Is there a way to force a control botton linked to some VBA code to run the macro on not the first, but the second click?
Running into this issue of "transworksheet macros"
I have a master "update" commandbutton on sheet 1. I have two sub "update" buttons on sheet 2 and 3 respectively.
What I would like to do is have the user click the master button, that would "click" the two sub buttons so they run their respective macros on their respective worksheets (within the same worksheet.
I have tried pasting the macro code in the master button, telling it to select the sub worksheet and then run the macro, but the marco runs itself on the master worksheet instead.
what code I can put behind a button so that once I click on that button,
What ever cell i click on, the whole row of that cell will be colored a certain color.
Is this where i would used a target approach?
I currently am using a form button to create new rows.
I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-
VB:
Sub InsertRow()
'this inserts a row where the button is clicked.
Dim r As Range
[Code]....
However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.
I have a workbook that contains 18 sheets, on 14 of the work sheets I have a comand button that runs the following
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
' Range("B3:B53").Select
' Selection.ClearContents
Dim nloop As Long
Range("C3:K53").Select
Selection.Copy
Range("B3:J53").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
For nloop = 3 To 53
If nloop 3 And nloop 12 And nloop 15 And nloop 16 And nloop 23 And nloop 28 And nloop 41 And nloop 47 Then Range("K" & nloop).Value = 0
Next nloop
Range("B2").Value = DateAdd("d", 7, Range("B2").Value)
Range("L7").Select
End Sub
I want to put a comand button on sheet18 that will run the code so it does the same thing as pressing each command button on each sheet.
the sheets that I have the cmd on are:
Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheets3, Sheet4, Sheet5, Sheet6, Sheet9, Sheet10, Sheet11, Sheet12, Sheet13, Sheet15, Sheet16, Sheet17
I want to be able to show a calendar control, have the user select a date, and then fill a cell with that date. The range I would want the calendar to appear is B2:B100.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe code below is supposed to keep a running total, however each time a formula in Cell B20 produces a value of 1, the counter counts at infinite. Where may the problem be?
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
If Range("B20").Value = 1 Then
With Sheets("Sheet2").Range("A1")
.Value = .Value + 1
End With
End If
End Sub
I have set up a macro that opens a set of about 20 excel files, one at a time,and then copies select sheets, and then pastes into a different main spreadsheet. After each sheet is opened and copied/pasted, I close it out and open the next one. My problem is I keep having to click through messages while the macro is running. I encounter the following messages:
1. Do you want to save (file that I opened and copied from)?
2. The formula or sheet that you want to copy contains the name "asdf.." which already exists on the destination worksheet. Do you want to use this version of the name?
3. A box comes up that says update values from this file:
4. There is a large amount of information on the clipboard. Do you want to be able to post this information into the clipboard later?
I would rather ignore all of these message boxes, but my answers to them are as follows:
1. No i do not want to save
2. Yes I want to use that version of the name
3. I want to select cancel out of this
4. No i do not want to be able to post that information.
Is there any way I can automate this?
I am using a refEdit control on a userform to get a range from the user (they use the refEdit control to click on the desired range). My problem is that the user typically has 3 or 4 different workbooks open and if one of them is maximized withing Excel, the user is unable to get to them to select the range (only the maximized workbook is displayed and usable). Is there a way around this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRE: Macro ActiveX Click Control--It stops when on another sheet
Macro runs OK when run from menu.
An activeX click button was put on sheet B.
Right click the control, View Code, Paste in code from macro, then click button.
It runs the part of the macro that applies to sheet B, goes to previous sheet A, and then stops. The range select line for the named range on sheet A is highlighted in yellow. It stops when selecting any range or cell on sheet A, like B2.
Any idea why this code does not work on sheet A when ActiveX button is on sheet B? Is there someplace else that the control can go? Using Excel 2000.
See part of code below, which starts on sheet B:
' Macro recorded 11/22/2007
Range("SortAll").Select
Selection.Sort Key1:=Range("T2"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlNo, _
OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom
ActiveSheet.Previous.Select
Range("FormBase").Select (STOPS HERE)
Selection.Copy
Range("Formul").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
ActiveSheet.Next.Select
FormBase is a named dynamic range
FormBase=OFFSET(A!$A$2,0,0,1,MATCH(1E+306,A!$2:$2))
I have a textbox from the drawing toolbar. When someone changes a cell then clicks in the textbox, Worksheet_Change does not run. If they double click in the cell, that's OK I can capture that event and protect the sheet, stopping them clicking in it. But if they just start typing in the cell, I can't capture that. I have seen some API code which captures keypresses, but it is not practical to use as it loops repeatedly. I could lock the textbox and have the user do something to unlock it, but this is a last resort.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a userform with a combobox in it that's rowsource is a column of company names in a worksheet. When a company name is chosen, a combobox change private sub runs and many userform textboxes are populated with information about the company that was chosen from the combobox dropdown. This information is stored on a worksheet. I then want to edit any of the information in these textboxes. Once my edits are made I have a CommandButton that is pressed to save the edit changes. This CommandButton runs a private sub that disables the combobox (thinking this would prevent the combobox private sub from running), deletes the row that the information originated from, and then SHOULD make a new row of values based on the contents of the textboxes following the edits. The problem is that the CommandButton coding that deletes the row causes the combobox change private sub to run because the company that had been selected is now the missing from the rowsource; this causes an error.

Is there a way to add a new sheet as soon as click on button on excel sheet with the name i give.
ex : there should be a button on the Index page , as soon as i click on button it should add a new sheet and i should be able to provide a name in the index page for that sheet.
I have many workbooks that I receive from clients I run various Excel VBA macros on depending on which workbook it is, and I need to automate all of this so that anyone can run an simple .exe user interface designed in VB 2005 Express Edition where when that interface is run, a window opens on the destop with a collection of buttons, when the user clicks one of the buttons, Excel launches, loads the appropriate file and runs an already-existing appropriate Excel macro, then some file maintenance is done, like moving a group of files from one subdirectory to another.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using VBA to pull a web query to get sone info from an intranet site.
Unfortunately, the data it pulls is usually old. I've found the only solution is to open a browser manually and to click the Reload button on the web page then navigate back to my workbook and run it again. Then it will pull the most up to date info.
I've tried several ways of forcing a refresh of the data, but have not figured it out yet.
I have been trying the past couple of hours to use the send keys button to tab down to the button on the page I need and to hit enter, thus forcing a refresh, but I can't seem to get that to work either.
On a spreadsheet I have a button which has a macro assigned to it, for some reason when I protect the worksheet then then click the button, nothing happens (or though I do get egg timer for a second). but when I unprotect the shet its fine.
ive used this type of method many tiems, and cant see what the problem is, have tried all combination of locking and unlocking cells in and around etc, but nothign changes it.
I have a spreadsheet with 6 buttons on it. Ive been using the code from Daves Download Page to log users of the spreadsheet, however im now want to log which button is being clicked the most. Is this possible? Ive tried to do it myself, by adding a hidden sheet, and adding code to each button to add a line to the new sheet each time the button was clicked etc, but faield miserably.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a column ("R") which contains prices. What I'm looking to do is have a form control button that either hides that column, or better still just turn the font white (invisible)on the press of the button, then with another press turn the font back to black (visible) or do I require 2 buttons to carry out this function. I don't wish to have the column formatted in anyway after the changes, simply 1 press turns the font white and either another press (or another button) turns the column back to the exact same state (no formulas present) as it was.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there any way, through VBA code, to click a button on a sheet in another workbook. This button has a macro assigned to it. What I need to be done is this :- the workbook which has the button is open. The code should click the button on a specific sheet. On this action, the macro assigned to the button should get called.
I could just call the macro which is assigned to the button in this code. But the requirement is that the button click operation should call the macro.
I have found that one can do quite a lot with the code, but this seems to be one a whole different level. I came across a possible solution in the below mentioned link but it doesnt seem to be working for me. [URL]

Once the info is entered in the input box, it searches through sheet 2 for the number. If the number is found, I would like for a box to pop up with the number found and the name that is next to the number from sheet 2.
