Place Month Of Date Cell On Another Worksheet

Feb 6, 2008

I have two workbooks, one a database that accumulates data over time, and the other a monthly report that needs to be populated based on information from the database. When moving data between the two, the following works fine (snipped a lot for ease of reading):

Workbooks.Open (database) ', Password:= /
Workbooks(reportbook). Sheets("Sheet1"). Range("A1").Value = month(Cells(282, 5))

As you can see, it simply puts the month from a cell in the database into the report workbook. However, if I change Range("A1") to Cells(1,1) I get a runtime error:

Workbooks.Open (database) ', Password:= /
Workbooks(reportbook).Sheets("Sheet1").Cells(1, 1).Value = month(Cells(282, 5))

I can generally work around this issue by changing the active workbook, but doing so is a big pain. Is there any way to use the second bit of code without popping an error message?

Date/Time Formula: Pick Up A Date With Time Entry On A Worksheet And Place It Into A TextBox On A UserForm

Jun 17, 2006

I am attempting to pick up a date with time entry on a worksheet and place it into a TextBox on a UserForm. Format on the sheet is mm/dd/yyyy h:mm AM/PM. The UserForm is placing the value as mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM. here is the

Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
If Not Range("dDate").Value = "" Then
TextBox2.Value = Range("dDate").Value
TextBox2.Text = Format(DateValue(TextBox2.Text), "mm/dd/yy h:mm AM/PM")
Else
TextBox2.Value = ""
TextBox2.SetFocus
End If
End Sub

"dDate" is the named range where the date is sitting. The format is also set on the TextBox2 exit event. Can anyone see why only the date portion is being transfered with the default 12:00 AM for no time component of the value?

Place Date Stamp In Cell Comment Using VBA?

May 30, 2014

My goal on the form is simply that when you click the check-box, it will highlight the cell green and place the date in the cell comment, and then clear the comment and color when unchecked.

I have been successful with the exception that I can only place text in the comment, but not a date stamp or even a reference to a hidden cell. I accomplished a date stamp command on a button with "Sheets("Sheet1").Range("Q5").Value = Date" but am unable to do this in a comment.

Below is what I have currently. I know it is not clean to look at, but that is how I found it and didn't want to create more variables for troubleshooting

Private Sub CheckBox1_Change()
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("Q4").ClearComments
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("Q4").Interior.Color = RGB(255, 255, 255)

[Code]....

I came across a couple results that seemed promising, but the code seemed to have a different syntax and I couldn't make it work with my VBA newbie skill level (started yesterday).

IF Date Formula: IF Formula, That States If A Date Is More Than A Month After The Date In The Cell Then It Is Timely

Jun 2, 2006

I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.

Worksheet That Includes A Cell That Gives The Current Week Of The Month

Nov 3, 2009

I have a worksheet that includes a cell that gives the current week of the month, in the form of "Week #". I've been using the formula below for several months and have had no issues until this month, and it's driving me crazy.

Given that cell D2 is the beginning of the week (usually Monday, but at the first of the month it may be a different day):

="Week " & ROUNDUP((DAY($D$2)+WEEKDAY(DATE(YEAR($D$2),MONTH($D$2),0)))/7,0)
I'm not sure where the logic is going wrong here; it's worked so well up until now. For the week beginning November 2, 2009, the formula above returns "Week 2" rather than "Week 1".

Month Serial Without Date In Cell

Jan 13, 2007

That is what my spreadsheet looks like. I have about 130 in the sheet I'm working on now. A is my date cell, B is my total for that date, C is the cell I have made for the =Month(serial_number). The problem i'm having is how do I get it to not put a number in my "C" cell when there isn't a month present?

This sheet will change weekly, so I've went down to 300 with my month formula. When entering the formula in the cells that do not have the month, it automatically inserts a 1 that throws the count off for my entire sheet. How can I leave the code for my month in without having it add a number when there's no month?

Date Range Formula: Beginning Of Month To End Of Month (which Is In The Current Row)

Mar 20, 2009

Column A: Date/time (at 30 minute intervals)
Column B: Numeric data

On the last row of each month, Iím trying to perform a SumProduct on the two columns and display that result in column C.

The end of the range is determined by the month in the current row.

Iím having difficulty finding the beginning of the range, though. I need to account for both the normal dynamic calendar days & the fact that I may get data starting mid-day and mid-month.

I have this formula, but Iím not sure how to make the first array dynamic or if this is even correct approach.

Dates - Show Month Only, And Actually Be The Month Only (not Just Format The Date)

Using If, Extract Data From One Worksheet And Place In Another

May 1, 2006

I am trying to create a basic order history in excel from orders generated on our limited ERP system. I have exported the data required and imported to excel, but due to the export limitations, I can only export certain fields at a time.
This means that I have to create three sheets for all the data I require.

The first sheet has the bulk of the data and is now nicely collumned. However, I cannot get both the customer code and full customer name on the same sheet due to the aforementioned limitations.
Sheet 1 has customer code and other data, sheet 2 has customer code plus full customer name.

I have created a collumn for the customer name on sheet 1 (A3) next to the customer code (A2)

Basically, what I am trying to get it to do is as follows:
In "A3" I need to create a formula that states that if A2 contains a certain customer code, then look in sheet 2, match the code and place the full customer name for that code. Bearing in mind that we have over 395 customer codes in use, so asking for a specific code to lookup would be as time consuming as entering the codes manually.
