So basically I have an Excel sheet which has keywords that need to be entered in Google search. I need the URL of the first page of the search result that appears after that keyword is entered. IS there a macro for the same?

Excel 2010 :: Searching A Folder For A Keyword And Returning The Full Path?

My Excel 2010 spreadsheet contains client data like the below:

A
B
C
D
E

What I'm trying to get from this is a personally addressed email with 2 attachments, one will be standard to all recipients and one will be unique and specific to that recipient. The filename of the unique attachment will contain the reference but will have some other stuff in the filename as well on either side that I will not be able to remove.

In terms of the file locations the unique ones will be in subfolders of the folder holding this workbook and the generic one will be in the same folder as the this workbook.This is some adapted code that solved a similar problem (in Excel 2007 though) on a different website.

In that case the file started with the "reference" field but in my case it is in the middle and the formats vary depending on the provider, there will only be a maximum of 5 providers but I would like to avoid 5 different macros if at all possible so I need a search function of some sort.

i have an excel file with hundreds of rows of product codes which i need to download images for. is there a way this can be done directly from excel? basically if cell A1 has product name and Cell B1 have product code, id like Cell C1 to generate a link that will use the contents of B1 as the basis of my google image search. can this be created using a macro?

I've got an Excel document with over 323 entries and I need to search the data to find where ever a certain keyword is mentioned and copy the entire row into a separate sheet within the same workbook. However, I have a list of around 323 keywords and there is AND condition as well.so doing this using Ctrl+F would take some time.

The data is in Sheet "Training Dataset" and the particular column that needs to be searched is Column "A" . "Training Dataset" is the sheet where I would like the found results to be copied to in the column B and C. The list of Keywords that need to be searched for are located in Sheet "Keywords" , starting from Cell C and D.

how to create a simple form that would search a sheet for a word and display the list of resulting rows - something similar to Adobe Reader 7 Search functionality ?

If I was having administrator privileges on this PC, I would simply install Cygnus and use its "grep" command on a CSV file but without that possibility, it's rather cumbersome to search an Excel sheet when you need to do it repetitively, and I need to locate a specific row each time without knowing the exact content of the cell (only searching for one or another word I know the cell contains).

The sheet shown, Complaints, lists on each row information on a single complaint. This information extends from Col A to Col Y (though not that way here, the data actually begins in row 3). I want to highlight a Customer cell, say H227 for Customer A, then activate a macro that (1) recognizes the active customer (here A), searches the list, identifies each row where A is the customer and then writes each row into sheet "Event" beginning in row 4. I should then see the same A to Y cells of information, beginning in row 4, filled in sheet Event for the six customer A complaints. Note, the actual data in sheet Complaints involves 300 rows of data, and over 100 customers can be on the list, some up to 15 times. I know that I could do this by filtering the data, copying and pasting, but a simple macro would be quicker for the group of individuals involved. Note, I then use this information to populate a chart.

Code / macro that would automatically search a word doc for keywords and export every instance of that keyword into column A of a spreadsheet, the first three or four words prior to that keywords into column B, and the entire sentence where the keywords is found into column C?

I often pull hundreds of pages of text from a program that exports into Word and have to look through the pages to find every instance where a point is referenced by geolocation. Then I have to filter through that data to determine which of the points I found are truly important before I save it all to a csv or xls and feed it into mapping software.

If I had a code / macro that did the search and export automatically, it would save hours of work.

I am looking to write a macro that will search for keywords on a sheet, on a workbook at a specific path, and would like some help getting this macro started...

It would get run from "WorkbookA", and would look at "WorkbookB" (wherever it is) and find the cell containing the keyword, where the cell value would be the output. I would really prefer that it did not open Workbook B while this macro is run, if thats possible.

I have managed to get the following sum to work if I put the exact title in the search however I would like it to be possible for a partial search.

Keyword Search - Macros To Change Font Color For Specific Keywords (not Entire Cell)

I need to conduct keyword searches in excel and color the keywords a different color without changing the font color of the entire cell. now, i found some code from another thread that does this, but i cant seem to get it to work with more than 2 keywords. i need fine-tuning the provided code to do what i need it to do.

the VBA code i used was this:

I was playing around with the example, the Cat_Mouse.xlsm, and when i modified the 'myList' and 'myColor' arrays, it does not work.

For example, I modified the code to add the word bat:

When i run the macros, the word "Bat" does not become colored red. interestingly enough, when i substitute the word "bat" for the word "hat" in the "myLIST array, the word "hat" does change to the red font.

I am looking to use this code to address keywords in my excel file by coloring all key words red and i have more than 10 key words.

Unique Keyword List

I have a large keyword list
lets say it's 25,676 keyword phrases all in ColA (Always from A3 downwards).

I delete rows as I'm sorting so the number does very.

The sheet tab is always called "All KWs" (For All Keywords Not surprisingly)

What I would like is a macro that does the following.

Can it look at all the keyword phrases on sheet "All KWs" in ColA (From A3 downwards and make a list on a new sheet of just unique keywords from the list.
This sheet will be called "Unique keywords"

So, can it return on this sheet called "Unique keywords" all the unique keywords from the large list in ColA (From A3 downwards) on the sheet "All KWs".

If it can return only unique words and numbers etc, removing all duplicates.

If it can do this From A3 downwards.....

Excel Sync To Google Doc

Any way for an excel spreadsheet to automatically feed into or sync to a Google doc.

Unfortunately I have a dashboard which can only use a Google doc spreadsheet, so uploading the excel spreadsheet into Google drive wouldn't work. Nor vice versa as we have a Cube which feeds into Excel.

So the only way around this is for the excel spreadsheet to sync to a Google doc.

How To Creating A Unique Keyword List

What I'm trying to achieve is the following;

I have a big keyword list saved in Excel.
Something like the following,

These are all keyword phrases;

car rent
car hire
cars for rent uk
etc etc etc

All listed in Column A

All phrases in Column A, and in separate rows.(1 phrase per row.)about 2000 lines (Rows) in total.

What I want to know is there any way of selecting the whole list and exporting it (To save it as another list. A list of just unique keywords?

So, It would create a list like;
car
rent
uk
hire
for
etc etc etc.

So basically I want excell to look at all the words and export them to another list showing just unique keywords, 1 per line.

This is so I can see from a huge list what all the unique keywords are.
Is there a way of doing this within Excel Now?? or has someone made a plugin ( Macro) to achieve this?

I've looked at the sort & filter options, but it doesn't appear to have this function?

What i have so far is:
-3 Sheets (Sheet1 - Search, Sheet2 - Data, Sheet3 - Result)
-Sheet1 has a userform ready to link up - this opens up when workbook and worksheet is activated.
-Sheet2 has some example data to search - the search is for column 1 (see attachment)
-Sheet3 has a template ready for the data to be pasted to.

I would like the search result is column 1 to copy the data from columns 1 to 7 to sheet3.

I want the template/layout to remain after the pasting of results. (everything protected from editing, if possible).

Once finished (ie go back to sheet1, i want the data from sheet3 to be cleared.)

I am trying to create my own budgeting tool. I have most of the tracker set up but I hit a stumbling block. I downloaded transations from Bank of America as a CSV file into excel. I want to categorize these transactions.

I created a keyword list that has words like "Starbucks" "Exxon" etc. Each of these keywords is then listed next to a category like "food" and "gas". So I want a formula that will compare the transactions to my keyword list and return the category type. Here is an example transaction:

CHECKCARD 0256 STARBUCKS USA 00029801 GAINESVILLE VA

I have a keyword "Starbucks" in f2 and "food" in g2.

i just want to know what function will i use to return a header row as
a result. I have a worksheet consisting of lists of images arranged in
columns by subfolder; the name of the subfolder serves as my header.

Now, i have another list of images and i want to crosscheck this list
to my worksheet to know where these images are located or in what
subfolder/s are they included.

my table looks like this:

Simple Formula Returning Odd Result

I have a reasonable grasp of Excel and this has me completely stumped. Three cells hold numeric values (format General though the format seems not to change the result)

C4 = 4082322.25
D4 = 4046689.05
E4 = 35633.2

Another cell contains the simplest of formulae ...
F4 = "=C4-D4-E4"

Clearly the result should be zero.
In fact the result is (to 15 decimals) ...

0.000000000189175

HOWEVER
If I change F4 formula to "=C4-E4-D4" the result is zero.

Lookup Formula Not Returning The Corresponding Result

I have a data table, A1:J22. The purpose it serves is to align and compare data from other tables, so the data contained within it is all cell references and contains many #N/A values. Also, and most importantly, not all of the columns are populated with data. The first row is a text header row and the first column is numeric and adjusts according to the value in A2. I have an additional column at the end of the data table, yet apart from it, which contains an array formula to provide me with the maximum value of each row and to circumvent the #N/A's, =MAX(IF(ISNUMBER(B2:J2),B2:J2,"")). I am trying to write a formula that will return the corresponding "header" of the result of this formula. Everything I have tried thus far, primarily variations of Lookup and Index/Match formulas, seemingly defaults to the header of the last column containing data.
