I was wondering, more specifically, if I could on say a single click on the cell, keep comment open until clicked outside of the cell comment. Currently set up at the moment to show comment on mouseover of the cell. And I would like to keep comment open if i choose to click on the cell.

i have a workbook with two sheets. i have a command button on sheet 1 that inserts another worksheet from another workbook based on a cell value in sheet 1. i would like this specific command button on sheet 1 to be hidden or disabled until a value is entered into a certain cell on sheet 1 that matches a value in a named range on sheet 2.

Working from keyboard and mouse, when I click on a cell holding a comment ($B$52) , the comment appears. When I click on a different cell the comment disappears.

I get the same behaviour when I use Application.Goto rather than Select.
I would like to write a routine that
1) creates a comment for cell B52
2) selects B52
3) shows the comment in B52

4) comment disappears when user clicks on different cell.
Does this require event code?
being able to setup pics within the cell without setting up the pics in comments. I need the pics to be visible as day so when I save them in pdf form they can be seen by my clients without them having to click and go reference other files. Also if this is possible, is their a way I can load the pics using no more than 3 steps to get the sheet to start loading the pics, I am needing to minimize some steps just for saving time. I plan on using this setup for inspections and can't spend a lot of time changing the pic size and opening different files.

For example, If you were to hit any cell on rows 1 or 2 the command button will appear and when I am not on the visible property goes back to false. I have a ton of buttons on this sheet and I am trying to clean it up so buttons only appear as needed.

It seems that you can change position when you editing comment and its remembered, but when its showing its alway's on default position.
Is there way to change position of displayed (when you mouse over cell and coment pops up) comment position?

I have a workbook with a large number of worksheets in it. I intend putting the workbook onto a shared network drive so that a number of users can go into their individual named sheet - check some data and confirm that they have checked it.
My initial idea is to attach a command button to each individual sheet so that each user can click on the button to confirm that they have checked their data. What I would like to do is hide a worksheet within the workbook and when each user has checked their data - their button click will insert a tick in the relevant cell of the hidden worksheet e.g.
When User 1 clicks command button on User 1 sheet it will insert a tick in cell B2 of the hidden sheet
When User 2 clicks command button on User 2 sheet it will insert a tick in cell B3 of the hidden sheet
On the attached example, i have a check-box with controls cell M4.
There is also a command button on here, which i want to be visible when the cell value of M4 is "TRUE" and not visible when the cell value is "FALSE".
I assume i need to write some code into the worksheet to do this but don't know what to do.
I have multiple Command Buttons on a spreadsheet that all require the same password when used. The password s contained in the code. I've look the properties of this to objects and can figure it out.
I have a spreadsheet with two bitmap images inserted into it. In cell E2, I will enter a number, either a 1 or a 2. if I enter a 1, I want only the first image to be visible. If I enter a 2, I only want the second image to be visible. Is there a way to accomplish this (hopefully without the need for macros)? I've attached a spreadsheet as an example of what I'm trying to do. Also, note that I'd like the images to be stacked on top of each other so that they show up in the same place regardless of wether there's a 1 or a 2 in cell E5
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have on Sheet1 a table with a list of values in column A, and their corresponding picture in column B. On Sheet2 I have used the define name option to set up an index,match against the original table so that the relevant picture shows whenever someone selects one of the values in column A.
The problem is, while the pictures will change when the values are changed, because all of the pictures are "named", they will continue to show if a value not in the lookup table is selected.
Is there a piece of code that would allow me to specify if cell=blank,hide picture if not show picture?
I have seen the attached code, however this either shows or hides ALL the pictures on the active sheet, while I want to show or hide the picture in the active cell only.
I made a triangle with the excel forms and I want that it's shown when the value in A1=1 and hidden if value in A1 is NOT 1.
Alternatively: Make the line colour white or something like that. I just don't want to see it anymore

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm quite new to VBA, but I am attempting to get a Forms ComboBox to appear or disappear based on whether a certain cell (P7) reads YES or NO. P7 in turn updates in turn based on a user-selected value. As of now, the ComboBox only appears or disppears if I go back in and out of the formula I entered into P7. Basically, I want my ComboBox to dynamically update based on the value in P7. That may sound a little muddled, so here is my code for the ComboBox:

I wrote a small code to hide some columns if a certain cell is equal to a certain string.
The cell is actually a drop down list and when they select a certain one, I want it to hide 2 columns. So I wrote the code with sub name Action, but I want it to be running all the time. I tried to achieve this by writing the following code however it gave me error 438 for my 2nd line.
