I would like to have a formula in one cell that finds records on another sheet that meet certain criteria, and produces a sum of the total quantities associated with that record. The attached workbook has more details as to what I am trying to do.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to use the SUM IF Array formula to sum a group of numbers that fall under a heading of reference numbers over several sheets of data. For example purposes lets say my spreadsheet looks something like the below.

The first two digits of the heading numbers are the criteria I am trying to use to separate and sum the data. For example I need to sum the value of the data below headings that falls between 1400000000000 and 1499999999999.
For the example above I used the below formula for the current Sheet and it works fine.

I'm trying to get a sum only if 2 conditions are met.
Column A has dates (ex. 01/02/2007) in a random order. Column B has a location in a text format (ex. London). Column C has a series of values formatted as [h]:mm.
What I'm trying to do is get a sum of the values in column C where the corresponding values in columns A and B = the date and loction I specify. I've tried...
=SUM(IF(('Jan ''07'!A$2:A$750="1/2/2007")*('Jan ''07' E$2:E$750="London"),'Jan ''07'!J$2:J$750))
but it's returning zero values regardless of the criteria being met or not.
My book is telling me that I can't use multiple conditions with a SUMIF
statement but other sources are telling me I can. Either way, it's not
working!
My situation:
Look at data in $V$2:$V$144 (range = "group"). If cells in "group" =
"Broth" then look at $Y$2:$Y$144 (range = "bldg"). If "bldg" = "1" then sum
corresponding cells in $R$2:$R$144 (range = "fcst").
This is one of my attempts - feeble...

I am trying to use multiple "ifs" and then summing the cells that obey my conditions.

I want the ifs and sumifs to:
Check if place = NY
Check if object = keyboard
Check if condition = failure
and sum the prices when all of the above are true.How do I do it??
I am really stuck here and need help with a formula. I have attached a sheet visuals. I want to add up all the numbers that contain two specific accounts#'s. One account is directly across from the number, where I can use this formula very easily: =SUMIF(Q1:Q288,AF245,Z1:Z294)
The second account is in a different column, but it is not directly across the number. It is five cells below. So basically am having a tuff time applying these two conditions, where one condition does not directly align with the data I want to add.

I want to count all instances if the following conditions are true. In quotations, are the names that I am using for column ranges. Here are my conditions, I want to count the rows that have the following conditions.
When "dates" or J2:J25 is less than or equal to today's date
AND
"HTeam" or W2:W25 is equal to Civil
AND
"Percent" or K2:K25 is equal to 100
I work for a farm where we receive fresh produce from harvesters daily. I created a workbook with worksheets(ws) for my daily inventory counts according to product type and separate worksheets for each day of the week showing the orders shipping for that particular day.
I collaborated the data from the inventory count ws and the ws for each day into one ws called Harvest. I am trying to figure out how to keep a running total of what needs to be harvested vs. what is in inventory so that I can show my harvesters what new product is needed to fill orders for today forward, after subtracting what is available in inventory, and showing the amount shipped for past days . Another part that's throwing me is that harvest brings in new product daily and sometimes they bring in a surplus.
Here is an example:
Lets say today is Tuesday and my Inventory ws shows we have 50 kale in inventory - cell D10
Monday ws shows an order for 50 kale, cell D14
Tuesday ws shows an order for 100 kale, cell D14
Wednesday ws shows an order for 100 kale, cell D14
Thursday ws shows an order for 100 kale, cell D14
On my Harvest ws, Since today is Tuesday, how would I keep the Monday cell showing 50 kale as the amount shipped on Monday, Tuesday cell showing we need 50 kale to be harvested to add to the 50 in inventory and fill the order of 100, Wednesday cell showing that we need 100 kale harvested, and Thursday showing that we need 100 kale harvested?
If Harvest brings in a surplus of 100 kale on Tuesday so we have 100 kale in inventory on Wednesday how do I get the Harvest ws to now show that Monday cell should still show 50 kale shipped, Tuesday cell should show 100 kale shipped, Wednesday cell should show that we don't need any kale harvested since we are using the 100 surplus in inventory, Thursday cell should show we need 100 kale harvested.
I am trying to use sumif formula to add sales forecast based on three conditions but i also want to add the revenue for current month which i have but for the next one months as well as two months plus.. this will change based on the current month.. below is what I am using for the current month..

I am preparing an analysis of my company's expenses for the last two years by account. One on excel sheet I have the raw data,
bank account, payee, payment date, clear date, amount, payment type
(This is from all accounts for the whole 2 year period.)
In the second sheet, I have a summary schedule setup. The summary is setup like this:

Row 1: Begin Date
Row 2: End Date
Payment Type 1 AAAAAAA
Payment Type 2 BBBBBBBB
I would like to come up with a formula that will populate AAAAA & BBBBB for a given account during a given time period. For example, I would like it to give me the total of Type 1 payments from account 12 during the period January 2, 2005 through January 27, 2006.

I know I need to put it at the beginning, but not sure how! I have the following formula for between dates:

but then this isn't working right either!
1) Input data are static and helper columns can be added if needed.
2) Filter will be dynamic range (in attachement is the filter static), and the count of years can be changed on users request. So there could be only 2011, but also 2011+2012, 2012+2013+2014 etc.
3) In col 'J', the is what I know to do, but I do not want to use SUMIF+SUMIF+SUMIF... for each year (the count of years will change througt time as mentioned above).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI know there have been many posts about multiple conditions in arrays, but I didn't find one that applied to my situation, so I'm hoping can help me out of jam. I'm using Excel 2000 on XP.
I have a database of sales information. Customer name is listed in column C, and columns F through Q contain the sales for the months of July - June (fiscal calendar year), with the headers for the months in row 4. There can be many rows of sales for the same customer, hence the need to sum them.
Example

CUSTOMER JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER
customer1 2 3 4
customer1 2 3 4
customer2 2 3 4
customer2 2 3 4
The problem is that this information will need to be updated every month to reflect sales year-to-date, meaning that the conditions for summing the data will change depending on how far into the year we are. So for instance, in August I will need to sum all the records for customer1 in the July column (column F) and the August column (column G), but next month it will have to sum the records for customer1 from July, August, and September (col H).
The result of this information would be displayed on a different worksheet. My thought was to assign a range of 12 cells (Sheet2!A1:A12) and to populate those cells with any of the months that need to be summed thus far. So for example, through September, A1 = "July", A2 = "August", and A3 = "September". Then the formula would use those values to evaulate the conditions. So in plain English the formula would:
sum the values in columns F : Q where the monthly header = the values in the range Sheet2!A1:A12 for all records where CUSTOMER = CustomerName
I have a list of Items and the quantities of those items on one sheet. Each item has a section location number as well. (three Columns, Item, Quantity, and Section Location). the list can repeat the same item multiple times.
This is why I then have a summary sheet to uses a SUMIF formula to sum the quantities of a given item that are in a givin section. which my SUMIF Formula works great for. But my problem is some items have the word "LUMP" as its quantity and not a number. I want to add to my array formula so if the item does have a LUMP quantity and the lump quantity is in the section location to put LUMP on the summary sheet. here is my formula
=SUM(IF((ProjectInfo!$AE$2:$AE$307 =$B59)*(ProjectInfo!$AD$2:$AD$307= AA$10),ProjectInfo!$AF$2:$AF$307,""))
projectInfo is the sheet where the list is. Column AE is the Item column on the projectinfo sheet column B on the summary sheet would be the item that i want to sum the quantities for Column AD is the section location column on the projectinfo sheet the AA$10 is the row and column of the section location i want to limit the sum of the quantities to the formula is in cell AA59 So it will sum all the quantities in the list on the projectinfo sheet if the item and section location match whats specified on the summary sheet.
getting LUMP to display if its a lump quantity. The Lump can only show up if the item on the projectinfo sheet has LUMP for that Item AND in that section location.
EDIT: Column AF on the ProjectInfo Sheet is the quantity column

I can get the formulas to work with NUMERIC values in Column A in the N1 & N2 tabs. However, I cannot get the formula to work when column A contains TEXT values in the TX1 & TX2 tabs.

My formula below work perfectly. I was wondering if their is a way for me to idenify the location of each row in which all the conditions are true. So, for example, if the formula generates an answer of 2, in a different cell it would give me the address of the 2 rows.

For example, if I had a list of the prices of all the cars available at a dealership (each car listed on a different row), and I wanted to find the total cost of all toyota celicas listed, how would I do this?
Basically, I'm trying to create a formula that says "if the value in the make column = toyota AND the value in the model column = celica, then sum the related values in the price column."
is there any way for a sumif formula to have multiple criterias? for my case, after the formula checks for a condition, it has to check for another condition before summing up the figures.

I cant seem to rack my brain around how to go about making a formula in order to achieve my desired effect using the IF Formula. The data is as follows:
Worker Status %
S1 75% and higher
S2 42.8571% -74.9999%
SH Anything below 42.8571%
My sheet pulls the workers status from a preset data table, lets say S2 for Joe. I want the cell beside his status to compare what his percentage is and display what the status should be (based on the conditions of the above table). If hes working 73% it will turn up S2 and I can compare the value from the table and the value generated based on his working percentage (I would use conditional formatting to color the cell red or green to indicate if it matches or not.)
I need to set up something like an IF formula that will populate 1 cell based on which of 11 possible values will be represented in another cell. I can do this up to 7 with no problems using the following IF statement:
= IF(G23="1","a", IF(G23="2","b", IF(G23="3","c", IF(G23="4","d", IF(G23="5","e", IF(G23="6","f", IF(G23="6","g",IF(G23="7","h", "OTHER"))))))))
But if I try to put more than 7 conditions in there it tells me I've entered too many arguments. Is there a way I can either use more than 7 arguments or some other formula

If nothing is entered into J1, leave it blank
But if J1 is greater than or less than H1, have the text "why?" appear in the cell. Late in the day and getting a lil brain dead.
SUMIF function. I am looking to build on this original formula but neither the SUMIF or SUMIFS formulas are working...here what it is:
I am looking to create a formula that will all up the figures based on the criteria within a specific date range - for example by selecting Company A and Workshop in Feb 2011 it will return £1678.75
I've also tried IF functions within SUM functions but can't get it to work.
I need a formula that will determine if a line is active or expired by first looking at the category and then looking at the number of days. (While still incorporating the ISBLANK section of the current formula.)
For Example: If the category is either FWW or FWW Ext then the line will expire after 365 days. If not, then it will expire after 180 days.
