we look at each month separately.
I have data set up like the example but then for 1797 lines.

I need to count the unique for a customer. The areas to be counted are separated by blank lines. At present, I am using sumproduct(1/countif(range1,range1), to count the unique items. This formula works perfectly except that it takes me almost an hour to do this for all the measurements. Is there a macro that can provide me with the same results -- putting the same values where I am presently have the formulas (the cells that before the blank lines)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy pivot table file is currently 12.7 MB and I need to get it much smaller so I can email it and it still be functional with the data.
I have tried right clicking on the pivot table, going to PivotTable Options, clicking on the data tab, unchecking the 'save source data with file' box, and checking the 'refresh data when opening file' box. This shrunk the file perfectly but when i email the file the Pivot Table was unusable because there was no data to back up the function.
The Error messages I got were 'Cannot open PivotTable source file'..... and 'Pivot Table report was saved without the underlying data. Use the Refresh Data command to update the report'. When I click on Refresh Data I still get the same error message.
Any way I can make this File smaller and still functional.
if there was a way I can put it in to some kind of pivot table, because the hardest part for people when they read his list is it's so large it's hard to find data easily.
So this is how he formatted his data... I was wondering what would be the best way to get this list in to a possible pivot table. This is a consilidated example, there are plenty more columns, but this will give you an idea of my problem.

Now, the only thing I can think of is to make columns, but then I'd have to recopy all the task names (which there is about 700) for each of the different years (A= Actual, B= Budget, F= Forecast). Is there any other way that you can think of to do this with out making it so complicated? Any help or suggestions would be great. I really want some format that allows you to click the total and it goes to what makes up that total.
My company has a catalog of ~6000 unique SKUs that we sell online. Currently we do not have a way to quickly determine how much a given item has sold month over month, and the rate of that change.
I have an excel workbook full of our last year's worth of sales data. I have organized it by placing each month of data in its own worksheet. I would like to be able to create a search box that will allow us to enter in a product ID, and have excel then create a graph with each month's of sales for that particular item. Is that clear?
I have a set of 5,800+ data points between 0 and 1 that I would like to multiply together. When I use PRODUCT for the whole set, the formula returns 0. However, I can use a smaller subset of the data to return a very small number. I'm curious if Excel has a closest-number-to-0 or number-of-cells-for-PRODUCT limitation. Is there another way to perform this calculation?

My nose says this is what a pivot table should do but there are too many sales prices and the pivot table craps out. How do I get them into ranges as above and then count them?
we use # of days per disbursement as a performance measure to ensure that we are providing out grantees with the appropriate amount of service. I keep a tracking chart that I manage with overseas partners that use these dates to prioritize the 30+ grantees in their portfolio at any given time. It would be great if this # of days to disbursement #1, disbursement #2, etc could automatically pull to show them who they have neglected.
"Sheet 1" = Overview sheet to see general information (where I'm trying to pull to)
"Sheet 2" = table to track information as the disbursements or other actions are processed per grant
Column A (on both sheets) gives the grant reference
Column B (data entry sheet) gives the date the payment was sent
When I do =SMALL(('Sheet2'!B:B),2), I get the 2nd smallest in the whole sheet, but then when I try to make an IF function to tie it to the specific grant...
=IF('Sheet2'!A:A,A2,SMALL(('Sheet2'!B:B),2)) --> this gives me a 1905 date
I've tried a bunch of different formulas and tried reformatting the dates... but I'm having very little success...
I have a problem and I can't figure out how to do this, I have tried using both macros and functions (INDEX for example). The problem is as follows, I have a dataset of 27 worksheets, each worksheet has between 30k and 60k of rows and 25 columns. They are set up as follows:

It is basically impossible to do this by hand, each of the 27 worksheet has between the 3000 and 6000 firms and each firm has 57 variables (these are identical for all firms). Also the the firm names and the variable names are in the same column, these should be seperated as well (they are connected with a hyphen).
I am looking to calculate variance across a large data set and would like to know if a macro is possible to calculate for a specific unique cell ID. East, Central, or West and calculate variance across that region.
For instance, in my data set if I have something similar to below. How would I calculate variance in the different regions? Is it possible to automate this process? Also could the Analysis ToolPAk be used instead or in conjunction?

I used =SUBSTITUTE(CELL," ","") to remove the space in the first value: Works fine
I am trying to remove the 2nd occurence of the - in the second value: Desired Result 6A-6156A
And how I may be able to complete both within one formula.
