Results Of ComboBoxes Determine The Worksheet

I have two combo boxes which are named as AREA and BRANCHES. AREA makes me choose from Math, Science, History. The result of AREA populates BRANCHES. example: if I choose Math in AREA, BRANCHES will make me choose from Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry.

Based from the choice made, all the data that I will put in my userform will go to the corresponding worksheet. example: if I choose Math in AREA and Algebra in BRANCHES, my data will go to a worksheet which has a name of MathAlgebra. If I choose Math in AREA and Calculus in BRANCHES, my data will go to a worksheet which has a name of MathCalulus

Determine Comboboxes Inside Currently Selected Range

I have a column with comboboxes in each cell, each with LinkedCell set to the cell the combobox sits inside. Once the selection is made, I hide the combobox with .Visible="False". I want to be able to unhide hidden comboboxes by selecting a range of cells in the column, and then finding the corresponding comboboxes within each cell in this range, and unhide them.

Comboboxes- Workbook For Sport Results

I’m trying to make a workbook for sport results.

What I want is a means of entering up to 12 results by date.

I’m thinking on the lines of :

12 combo boxes with the teams.

24 combo boxes to select the result.

A calendar to select the date of the match.

A command button to enter all the results to a separate workbook.

At this point I’m not even sure about doing this on a user form or with embed controls… I’d prefer the embed controls but then again I’m all but excel useless!

So if you can picture the following as controls you’ll hopefully have an idea of what I’m writing about!

Combobox for Team 1 Combobox for Score (1-10) V Combobox forTeam 2 Combobox for (Score 1-10)

Through to the last

Combobox for Team 23 Combobox for Score (1-10) V Combobox forTeam 24 Combobox for (Score 1-10)

1 x Calendar to select dates.

1 x Command button to enter the teams, result and date on to a separate worksheet.

Tab Between Worksheet Comboboxes

I'm sure this must have been answered before but I cant find it, sorry.....

I have 12 comboboxes on a worksheet. They are normally filled out by typing the first 3 characters of one of the entries in the list they are populated with.

I.e. the list starts;

AAC - Al Arish - Egypt - HEAR
AAN - Al Ain - United Arab Emirates - OMAN
AAW - Abottabad - Pakistan -

The first 3 character are unique to each line.

I'd like to be able to enter the 3 characters in the first combobox & then tab to the 2nd combobox, etc, etc. No problem in a userform but how on earth do I do that when the comboboxes are on the worksheet?

ComboBoxes - Getting Data From Different Worksheet

In one worksheet I have a large amount of data (around 300 columns and 1000 rows), growing bigger each day. This worksheet is called "datas_pH" and consists of column A with different categories, column B with different subcategories, and then the rest of the columns with the pH data.

In a different worksheet (called "database") I have 2 comboboxes where you should be able to select the categories and subcategories. For example, in the first combobox if you select A you should only be able to view and select 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If you select B you should only be able to select 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. (I believe it may be called cascading comboboxes or something along those lines?).

Anyway, here's a code that works perfectly if the comboboxes and data are in the same data sheet:

On my Worksheet, I have a Commandbotton that executes this macro to delete all comboboxes in another sheet.

This method works most of the time, but sometimes I get this error:
delete method of OLEObject class failed. I red in this forum, that I should set the TakeFocusOnClick Property of the CommandButton to false.

Determine Position Of Shape/Button On Worksheet

I have written a small piece of code that handles clicks on buttons on an excel spread sheet. When a button is pressed, i need to know the row number where the button resides in.

I have searched and read about this issue on several forums, and they all indicate that i need to use something like

application.caller.topleftcell.row

to get the row number and

application.caller.topleftcell.column

to get the column number.

However, when i use the row variant, it ALWAYS returns row number 1. When i use the column variant, it returns the column number it is actually in.

i have added the full code that is creating the buttons below, and also the part that displayes the rownumber that is incorrect.

When I click on a commandbutton20 on sheet1 it moves the user from sheet1 to sheet2, hides some columns & formats the height of a row in a range of cells I will refer to as Area X. On sheet 2 I have a target condition that if the user clicks on any part of Area X it move the cursor to cell C8. What I want to accomplish is that if commandbutton20 in clicked, the target condition is suspended. otherwise the target condition works. The code I wrote is as follows. What happens when I press F5 to execute it... a macro window pops up.

I am populating a 2nd temporary worksheet from a primary using autofilter which works just fine. I have been asked to set it up to populate the 2nd sheet using the same autofilter criteria across two or more of the primary sheet columns. I have been looking through the forums and found an article in which this process is described, #2 The power of Autofilter in VBA - Part 2, and I would like to ask if this will do the job for me.

I did attempt to create my own code, but it didn't work with a loop that I created. I do use input boxes to gather criteria from the user. I have put a copy of my code below which doesn't work, but need to know if the code in the article mentioned above will work?

Only problem, when the macro finds a result he should copy and start over again, starting from the row below, but somehow he start 2 rows lower, so I'm missing results. (when he should copy row 2,3,4,5,6 - the result is only 2,4,6) I tried changing

Return Results Of Ping Test To Worksheet

I'm trying to work out some code that will take the contents of a cell (either alias or IP name), carry out a ping operation and return the result into the worksheet in the next columns to the right.

I've searched this site and found something similar that returns the result of the ping to a MSGBOX but this isn't quite what I want.

The endgame is to have a For/Next loop for a list of IP addresses in (say) A1:A10 and have the results pasted into columns B, C and so on, with each line of the ping result pasted into subsequent columns.

I would like to sort this, but have the sorted results displayed in Column-A of Sheet2.

How can I do this?

Note: I need to be able build flexibility into this such that I can add names to the bottom of the list in Sheet1, knowing that the results in Sheet2 will be able to accomodate the additions.

now i have filtered data in a table, i want to use the results by printing off a table showing just these and the appropriate rows from other tables on worksheets. these all have a specific ID which is how they are traceable to each other. like a related field in an access database. two tables/worksheets are like so:

table1:
Reg No | Rank | Name | Initials | Troop | etc

table 2:
Reg No | JCLM1 | JCLM2 | SCLM1 | SCLM2 | etc

If i were to filter the second table by JCLM1 = YES then i want to create a printable list of all those but also to include the related records from table 1. is this possible?

I got the following code from Use AutoFilter to filter and copy the results to a existing worksheet and would like to incorporate this into my VBA project. The problem however is that this code were written to perform on one workbook and this is where my problem is. My project is between two different workbooks and cannot seem to get this code modified to do what it is supposed to do between these two workbooks. Everything I have tried so far failed. In short what this code would do is to check the existing data on the one sheet (the source) and extract only the data which is meeting my set criteria, and copy this data to the destination sheet. This is what I would like to do between two workbooks. With this the sample code as provided by Ron de Bruin. The sample workbook could be accessed trough the following link [URL]..... With this the code for matching and copying on one workbook.

Apply AdvancedFilter To Several Sheets & Copy Results To New Worksheet

The data to be filtered is in several sheets, and once filtered is to be copied to a destination sheet (in this case "Temp"). The criteria for advanced filter is on an altogether different sheet (in this case "Reports"). The macro is actually simplified for the purpose of the question, and I want to re-use the code several times, hence the use of variable "filterRng". When I run it, I get the subject error at the bolded line in the code below. I'm thinking that the Advanced Filter doesn't like a variable as a range reference, as it runs perfectly well if the commented out line below the problem line is used instead.

Automated Worksheet Copy, Rename Based On Cell Results

I am building a workbook. The data we are tracking is all in one xml file, which i have mapped to 3 different worksheets(customers, invoices, inventory). On the customers and inventory sheet I have an interface for creating a new customer/product/invoice. I used the macro recorder to make the macro's to do these three things, but could use help on a couple of other functions as I don't actually know VBA. I need to be able to automate editing of existing records by having a button to press on the each sheet that will open an input box that asks the user which invoice number, customer number or product number he would like to edit, then copy that record to the interface for editing, then another macro to replace the existing data with the newly edited data. It would also be wonderful if when creating or editing an invoice it could create a copy of the interface worksheet and rename it as the invoice number. The first row of each datasheet is blank, and each of the interfaces have formula's for importing the information copied to row 1 from the data tables. the second row of each datasheet contains formulas for importing data from the interface. Any help would be terrific...I know you guys are excel gods and I will forever be in your debt if you can help me out....thanks in advance, I'll be studying my butt off until I figure this out

Excel 2003 :: Compare Characters Between Two Columns And Output Results In Same Worksheet?

I have a worksheet with five columns (A, B, C, D and E)

The cells in Column B contain letters and/or numbers (without spaces) in no particular order.
The cells in Column C contain letters and/or numbers (without spaces) in no particular order.

I want to compare all characters in 1st Cell of Column B with all characters in 1st Cell of Column C, and display the matching characters in 1st Cell of Column D, and the character count of 1st Cell in Column D must be displayed in 1st Cell of Column E. note that multiple instances of the same character must not be treated as duplicates. When execution on 1st Row is finished then repeat procedure for Row 2, etc... Stop execution when first empty cell in Column B is located.

Example:

B1 = LJLM12
C1 = KY2MLK
B2 = ZCG4GM
C2 = X4GGGC
B3 = KTCBNG
C3 = GNBTBB

The script/code/formula must output the following:

D1 = LM2
E1 = 3
D2 = CG4G
E2 = 4

Dropdown List Displaying Multiple Results - No Functionality If Worksheet Is Protected

I wanted to create a multiple drop down lists (using data validation) in column B (50 in all, every 3rd line) whereby, multiple, comma deliminated, results would display in each of the cells - for use elsewhere in the spreadsheet.

I found some code (as follows) which worked perfectly for me

As I mentioned above, I don't really understand the code and all I know is that the line about halfway down "If Target.Column = 2 Then" is defining which column (B) this will work in.

The problem I am having is that I need to protect the worksheet and the moment I "protect" the worksheet, the functionality of displaying multiple values goes away and the drop-down list reverts to only displaying one of the available values.

Using INI Files With Comboboxes

I'm thinking of writing a small tool to store user information on certain files.

The user data will be input by means of comboboxes on a userform.

Each combobox will need to contain a list of values previously used for that combobox. (I'm planning to use a separate ini file for each combobox)

All of the user data entered for a file will be saved into a single ini file.

Most of this is straightforward however I'm not good with comboboxes. And working this in with Ini files makes it harder!

I'm struggling with the following concepts:

SOLVED - How do to make a combobox populate with all the values from its ini file
SOLVED - How to identify if a selected value in any combobox is new (i.e. wasn't in the original list presented to the user)
SOLVED - (From above) How to write this new value to that comboboxes ini file (so it will appear in future lists for that combobox)
How to input two values from any given combobox
(From above) How to record two values for one field into the files ini file.

On my userform there are 2 comboboxes. In combobox 1 I have Rowsource as Column A (Names), if I select John I want Combobox 2 to list 500 & 225.

Two Comboboxes On A Userform

I have two comboboxes on a userform, they both get there list from the same formula. What I am trying to do is have the second combobox have it's selection preset based on the selection in combobox 1.

ie
Combobox1 = 6:00 AM
when you click on the dropdown for combobox2 i would like 6:00 AM to be the first selection possible, but I dont want it displayed in the box unless it is selected.

I am using the following code to determine whether a given range is the linked cell for a Combo Box by looping through the shapes collection.

Using Indirect Function With Comboboxes

I totally understand how to make the combobox under form controls now but I am not having any success with the indirect function I was using as a list now that I have a combo box. I have attached the current form I am working on that just shows the list function still. How to convert this over to combo boxes with the indirect function?

I attached a second form with the feature I am asking about. It is just lacking the third list that I now have in place. (on the 1st attachment).

Populate 5 Comboboxes With Values 1 - 10

Within a userform, I want to populate five combo boxes and with the values of 1 - 10. I looked through several excel websites and found several solutions. However, I could not figure out how to adopt their solutions to my specific case.

My naming convention for the combo boxes are: cmboPeriod1, cmboPeriod2, ... , cmboPeriod5.

I know my with statement is incorrect. I know the compiler will automatically think 'cmboPeriod' is a variable. I just don't know how to get it 'cmboPeriod & j' to do what I really intend for it to do.
