VBA - Retrieving Data From Google Spreadsheet

Nov 8, 2013

I have a googlespreadsheet with 4 columns. date, id, name, positive/negative.

What I would like to be able to do is to call a procedure from an excel document to copy/retrieve all of the information between specified dates on the google spreadsheet and place into another worksheet in the excel document.

The spreadsheet is hosted in my googledrive and is confidential (i.e. I cannot publish it), so I am assuming I will need to add password credentials into the code, which will be an added complication.

Any way for an excel spreadsheet to automatically feed into or sync to a Google doc.

Unfortunately I have a dashboard which can only use a Google doc spreadsheet, so uploading the excel spreadsheet into Google drive wouldn't work. Nor vice versa as we have a Cube which feeds into Excel.

So the only way around this is for the excel spreadsheet to sync to a Google doc.

Averaging Times In Google Spread Sheet

Apr 5, 2007

I would like to calculate the average number of hours worked per day in a particular week from my time sheet (in "Google spread sheets"). Daily hours are calculated in hr:min:sec format. Days not worked display 0:00:00. The formula I use to calculate total hours worked that weeK is for row 9 as follows: =INT( SUM(G9,K9,O9,S9,W9) )*24+LEFT(TEXT( SUM(G9,K9,O9,S9,W9) ,"HH:mm"),2)&TEXT( SUM(G9,K9,O9,S9,W9) , ":mm:ss")

How do I calculate the average number of hrs and minutes worked per day (excluding days not worked, cells containing 0:00:00)

Excel 2007 :: Retrieving Value Of Corresponding Cell In Same Row

Aug 6, 2014

I am currently struggling with a spreadsheet that has been created in Excel 2007. Essentially, it has a number of items (individually identified by "S code" in the first column) that need to be tested at the specific dates over a one year period (i.e. at "2 weeks", "4 weeks", "8 weeks", etc) as shown in the screenshot below.

A user manually enters "Complete" into the corresponding cell in the "In-testing status" section of the spreadsheet when testing has been completed for a certain item at a particular time point.

Screenshot.jpg

I already have set up conditional formatting that highlights cells with dates older than the current date red. What I need to do now is to check for a particular item and date whether or not the corresponding "In-testing Status" cell reads "COMPLETE". If it does, I need to use a conditional formatting rule to return formatting to normal.

What I am unsure of is how exactly to retrieve the value of the corresponding "In-testing Status" cell.

Unfortunately I can't use a macro-enabled workbook in this environment

Excel 2010 :: Copy Range Of Cells From One Sheet To Another Depending On Option Being Selected From Dropdown Box

Aug 13, 2012

Using macro's on Excel 2010. What I'm trying to do is create a macro that will copy a range of cells from one sheet to another depending on a option being selected from a drop down box. I've tried to use formulas but without success.
sheet 1 contains a list of approx 20 people with rows containing sales figures per week.

Is it possible to have a macro that will copy the rows to sheet2 depending on the dropdown? The drop down has already been setup with people's names

E.g.
if sheet 1, cell a1 (with data validation setup) dropdown contains "mr smith", copy sheet2 row A1:A9 to sheet 1 cell a2
or
if sheet 1, cell a1 dropdown contains "mr cooper", copy sheet2 row B1:B9 to sheet1 cell a2
etc... for each name in the dropdown

The idea is so that i select a dropdown and it copies the sales figures that match the dropdown name, if i then select another dropdown, the corresponding figures are copied to the same place.

Excel 2010 :: Getting Rid Of Decimal Places

Apr 8, 2013

Using Excel 2010

Workbook with 21 sheets, first sheet is the summary sheet (named SUMMARY) taking all it's content from the other sheets, named from 1 to 20, which are all laid out the same, but contain different data.

My problem is that I want to get rid of decimal places that are being brought into the SUMMARY sheet

In sheets named 1 to 20, I am using the following formula in H23 to arrive at a figure =IFERROR(100/(B5/B23),0) in H23

B5 and B23 are always whole numbers on all sheets 1-20, result can be whole or contain decimal places which I round up in the cell to show no decimal places

On sheet 1, B5 is 200 and B23 is 5, giving 2.50 as the answer, which is right, I have H23 set as a number cell with no decimal places so it rounds up to 3 which is what appears in the H23 cell.

All of the above is correct and appearing as I want it on the sheet, the problem arises when I import into the SUMMARY sheet as follows:

On the SUMMARY sheet in cell B59 I want the following to appear 5 - 3 but am getting 5 - 2.5 using the following formula

='1'!B23&" - "&'1'!H23

The first part is fine as B23 will always be a whole number

How can I stop it from bringing in the 2.5 and get it to bring in the rounded up 3 into cell B59

I have cell B59 set as a number cell with no decimal places but it still appears as 2.5

Also when I correct it as it appears a lot on the summary sheet, how do I get the following to happen

='1'!$B$23&" - "&'1'!$H$23

if I fill the above across columns how to I get the two '1' s in the formula to become '2' then '3' as I fill across.

Excel 2013 :: Zero Point Zero Out To 14 Decimal Places Is Not 0?

Jul 12, 2014

So how can it be that Excel calculates Pi()/90*90=Pi(); but Pi()/90+Pi()/90+Pi()/90......90 times is 0.000000000000033527. And why is the number zero out to 14 decimal places not being returned as 0?

I need to know exactly when a series of sequentially increasing radians = Pi(). The length of the series is dynamic and can be as few as 6 and as many as 120. And right now Excel is not cooperating.

Here is what excel thinks Pi()/90+Pi()/90+....90 times =

3.14159265358980000000

3.14159265358979000000 (this is how excel displays Pi() out to 20 decimal places)

So Excel thinks the two numbers are not equal to each other, and what could be more interesting is that Excel thinks the difference is

0.00000000000000355271

Even after copying and pasting both numbers as values out to 20 decimals. Excel still thinks the difference is 0.00000000000000355271

How is that possible?

I have Excel 2013. Is there some sort of bug here? I had posted earlier about major headaches when using natural log. Random cells keep getting forced to 14, 15, sometimes 16 or 17 decimals. No rhyme no reason. I can custom format every cell in worksheet to 2 decimals, and as soon as I hit F9... ############# all over the place. At least with Pi() the decimals are under control, but the math is not right. Pi()/x + Pi()/x.....x times = Pi().

Excel Formula Retrieving Data From Very Large Dataset

Jan 17, 2013

I've been unsuccessful in trying to write a formula that retrieves a single result based on two criteria (from a large set of data on a separate worksheet). I've tried various INDEX MATCH combinations but no luck.

A
B
C
D
E

1
DATE
TEAM
PITCHERS
RESULT

2
4/1
nyy
Sabathia
???????

[Code] ........

So this is a very simplified version of my real data set which is about 20 times this size. The first worksheet is where I want to store my retrieved results (lets say D2 for example). I want to retrieve data from the second worksheet that matches two criteria (exactly) originating from my first worksheet. The two criteria to be matched from the first worksheet are, for example, A1 (sabathia) and F2 (the date 4/8). The complicated part is the desired result should be from the corresponding K/9 column in the second sheet, which in this case (based on sabathia and 4/8 criteria) is I2 (result would be 3). It's complicated since I can't just tell the formula to look down a specific K/9 column, I need to search ALL the K/9 columns in the sheet (of which there are many). Is this even possible with some sort of nested INDEX MATCH? Any possibilities outside of VBA programming, or is that the only way?

Excel 2007 :: Changing Number To Add Decimal Places

Jan 30, 2013

I am using Excel 2007 and importing a list of coordinates. The coordinates are in a text file and separated by commas, so I'm opening the file as a delimitted file. All of the coordinates import correctly except one. The value is supposed to 52530.6372, but Excel is automatically changing it to 52530.6371999999

If I manually type a "2" to replace the "1999999", it changes it back. If I type "3" it stays as a 3.

I added a round function to force it to round to 4 decimal places and that seemed to work until I then tried using the number with text commands. When I used an ampersand to insert the number into a text string, the additional decimal places are back, even with a round function!

Excel 2007 :: Limit To 2 Decimal Places Precision

Oct 14, 2013

Is there a way I can get excel (2007) to limit itself to 2 decimal places for all numbers entered? So effectively I don't want use the formulas TRUNC or ROUND (or any other formula) but I would like rather excel to behave like my calculator where I can limit the decimals to 2 no matter how many I input.

In other words, every time a input a number, excel will round it up automatically to 2 decimal places and the number available will have 2 decimals only. Is there any option hidden somewhere in the Excel options that I couldn't find?

Excel 2007 :: Retrieving Count Distribution Of Groups Of Cells?

Jan 27, 2013

Code:
1 566
1 566
1 566
2 341
2 341
3 566
3 566
3 566
3 566
...

There is a one-to-one relationship between Column A and B, but B is not unique (but can only take a small set of valid values). I wish to query how many id's (Column A) contain a particular property (Column B). If the example above ended before the "...", I would like to get as the output:

Code:
566 2
341 1

because the property 566 is owned by two id's (1 and 3) and the property 341 is only owned by the id 2.
