Refresh Worksheet Blank VLookup

Is there such a thing call refresh worksheet?
cos my formulas don't display correctly unless you go to that formula and press 'enter' key

Excel 2010 :: VLookup Result Blank If Column Index Number Is Blank

The below piece of code carries out a vlookup on a defined cells value and produces a result in sheet one, however if the column index number in sheet 2 (Database) is empty the result 00/01/1900 is produced.

I'm not sure how to say leave the result blank if the column index number is blank.

Excel 2010
Userform = Tab 1
Database = Tab 2

Avoid Blinking While Refresh Worksheet?

When I click a button on a Sheet, Certain data is copied from another sheet and paste in active sheet. While this action is taken place, whole sheet is refreshed and the image and a data is blinking for a second.

Do we have an option to avoid that blinking ?

Open Worksheet - Refresh And Close

I have a batch script which runs the following line to open my excel sheet:

start m:exportad.xls

when this sheet opens it automatically refreshes from a csv file.

The problem is that I want this sheet to open, refresh and close. To close Excel I have been using the taskkill command in my batch script, but I have found that using this method doesn't update the sheet properly - the sheet only updates properly if I close Excel in the correct way, but this means manual input and I want this to be automatic.

Worksheet Refresh Clears Clipboard

I have written a spreadsheet for scheduling employee shifts.

My problem is that I have written some calculations in on the Worksheet_Change subroutine.

What happens is when I want to copy a selection and paste it multiple times, it clears my active selection's "Copied" status whenever I paste.

I'm not sure if I'm explaining it clearly, but if I copy a selection (it turns the typical selected colors with the dashed border), go to the first destination, and paste, the spreadsheet then refreshes the total hours columns, which clears the "copied" status of the original range.

I was thinking of checking the clipboard contents to see if it contains an excel range, and putting it back in the clipboard after the spreadsheet updates.

I'd like to know how to check the clipboard contents, or if anyone else can think of a different way to circumvent this,

VLOOKUP - If Table Array Is Blank Need It To Return Blank?

I am creating a tracking spreadsheet where i can toggle between months (attached). It returns data properly when I select January or February from the yellow highlighted dropdown list. However, when i choose March, it returns 1/0/1900 because no data has been entered for March (table array) on the AAAG tab. How do I write the formula to return a blank cell on the summary sheet when no information has been entered into the table array yet?

Refresh All Pivot Tables On Worksheet When Cell Changes

I have a dashboard that I created that is driven off one source of data. I have several lists and pivots created from that single source. I have two cells that are driven off of lists that then drive the pivot table. When a user selects an item from the drop down list I would like the pivot table to update. I have two tables like this on the main dashboard. Once the user selects the first data point, the table refreshs as does the second drop down list. After they select the second data point, the second privot table will refesh. Manually everything works prefectly, but when I attempt to automate it with VBA, it will only update the initial pivot and the secondary list, but not the second pivot.

I have posted the current code below.

"SelDept1" and "Wave" are the two cells that contain the drop down lists.

Pivot Refresh After ODBC Query Complete Refresh

I have a query with ODBC connection to a SQL database. This query's parameter is linked to a cell. The resultant data is the source for a pivot table. I want to refresh the pivot table, when the query is run. I've tried using the cell that triggers the query....but the problem is that the query takes about 10 seconds to run. By the time the query returns new data....the pivot has already refreshed. I need it to refresh AFTER the query is complete.

I tried adding a cell that sums up the data from the query...thinking when THAT changes (due to updated data), to trigger the pivot refresh. Problem is that I don't know the trigger for when the sum cell changes (ie....formula change, not typed in.)

i have an excel spreadsheet with 27 or so workeets. it contains sales figures in it.
I want to be able to link mutiple cells of this workbook to another workbook so that it retreives that data, So that when I hit the refresh (!) button it will automatically put the data in. I will recieve new sales figures (new files) on a monthly basis so i want it to be able to update the figures to the new figures.

I have a formula that references another worksheet. Using the VLOOKUP function, it works great, except if the data on the other worksheet has a blank cell, it then returns a 0 (zero). Within the formula below, cell E10 is my "unique key" and is the only raw data within this spreadsheet. All other cells are strictly formulas. When Query Refresh Its Say "Enable Automatic Refresh"

I've got a spreadsheet with a few queries to extract data into my sheet. Whenever I open the spreadsheet, I get a "query refresh" dialog box, asking if I want to "Enable automatic refresh". I keep clicking on the "Enable" button but I have to keep answering the question for each open. Isn't there a way to set "yean - ok - refresh the data" so that I don't have to keep saying "yes"?

Finding The Last Non Blank Row From Another Sheet And Doing A Vlookup On That Row

I have a Workbook with 18 "sheets and a recap sheet. Each sheet will have a different number of rows between A9 and N60. On my recap sheet I want to be able to find what the last row with data in Column A and then be able to do a vlookup on that row to display the data in Column 2,3,4, exc. I know how to do the vlookup's fine but I don't know how to specify to select the last row. The data will always be different and the number of rows will never be the same either.

I tried the below formula because everyone complains that if you use True is returns the last row but that didn't work.

=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet_2!$A$9:Sheet_2!$N$60,2,TRUE)

Is there a way to do this without VB, I don't understand VB at all and that would get way over my head really quickly.

is there anyway to have a vlookup formula display a blank cell instead of #N/A if the value it was looking for is not found. For example the first spreadsheet contains the persons name say Bob, the 2nd spreadsheet that the vlookup formula is searching does not contain the name Bob right now excel shows #N/A but what I want it to show is a blank cell. I've tried conditional formating to just white out the text if #N/A appears but can't seem to get that to work.

I have a Vlookup, it returns a number, and when it doesn't find a match it returns N/A, and when it does return a match and the return value cell is blank, it returns 0. Is there any way I can have this so when it doesn't find a match, it returns a blank cell, and when it finds a match and there is no value in the return cell, it returns a blank cell as well, rather than 0?

The table ($D$139:$E$149) is laid-out as follows; no headers, Players Names are in column 1 (Column D) and Baseball Players Shirt Numbers are in column 2 (Column E). The Baseball Players Shirt Numbers are formatted General in both the table and in cell C11. I can't figure out why cell D11 returns a blsnk answer?

Populate VLookup Into Blank Cells

spans over columns A:BM.
column headers are in Row 2, data starts in Row 3
the number of rows varies month-to-month
in column A, the values are either N or Y.
Column B contains xREF numbers, where if the value = N, the xREF is unique; for values = Y, the xREF = an N value xREF number (hope that makes sense!)
Where column A value = Y, some row cells are empty. All N record cells are populated.
starting in Column C, I want all empty cells (basically all rows where column A = Y) to be populated with a VLookup formula where:
Ø lookup_value = xREF in column B
Ø table_array = all N values records spanning B:BM

I can get it to work for column C by autofilling to the last row but if I autofill across columns, the col_index_num stays the same and I can’t figure out how to increase it by 1 as it autofills across.

I am trying to use vlookup so that when each site name is selected the relevant comments for that site are displayed.

I have a formula that is working, but it displays "0" if there is nothing in the cell. How do i get it to display a blank cell if thre is nothing in the reference cell.

this is the formula that i am using:

The site name appears in C4, and is selected from another sheet in the workbook.

I have a normal VLOOKUP of this loookup range:

A 1
B 2
C 3
D 4

=VLOOKUP(T14,U6:V9,2,TRUE)

If the value in T14 is in the lookup range, I get the expected value returned. If the value exceeds the vlaues in the lookup range (e.g. I enter "E"), I get the last value in the range (4). How do I get it to return a blank cell if the entry in T14 is not found?

1. Check If the cell in column I from cell I4 and the spreadsheet varies in length is blank and if it is - see item 2

2. The data equals certain values i.e. CDE or CDE - QUO or CDE - PRO - see item 3

3. Perfom a VLOOKUP to another spreadsheet

If the routine stops at any of the items then move to the next cell

Data is on spreadsheet - Allocations.xls
Vlookup is performed on this spreadsheet - 001 - Allocations - Blocks

I'm using this formula (thanks to dafan & HalfAce [url]
=IF(VLOOKUP($A177,$A$736:$C$787,3,FALSE)=0,"",VLOOKUP($A177,$A$736:$I$787,3,FALSE))
to return the value located in the 3rd column of the range when the value in the 1st column of the range matches the data in A177.

However, there isn't a match for the data in A178 in the range, so the formula returns "#N/A". I would like the cell containing the formula to remain blank in those instances.

I am trying to create a scoreboard or leaderboard for my job. I am using VLookup to pull information from another worksheet and that working fine. And when I get that information I am ranking it. Here is my problem... Some of the data cells that are being pulled using VLookup are blank totally blank so when I try to rank it, it say #Value!. Basically I want that blank cell to be a zero instead so that I can rank it 0 being the lowest score 3in the ranking.

Each list was originally a set of names and i have populated the "D1, D2" cells (where D1 = the first name, D2 = the second, etc).

Is there any way, on a seperate sheet i can get a list which shows the following (ie. no spaces between lines of data):

Keith Ryan
Dave Lee
Sandra

Is this possible through a VLOOKUP?

Conditional Formatting - VLOOKUP And Blank Cell In Range?

I need to format cell D1 to have the fill color be red if any cell in D2:D21 is blank. I've tried

=VLOOKUP("", $D$2:$D$21, 1, FALSE) but that returns #N/A (there is one blank cell in the range at the moment).

I really don't want to use =OR($D$2="", $D$3="", ...$D$21="") if I can avoid it.
