In my spreadsheet below I want to be able to enter a sales number for January, the value of cell F2.

I want cells F3 thru F12 to automatically calculate according to the "Growth Per Month" value in cell H1.

Example: If January sales are 20,000, then February should calculate to 21,000 (january * 105%).

As shown in the below image. I have some data from A13 to I 13. Currently if I put the cursor on A13 and press DELETE button then all the formatting from A13 to I13 goes off. But the data still remain there.

Is it possible then when I press DELETE the content of A13 then all the data from B13 to I13 should also get deleted ?

Autofiltering Text As You Type

I have a spreadsheet with approx 12000 rows.8 columns. it represent material in our inventory and each row is a specific records that contains a lot of info. I need to be able to have a field in a top pane (could be top row i guess. or a small form) where i can start typing text and as i am typing, the spreadsheet auto filter the rows to display only whatever fit my parameters i am typing. a few example of what i will type in are:

bearing*2217
valve*gate*3*150
asco*8344

as you may have guess, "*" is a wildcard. The spreadhseet are generated using crystal reports over night, so i am not sure how i can or should use macros or add in for this..

Finding Current Month Total Sales Using Current Month To Date Sales In Formula / Macro?

Basically, I'm doing a recorded macro for work where I take an export and manipulate the data to show differences between sales from last year and this year. Also comparing this months projected sales to avg of last 6 months and also against last years this month.

The problem I'm running into is in automating the this month sales for mid-month exports. I can do it individually but I can't find a formula that will do it. Data is in one cell per month, so ex. 130 sales this month so far. I need to have it convert that to projected sales for total month based on what day it currently is.

Automatic Auto Filtering: Filter The List And Have A Box For Users To Type In Text

I have a list of a couple of thousand (and more) individual items. I want to filter the list and have a box for users to type in text (there are no numbers) and the results will be seen automatically reducing in number as more text is entered. (Similar to the Windows HELP files )

eg, typing A (or a) will show all entries beginning with A (without pressing
"Enter" or similar
typing AB will show only entries beinning with AB
typing ABO will show .........I guess you will understand the idea.

I have tried various forms of Filter - Auto and advanced - but still cannot get the spreadsheet to do what I want. Unless I am not doing the Autofilter (or Advanced filter) correctly (I am still a relative beginner!) I still cannot find a way of simply adding letters to a cell or input box and the filtering takes place 'automatically' as the letters are added.

Transactions Over A Month Broken Down To Each Product Type

I have a set of sales data which shows the dates of transactions and also the product type that was sold. I want to see the monthly sales for each product type. I can get a total for all product types over the months using the following:

36900 = Jun-08
39569 = May-08

But I need it to also break it down for product a, b, c so I need something else to add to the formula?

Using Excel 2010

As I am looping through files in a folder, I would like to determine if the file is a text file.

The problem is that all extensions are variable in a pattern such as .078, .051, etc.

In this instance, the extensions are numeric, but I'm trying to figure out a way to handle that is all encompassing to include *.txt, *.tsv, *.csv, *.prn, etc......

How can I handle these efficiently?

VBA: Format Amts Into Text $ 9.99 Type Format

Need to create a set of aligned text amts from various cells...Tried Format but unable to get right combination...I've looked at many threads and most seem related to getting amt from text instead of reverse.

Cell may contain nothing or a monetary amt, negative or positive. Output needs to be in format of "$9,999.99-" or similar...with leading zeros suppressed but a min of "$ 0.00" showing, so that above/below amts with be decimal point aligned in a fixed font situation.

I've almost gotten my routine finsihed but this is last remaining obstacle.

I have a sales level that I need to track...My rolling 12 months' sales must be $85,000 and my currently monthly sales must be $7,000. I have a sheet that tracks the $85,000 and tells me what I need to achieve that, but I haven't figured out how to include the $7,000 monthly minimum....

I'm trying to sum over a range (column A) based on values in another range (column B). Column B's cell values are calculated with a simple numeric formula that is either a subtraction or an addition of two cell references. I want to sum all the column A cells for which the corresponding column B cells are determined by a subtraction. Then separately, sum the cells for which the corresponding column B cells hold an addition. It seems that SUMIFS is the function to use, but how do I specify the sum criteria as "a subtraction" or "an addition"?

VLOOKUP Formula Works But Not If Type In New Data In Cell?

I have a spreadsheet with a VLOOKUP formula that I have to send to a customer weekly. They are required to type a code in column E of what they invoice, and it pulls the rate into column G based on a rate table I have. The formula is: VLOOKUP(E2,Rates!A:B,2,0)

When I made the spreadsheet, the formula worked perfect. But when they type their codes in and send it back to me, it's messed up. All of the codes they've typed in do pull the correct rate. However, if I try to go to column E and type a different code on top of what they typed (a code that IS IN the rate table), it will tell me: "The value you entered is not valid. The user has restricted values that can be entered into this cell".

If I create a new tab and mimic the exact formula and columns as I am trying to work with, it works perfectly. But for some reason, once they've typed their data into my spreadsheet, something messes up even though the formula is perfect, dragged down, etc. All columns are formatted as text. And the range in the rate table is correct as well. When I try to mimic the formula in the other tab, if I click a cell in column E, there is a drop down list there showing all the available codes from my rate table to choose from. But on the spreadsheet that is messed up has no drop down list on the cells.

We routinely work 40 hour weeks and have a sheet that automatically multiplies hour work by person (Say A1) times their hourly rate (say A2)

My question is how could I right it a formula that allows me to type in their hour work (A1) if it's greater than 40 hours?

Say A1 is 40, A2 =$20.00, A3 =(A1*A2) $800.00

If the A1 is 43 what would I put into A3 that would automatically multiply the additional hours over 40 times 1.5 A2

I have a lookup tab which contains three columns: Column A is a tax ID #, Column B is a set of numbers and Column C is a list of street names. I am writing a formula that will sum data for a 12 month period that is not based on a calendar year. For example may have data starting in June 2011 running to date, but not every month. If I set a start date for Year 1, say April 2012, I need to see Year 0 numbers (anything prior to April 2012), Year 1 numbers (April 2012 to March 2013), Year 2 numbers (April 2013 to March 2014), and so on. Date format is currently mmm-yy.

If this could be performed via a macro which references the database (spreadsheet), then even better. The database will contain multiple columns, of which two will contain the date and corresponding number respectively.

Cell Counting Based On Text And Style?

I'm putting together a calendar that will have show when people are off on holiday, training, out of the office or ill. But as it will identify people by name I have changed to cell style to reflect just what activity they are doing. As such I want to be able to count over a year just who has done what.
